No one from Utah was named conference player of the week.

Oh that right BYU didn't have a bye this week!

It sounds like you were one of the many who were crying after another athletic team took apart the coogs...

TCU may win the game, but the Utes won't just lay down like your mighty coogs did.

The Utes have more heart than the y and guess what they are athletic too... We have a chance this week and I really like our chances in our home away from home.

Go Utes!!!

The first 3 comments are proof that BYU fans aren't really fans. They're just Utah Haters.
BYU self esteem hurter | 11:30 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
BYU is the slowest team that has ever been in the top 25. Utah will put up a much better fight against TCU, and BYU will get blown out at home AGAIN by Utah. BYU should be thankful that the UTES keep earning them money with BCS bids.

If the Utes win(slim chance) and they win out the rest of the season, they will get another BCS bid, maybe even over boise st.
Utes eat crow | 1:19 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
If the Utes pull out a win against TCU, it will only be because TCU made enough errors to allow the U to stay in the game into the fourth quarter. The Utes may do be able to come out on top, but nothing the Utes have done this season indicates that they can go toe to toe with TCU and expect to be standing when the bell rings. This side of offensive miracles occuring for the utes, this saturday is going to be a long day for the utes, and we will more than likely get to find out what species of crow the utes prefer to eat when they get a good old fashioned butt whoopin by TCU. Dont think for a minute that Patterson does not want to serve Whitt up a good sized piece of humble pie, and yes TCU can and will hold Whitt accountable for his arrogance.
Re: BYU self esteem hurter | 4:59 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Utah gets a bid over Boise State? Utah's one loss is to Oregon who Boise State beat... If Utah wins out, they'd have to do so in an impressive fashion to get a BCS bid over BSU. I'm hoping for the TCU/BSU dual BCS bids (where they don't play each other but both trounce some AQ teams).
Similar to last year..... | 5:07 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
It seems to me that the coogie zoobies were making these same comments last year about how the Utes were going to get blown out. Just because TCU has humiliated the coogs the last 2 years doesnt mean they will do the same to the Utes. Utah has 2 things that the coogs do not. 1)speed and 2)heart. They may not win, but they wont humiliate themselves like the coogs did. So keep up the claims about the Utes ugly wins and how TCU will beat them, meanwhile us Ute faithful will just continue putting the W up every week. FYI, the Utes have won 22 of their last 23 games!
Go Utes!

The first three comments are among the fans that Bronco accurately described as having no football knowledge.

I was in favor of the freshman Wynn in the beginning of the season, apparently Cain and Wynn were neck and neck up to the last day. Now if you have a Junior and a Freshman that close you should follow Pete Carroll’s lead at USC and start the freshman…..YOU GET TWO EXTRA YEARS! Jordan will make a few mistakes this year but look out for the next three! He brings a spark to the offence.
BYU did lay down | 7:55 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Face it, TCU spanked the Y on their home field. Utah will play better because they actually get up for big games but will still lose to a superior TCU team. That freshman QB will be nothing more than "fresh meat" for TCU's D.
Love the Cougars but you have to call it like it is. They are unable to get up for important games.
Utah Fan | 8:02 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
We're going to DISMANTLE TCU and the kittens!!!!!!

We have the BIG "L" on our side, not to mention our 25,000 cheering fans.....

After this weeks game, we will be ranked in the TOP 10 and the zoobies will still be trying to catch us.

Then after the ZOOB game, we will be in the top 7!!!

Some things never change little brothers!!!!!!!!

BCS BUSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re:Utes eat crow  | 8:03 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
I don't really understand where your comments are coming from. You are acting like every fan and member of the team is saying the Utes will mop the floor with the Frogs. This is not even close to the truth. Almost every Ute fan is saying that the Utes will keep it close and MAY surprise the Frogs.
So if they lose, there is not really much crow to be eaten.
The Utes generally try not to count their chicks before they hatch, unlike BYU.
This is really one of the things that irritates me most about BYU fans. You have absolutely no clue what football is about. Most Ute fans are realistic and realize their chances agianst TCU are not great. But you don't see us all going on about how we will stomp them. You have no football knowledge. That is the difference between the fan bases.
BYU fans | 8:14 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009

your team has been irrelevant since the TCU whooping, so keep mouth shut and go away...until next year.

By now, you are all very familiar with "until next year" phrase.
re: 6:54AM | 8:16 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Have you seen how USC's freshman QB has performed the last 5 weeks? I think there's something to be said for what Whit did. Letting Wynn get his feet wet with the weekly preparations, gameday atmosphere, and film sessions, before throwing him in has paid off. He isn't hitting the wall and getting burned out, like the USC kid is. He's been terrible the last 4-5 weeks.

re: The MWC Championship | 8:18 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
That's funny, considering the only way BYU can get a piece of the MWC title is for Utah to beat TCU this week!

Once again, actual stats and facts get in the way of BYU fan's delusional rants. Nothing unusual there.

And if you think TCU will score more on the Utah Defense than they did on BYU, you have just shown your football IQ.

Not a BYU fan, just a Utah hater. That's sad.
RE: Anonymous | 8:23 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Cain has made it be known that if he is not going to be the starting QB, he will transfer at the end of the season.

Evidently, he has contacted B.S..

That would be a nice fit for him and he wants to play in the BCS...........which Wynn will not have the opportunity to do.

That will be two QB the Utes will have lost this year....

Only deluded Ute fans | 8:28 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
would think that playing a true freshman QB with only one full game of experience against the #4 team in the country on the road is a recipe for success.

Moving the ball against a pathetic New Mexico team ranked in the bottom 10 of the college football at home is one thing.

Doing it against the top defense in the country on the road is another.

Whittingham's hubris will come crashing down this Saturday.
TrueRed... | 8:30 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Poor Ute haters...but the Yners know all about losing to TCU...!

They know all about everything? 'cause they read books that tells them all about all!

They have the arrogance!

You can always tell a looooser by the way they jump everyone else who has been showing them up..........try this Yners...just get to the BCS once, and try winning a bowl game that means something...you can't even win the Sin Bowl!
Re: Re:Utes eat crow | 8:03 a.m | 9:00 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Right on point. BYU fans seem to live in a world they create. Their arrogance is not the result of what they have earned but rather what they believe they are entitled.

For example, until being demolished at home by TCU they honestly believed they were going to the BCS. Forgetting the fact that a lot of football was yet to be played, they were headed to the BCS because they are BYU.

Bronco is right, for once, BYU fans are uneducated.
Big Deal | 9:25 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
BYU beat Chokelahoma who is now not even ranked. That win is a curse just like the Y's win over UCLA last year. Cougar fans get all puffed up and then get a dose of football reality after they realize that those "marquee" wins are meaningless. It may not be pretty this Saturday for Utah, but at least they know who they are!

GO UTES

Unsliced bread | 9:41 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
So Wynn has a good game against the 104th best defense in the country, at home, and Utah fans are delusional enough to believe that Wynn is the greatest thing since sliced bread and is ready to take on TCU.

Gotta laugh at the arrogance/naivity of Utah fans.

Let's see how Wynn does against the revenge-minded 3rd best defense in the country, on the road.

Poor kid doesn't have a clue what he's in for when Jerry Hughes starts blowing through the Ute's offensive line to introduce himself to Wynn.

It's going to be sack/interception/fumble city for the Utes.

Whit should have had Wynn starting since day one if he really expected Jordan to be prepared to face TCU.

btw, if you're counting on a certain Ute to shut down Jerry like he did last year, sorry, he graduated along with all of the other Utah stars that were lucky to beat the Frogs last season.

TCU 45
Utah 14

TCU is 60-1 when holding teams to 17 points or less. Utah's lucky win last season was the only exception. There won't be a repeat on Saturday.
re: esteem hurter | 9:45 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Let me guess, your day job is selling swamp land on the internet. BYU has a better chance of busting the BCS this season than Utah.

re: Only deluded Utah fans | 10:26 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
You're probably right. I mean BYU's plan is exactly what you claim, except with a Senior QB, and they still got destroyed by TCU.

"Heisman" Hall pads the stats against bad teams, and pads the TURNOVER stats against good teams.

Since you clearly don't understand football at all, here's the Utah game plan against TCU....PLAY DEFENSE! Something foreign to BYU fans I know, but when you're defense can actually stop people, you stay in games.

38-7. Nuff said. BYU fans should learn to shut their traps when it comes to discussing TCU. They obviously haven't figured them out!
UTE FAN | 10:27 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
HAHAHAHA WOW BYU fans make me laugh. ALL this talk about how good you guys are this year and how the utes are going to get killed this week, really pretty funny to read. The utes might loose but not like the cougars, we actually have athletes and a defense so we will always be in the game. And for the game down south at the end of the season im sorry cougars you are not going to win. Outside of the Sooner (by the way they arnt even ranked anymore, great win) you guys have never been able to prepare and win the big game. I sure cant say the same for the utes. so all you cougar fans just shut up, you guys are ridiculous.
re: Unsliced bread | 10:31 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
You mean the Jerry Hughes who was completely shut down by a tackle at RES last year who is now out of football? Who no one has ever heard of? Who made Jerry Hughes disappear?

13-10

That's all that matters. Maybe if TCU had bothered to recruit a kid who could make a 35 yard FG, that score would be different. You're bad, not ours.

re: 9:45AM | 10:33 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Huh???? Hoping your post was a joke. BYU and the BCS? Sorry, but teams who lose by a combined 60 POINTS in 2 home games, don't go to the BCS.

Senior QB, and still couldn't get it done.

I guess now Cougarnation waits for Jake "The Savior" Heaps to become a Senior for their next opportunity that will surely end the same way!

Dave doesn't know sports. College football is the best. Professionals are all overpaid, prima-donas, who only show up when they feel like it. College players still play for the love of the game. On saturday I'm glued to the TV, On Sunday, I only check for the scores.
Go back under your rock. | 12:13 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
BYU, Utah still has a better record than you so I wouldn't be talking. We are also ranked higher than you.
Re Go Back | 12:54 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
But Utah hasn't played anybody....Utes schedule strength:

50 Air FOrce
79 Wyo
87 UNLV
91 Louisville
97 CSU
109 USU
111 San Jose St
117 NM

And you lost to:

14 Oregon

And will get humiliated by:

4 TCU
22 BYU

Utah will not finish in the top 25..

more like 40

Wayne Peart | 1:36 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
All these posts prove is that BYU fans are out of their minds jealous. Even in your so called glory days you were only the best of the worst, beating up WAC teams worse than you ( yes we know the Utes were not good back then.) That was then, this is now and Utah is the better team all the way around,,,Deal with it cause it"s not going to change!
Cougarf@n | 1:43 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
This is the game that will tell us whether Utah football is nearly as good as its fans think it is. Nothing Utah has done this year gives me any confidence they have what it takes to beat TCU. I'd like to hear a Ute fan explain how a Utah sqad that is not nearly as good as last year's team will beat a TCU team that's better than last year.

Even though there were some lucky plays for Utah last year like missed fieldgoals, etc., I don't chalk last year up to luck as Utah played very well to put themselves in a position to win that game (for example, TCU could have missed four chipshot fieldgoals against BYU last year or this year and still won). But Utah seemed to be playing much better last year at that point in the season, no? Utah pounded several teams and the close games were almost exclusively against good teams. This year Utah just doesn't look as good to me. How am I being biased in this assessment?
Trying to remember | 1:57 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
when did utah start clicking? They haven't put 4 quarters together yet.
Just jealous | 2:05 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
The coogie fans are just jealous that Utah still has something to play for. At least you can look forward to next years pre-season national championship that all the fans down there claim.
Scoreboard | 2:14 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Utah has a better record and higher ranking than BYU...

until Saturday!

CAIN FOR HEISMAN!!! He's still playing right?
re: 8:16 a.m. | 2:24 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Working Wynn slowly into the system only seemed to work well because his first game was little more than a scrimmage, at home, against one of the worst defenses in the country.

The Horned Frogs ain't no Lobos.

Wynn would have much better off getting his first taste of playing on the road in a hostile environment like Fort Collins or Las Vegas, instead, he has to play his first road game against the #4 team in the country.

If Utah fans think that is a recipe for success they're going to have a very rude awakening on Saturday.
be real | 2:33 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
I like the Ute fans who say they are going to destroy TCU. They obviously have not watched Utah play this year.

Utah is a good team, but any realistic Utah fan would know that TCU is a much better team.

Honestly, the way Utah has played this year has shown that they can't even play toe-to-toe with a team like TCU.

Utah can win, but it would take a miracle.

If you think Utah is great this year, your blind or haven't watched the games.
Your right byu fans | 2:46 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Playing byu at the end of our season will kill our strength of schedule
re: re: esteem hurter  | 2:49 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
How does BYU have a better chance of busting the BCS this year than Utah? No way!!! Not even talking about the relative skill of BYU vs. Utah. BYU is ranked 22 in the BCS, for BYU to be in the BCS, BYU would have to win out, Boise State would have to drop two games, TCU would have to drop two games, Utah would have to drop one game. At least! If Utah beats TCU and then loses to BYU I don't think that BYU will have enough convincing wins to get them into the top 10. No way the BCS will take a two loss team.
In order for Utah to go BCSing they would have to win out and BSU would have to lose. Much better odds, no matter what team you are looking at. Utah is alreay at 16, if they beat TCU at 4 and BYU at 22 and only have one loss...

Only an idiot who doesn't understand the BCS would say that BYU has a better shot.
Losing morale | 2:59 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
It's embarrassing when you're 8-1 and ranked #16 ...

and your fans have already given up on the game with TCU,

and are making excuses about this being a "rebuilding year",

and preparing to defend their loss by arguing that the Ute's didn't lose to TCU as badly as BYU did.

Sounds to me like Utah fans already know that the Utes are vastly overrated and that Saturday will expose them.

How delicious! :)
re: Re Go Back | 3:03 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Utah's SOS after playing New Mexico fell to 113.
BYU's having already played TCU, and having not played New Mexico yet, is 86.

This week, Utah gets the #4 team in the country, while BYU gets New Mexico.

Once Saturday is done, Utah will jump back into the 80's, while BYU will certainly drop into the 90's.

Not sure what you're trying to prove outside of the bottom of the MWC being really bad this year.

They both play the same schedule. Oregon is much better than OU or FSU, and was on the road. FSU and OU are better than Louisville. SJSU and Tulane both terrible, and each played USU. Plus Utah plays @ TCU and BYU.

Come seasons end, Utah will have higher ranked SOS, especially as OU and FSU continue to implode.

And it won't mean a thing.
