If you don't know what motivated Hasan, you are mentally constipated. He is a terrorist, he is a treacherous ideologue. He is the enemy within. So, investigate, investigate, investigate, whatever, ask him questions, by all means, he will love it. Give his sick ideology more attention. Those with any IQ have the answer and have moved on. We will continue to fight the enemies of the US.

General Casey needs to be fired along with those others in Major Hasan's chain of command who ignored or, because of fear of retribution, failed to act based on his poor performance and known actions. Diversity has torn this country asunder -- not made it better. And don't expect the numerous investigations, less Senator Lieberman's, I hope, to "tell the truth". The goal will be to prove that no terrorist act has occured on American soil on this administration's watch or that the Democrat's are soft on national security. (I am a retired senior officer who served 23+ years in the military.)

No difference between the shootings at Fort Hood and the shootings at Columbine High School and the shootings at Trolley Square Mall.

Lone gunman wanted to commit suicide and make a name for himself on exit.

The best part of the whole thing is that both the feds and Texas have the death penalty.

You are deeply deluded.

Mentally unbalanced people need little excuse to kill. Religion and ideology are a cover. The overwhelming majority of mass murderers in American are NOT Muslim. But haters need little excuse to hate too. So they cling to anything that confirms their hatred for Muslims, and ignore everything that contradicts it. Sick minds thing alike.

"We need to know if the Army psychiatrist is mentally ill or if he was driven to the crime by some twisted ideology"
Are these mutually exclusive? It seems to me that most suicide bombers have to be mentally ill AND ideologically driven

How many violent incidents with Muslim perpetrators in the U.S. are we going to sweep under the rug as being non-terrorism? Is it really going to take another event on the scale of 9-11 before authorities are willing to admit it's terrorism?

It appears that General Casey, DHS head Napolitano and others are either completely incompetent or have a political agenda that overrides reality. It's ludicrous that DHS would focus heavily on preventing potential backlash aginst Muslims instead of looking for warning signs from other potential perpetrators.

If I were investigating, i'd start at the top. Question Obama, and go from there.

Add to this incident the Trolley Square shootings, where cell recordings captured "Allahu Akbar", the attack by a Muslim soldier in Kuwait (2003), and multiple attacks on our soldiers by "allied" Muslim soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, and it's impossible to lie about the cause. The cause is militant Islam, the religion of hate. When the liberal media twist incident after incident to hide the Islamic motivation, it simply increases the perception of not living on the same planet the rest of us inhabit. When will simple common sense make a comeback in the media?

Yes, and as long as we continue to occupy Muslim countries, kill hundreds of thousands of civilians and displace millions more, we'll continue to create enemies of the U.S.

You should be deported.
Our occupation of Muslim countries is preventing the killing of hundreds of thousands of civilians by terrorist leaders, ruthless warlords, dictators, political despots and power-hungry tyrants. How dare you say we have killed "hundreds of thousands of civilians," when you know that is not the case. You simply cannot back that gross over-statement up. How dare you desecrate the memory of those of your sisters and brothers who have died in our attempt to provide and guarantee for others the freedoms you enjoy! No doubt - George Bush was a horrible man for getting us into the world-wide predicament that he did, but the servicemen and women who followed orders deserve your praise, not your fabrications and your baseless rants.

Marjorie appears to be the only one in the dark as to Hasan's motives. It's rather obvious to the rest of us that he is a terrorist. Clinton, Bush, Obama, none want to admit to terrorism on their watch. Call it anything but that.
Maria | 4:47 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Read the book Triple Cross to understand why our government sweeps evidence of terrorist attacks on U.S. citizens under the rug. The Oklahoma bombins were Al Qaeda linked. The evidence is compelling. Hasan is an Al Qaeda operative.

@ Ab @ 4:14

I should be deported? I was born in the U.S.A., so good luck with that. Perhaps you meant I should be indefinitely detained without access to a lawyer or any communication with the outside world. That's the American way of dealing with pesky Americans now, under both Bush and Obama.

The lowest estimate by any organization that has studied the number of excess civilian casualties is 128,000, and that's in Iraq alone through July 2005. The highest estimate, through 2007, is well over a million. None of that includes the 8-year war on Afghanistan that we're about to escalate. Kindly do the research before you accuse me of "fabrication."

I have said nothing to dishonor our service men and women on the ground. It's the people who started and continue to wage these stupid wars that need to be called to account. We're creating terrorists much faster than we can kill them. The best way to honor our soldiers is to bring them home now.
