I'm so sick of Mitchell's attorneys exploiting the legal system to keep Mitchell and themselves in the news.

Mitchell is a manipulator and is now doing it to the system with his legal drones in tow.

Put him on trial and put him away.

All lawyer/legal tactics aside, there are only three ultimate possibilities:

1. Mitchell is seriously delusional, or in some other way, seriously mentally ill, and as such is unable to extricate himself from the influence of evil over him.

OR

2. He is completely in control of his mental capacities but is seriously spiritually ill and is wanting/choosing to be under the influence of evil.

OR

3.Some combination of the two.

Whatever way it is doesn't really matter as far as his existence relates to society.

The only thing that matters is that he is kept in a place where he cannot visit this evil on anyone ever again.

Haven't you recognized there is no such thing as "justice" any more?

It's a game the attorneys play. The judges act as referees. And, just as any other sport, some referees are less competent than others.

Nothing in our judiciary has anything whatsoever to do with justice.

Justice is a thing of the past.

The lawyer just argue the point, but the judge decides the validity of the points that were argued.

If I was a lawyer, I would defend Mitchell. I believe in duty. In our judicial system, we all are innocent until guilt has been proven beyond any reasonable doubt. We are all entitled to be defended. It in our constitution. That piece of paper with more than just the Second Amendment.

If you all were paying attention, you'd see it's the government lawyers who are eager to keep themselves in the news .... if you were paying attention you'd know Mitchell is never going to be free, he's either locked up in the mental health system or the penal system, and neither is a walk in the park ... the prosecutor's aren't after "justice," they're after headlines and political points. ... As for defense lawyers not caring: if they didn't care, there'd be nobody looking out for the rights that keep you all free! Isn't it the Bible that tells you all that we're not Christian if we don't look out for the least among us?" ... As for the last comment, if you paid attention to the argument of the awful defense lawyers, you'd understand they're not declaring anybody incompetent, they're just trying limit testimony to that which is relevant to the legal issues at hand. ... It's the government that wants a big, drawn out show. It seems the defense attorneys just want their client to be treated fairly.

Why don't they just start the trial and limit evidence to fact and no opinions. That is why we have a jury system that evaluates evidence and facts and to pass judgment. All this lawyer posturing has gone on long enough and its time for the speedy trial. The jury has the final say and the only thing that has been accomplished is an injustice.

The judge should have enough experience and knowledge to determine his mental state to find him fit for trial. Experts never agree and are emotionally disturbed and confused and unreliable themselves.

Get on with it, let the jury make their decision with facts and not innuendo's or suppositions. These useless delays have gone on long enough.

Ah, but you didn't mention what they are REALLY after: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for doing basically nothing. And what they are doing will never amount to anything that will benefit anyone anywhere anytime except themselves.

Either way, Mitchell should be in prison or a mental institution for the rest of his life. If he ever gets out, he should live next door to his defense attorney. His attorneys want justice, but only as they control the evidence.

What police or court records exist from Mitchel's arrest and time in jail in California. If I recall correctly, he was in jail for a while during the time Smart was being held in California - what was the song and dance then? He sing in court?

Don't mess around with due process. It is the backbone of the US legal system and one of the last vestiges of hope for a fair trial in the US. Let 'em work things out by the numbers so that if convicted Mitchel doesn't walk on a technicality.
