What if the God demanding that religious followers commit these deeds if the One True God? Would we dare to go against God's will?

that Muslims should serve in our armed forces. We certainly don't consider ourselves at war with Islam, but many believers in Islam certainly do believe themselves to be at war with us. We are asking a terrible division of loyalties to expect them to serve against those they consider their own people.
Our first consideration should be the safety of our own people, especially our military--those we expect to defend us. Our efforts to be fair and multi-cultural are ignoring reality--our hearts are with our most closely held beliefs and values--and religion and family are two of the strongest of those.

I served with may Moslims during my 29 year carrer in the military and never felt there was a problem with any of them. I would gladly serve with them again.
The problem we had in this case was 1) Hasan was radical and 2) no one in the Army took action on his behavior and words. All the warning signs were there yet no one was willing to investigate and do something.
The Army made the mistake of not wanting to be Politically Incorrect by scrutinizing a Moslim too much. In the end it costs lives of innocent soldiers.

@Sarah Jane P. 10:24 a.m.:

"What if the God demanding that religious followers commit these deeds if the One True God?"

The shocker is that one in 4 of the world population believe the Muslim god is the one true god.

I agree with "@ I don't believe" - I'm sure the vast majority of U.S. Muslim soldiers serve their country with honor.

And no, we shouldn't single out innocent muslims for this monster's deeds. The thing is, Gen. Casey, the Army Chief of Staff, has basically kicked all US soldiers in the gut by implying that they'll suddenly start lynching muslim soldiers. Truth is, there's no record of an epidemic of US soldiers targeting muslims, while there IS a track record of US muslim soldiers targeting their fellow Americans; Gen. Casey's preaching to the wrong crowd.

Gen. Casey also betraywed his hand as a leftie-PC "diversity" worshipper, by saying that, while the Ft. Hood murders were a tragedy, it would be a BIGGER tragedy to see diversity suffer in the Army. His words. I'm sorry, but the murder of over a dozen soldiers by a radical muslim traitor is a far, far bigger tragedy than seeing the leftie touchy-feelie doctrine of "diversity" suffer in some way.
