How about drilling our own oil. We will do it cleaner. Political forces have brought this about.

Oil dependence is bad news. As for freedom of information, the U.S. has a history of poor performance in this area. We are not as free as you might think.
Woods Cross refinery explosion | 7:50 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
And yes, Utah will experience higher gas prices very soon as the reduced refining of local gasoline hits gas stations in the next two weeks due to the Woods Croos refinery explosion. And don't forget the hurricane now swirling in the Gulf of Mexico that may hit another refinery center in the southeast. And of course the Royal Families of the Mideast also have a hand in our gas prices.

As we turn to plug in cars and rely more on domestic electricity, and increasingly from renewable energy like wind and solar, for our transportation, problems in Nigeria or the Mideast will no long affect our energy prices...

Until then, oil violence will dictate the price we pay at the pump!

FYI, the Woods Cross refinery explosion only affected jet fuel and distilled hydrogen. Gasoline is not refined at that refinery.

Darn it, you were so close to having everyone convinced you knew what you were talking about. Better luck next time.

Incidentally, I agree with you that gas prices will go up. But the refinery explosion will not be to blame.
