Cool, just a bigger audience when we beat the frogs!

If anyone can do it,it's Kyle Whittingham and the Ute football team. GO UTES!!!!
Huh? | 6:13 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
the frogs didn't sell out for BYU last year? Weird...

Congratulations TCU for selling out. You have a great team and a wonderful stadium to watch a game in. Hope you get a BCS invite and win big! Go Frogs!
THEeyepatch | 6:43 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
That's sad, game number 10 and they finally sell out! We have a overrated number 22 ranked team and I think they sell out every game. WOW!!!!!!
Wayne Rout | 7:11 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
It's a terrible stadium. There is no parking and overall access to freeways is bad. I wish them luck for the season, but sellouts there will be few and far between.
Anonymous | 7:35 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
IM A HUGH UTES FAN! WOULD LOVE TO SEE UTAH BEAT TCU BUT I DOUBT IT WILL HAPPEN... BUT IF TCU WINS THEY BETTER WIN OUT AND GETA BCS BOWL GAME FORGET BSU
I like the Utes | 7:50 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
And I think if anyone in the MWC has the chance to beat TCU it is them, but overall I would have to say that a TCU win would be the best thing for the MWC and the WAC and all other non BCS conferences. I think it would be great to see TCU play for the nat. championship (although I don't think that will happen), and I would also like to see our own (from the WAC) Boise State get in a BCS bowl and win. 2 non auto bid teams in BCS bowls would say a LOT and put a lot of pressure on the BCS.
Big Dog | 7:53 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
The Big Dog is coming to town!

BYU fan: Pay close attention, Saturday. This is Big Boy football.

Go Utes!!
64% | 7:56 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
They only avg 64% capacity!!! I think Utah St has a higher percentage!!
Make 'em cry | 8:15 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
Let's hope the Utes send all 44,000 home disappointed. Actually, when you consider the limited size of the studenbody (8,000) and the corresponding lower number of alumni out there buying tickets, it's impressive that they can ever fill a stadium the same size as the one the Utes sometimes fail to sell out.
Anonymous | 8:27 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
This is why BYU will be always be in contention for a MWC championship and TCU probably won't. They don't have the fan support.

So, perhaps they can start that downward spiral after this season...
RATS | 8:50 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
...and it won't be televised in utah.
Trojan Cougar | 9:02 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
Wow, TCU fans are lame!
Big J | 9:09 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
Good for TCU. I can't understand why people are not all over their tickets. They are a great team to watch.

Go Utes!
Watch out for Locust | 9:15 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
and big purple Horned Frogs! Both have it in for uties,
wake up call | 9:15 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
The Utes have reason to be optimistic... except that it's THIS YEAR'S TEAM going to Texas!

TCU will exploit the young Ute QBs. This one could get ugly!

AP and Kdog | 9:17 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
the reason this is a sellout is because UTAH has made a name for themselves and all the locals plus many UTES fans are traveling to see them play
RE; Big Dog | 9:20 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
Big Dog- are you delusional? TCU has the number 1 defense in the nation and the only team you have played worth anything is Oregon, and oh yeah, you lost! TCU will mop the floor with Utah...
RE:Anonymous 8:27 | 10:00 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
Last time I checked fans don't play the game. I'm not sure what fan support has to do with winning. Maybe you should check around the nation and see losing teams that continue to sell out there stadiums...ie...Notre Dame
Keep in mind | 11:12 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
TCU is a very small university compared to the U or the Y. Only about 5-6 thousand undergrad students. I'd say having 20,000 show up to a game of a school that size would be impressive, let alone 45k.
Minerman | 3:02 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
didn't anyone notice that the Utes finished #2 in the BC last season? While TCU being ranked #4 is pretty high, hardly qualifies as "the highest" from a non-automatic qualifying conference. That distinction still belongs to the Utes.
gdog3 | 4:18 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
TCU is a very small school with a lot of pride and tradition. They were a major player in college football when pageantry began to really mean something nationally during the 30's, 40's , and 50's. They played for national championships and were instrumental in instigating the acceptance of a forward pass happy offense. It was much earlier than the Lavell Edwards contribution of a short passing attack in college football (college version of the west coast offense that is). We make fun of the cougars for worshiping 1984, but if they really want to embrace history, then go back to Slinging Sammy Baugh. No droolers, not Sam Limbaugh. Oh yeah, recent history since LaDainian Tomlinson has been rising each year. TCU won't start a downward spiral, and they will keep beating BYU each year.
But I thought........... | 8:12 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
The TCU/BYU game last year was the biggest, most hyped crowd in TCU history? Wasn't that why BYU lost by 25 points? That's what Bronco, the players, and the BYU media have been telling us for a year. And it wasn't even sold out?

I feel cheated.
Brooooootherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr | 8:38 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Let's be real, byu is not a good team and utah has not played a good team since (loosing) to the quacks. Coach whit is better than bronco as far as preparing his team for big games, but i will still be a cougar fan. Good luck UTES, but the score won't be in favor of the UTES. TCU28-UTES10
Everyone needs to realize... | 9:43 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
That the best thing for the BCS would be for TCU to be included in the National Championship. For 20 years the powers that be will point to that and say "We don't need to change, TCU got to play in the Title Game in 2009?"

The best thing for the demise of the BCS would be for TCU to be left out of the Championship in favor of a 1-loss team and a top-5 Boise State team to be left out of the BCS since they are only required to take one non-qual team (TCU). THAT would really raise the ire...and possibly bring major change to the current system.

None of that means anything if they lose to Utah, even if the U wins, there in no chance they will go to the BCS with one loss...so GO FROGS! It's the best thing for the conference and for the demise of the BCS system.
Re; Minerman | 9:46 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
It's certainly inaccurate, but not for the reason you specified.

The highest ranked teams ever from a conference without an automatic BCS bid are BYU and TCU, both of which have won national championships and thus ended the season ranked #1.

And the Utes finished #2 in the AP, not the BCS rankings last year. The BCS doesn't release final rankings after the bowls are over.

Look, I know the facts are inconvenient, but you Ute fans should at least try to learn them sometime.
Utes Exposed | 10:47 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Yes, the team that struggled against Wyoming and San Jose will get EXPOSED on Saturday. Get ready to put a big, fat "L" in the Wynn column.
Re: Minerman | 10:50 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Yes, fact must be inconvenient.
As you stated "The highest ranked teams ever from a conference without an automatic BCS bid are BYU and TCU, both of which have won national championships and thus ended the season ranked #1".
Although that's nice, it's actually incorrect. There was no BCS, automatic qualifier, etc.. when BYU "won" their NC. The rules have changed.
So look, I know the facts are inconvenient, but BYU fans should at least try to learn them sometime.
Re: Re Minerman | 10:52 a.m. Nov. 10, 2009
Taken in context, the article was clearly talking about BCS rankings and it is entirely accurate.

TCU being ranked #4 in the current BCS rankings is the highest BCS ranking a team from a non-qualifying conference has ever gotten.

The statement is totally accurate.
Hey | 1:59 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
that transfer to Nevada is looking better if you look at comparative score against SJSU. I pick Nevada over Utah by 21 unless Louk plays qb then it's 28.
re Big J | 11:19 p.m. Nov. 10, 2009
The reason people in Fort Worth aren't going crazy about TCU is because even with a great team, TCU is still far behind the Longhorns, A&M and T-Tech popularity wise. TCU would easily beat the Texas Aggies right now but A&M still has the far larger fan base.
Kathy | 7:42 a.m. Nov. 11, 2009
GO FROGS!!!!!
finishing #2 | 12:04 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
"didn't anyone notice that the Utes finished #2 in the BC last season?"

NO, because the Utes never got in the BCS rankings than #6.

The final BCS rankings are posted after the regular season, NOT after the bowls.

Utah Final Rankings: #7, #6, #4, #2

#6 BSC - after the regular season
#7 Harris - before the bowls
#4 Coaches - the poll that "officially" determines the BCS champion
#2 AP - which is independent of the BCS and crowns its own national champion

of course, BYU finished #1 in EVERY poll in 1984 :)
just too funny | 12:45 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
Some of the comments by utah fans are absolutely hilarious! They are SO delusional! They appear to think their team this year is just as good as last year's team and will beat TCU.

After your team loses big to TCU this weekend I want all of you to get into group therapy cuz you're going to need it.
re: Hey | 2:09 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
And Utah would beat USC by 24 points comparing their Oregon losses.

And Weber State would beat Boise based on their UC Davis games.

And Jacksonville State would pummel BYU based on their FSU scores.

Oh wait, it that game is in LES BYU would likely get pummeled again!
