I think they say what they think is true. There are liberal talk show hosts as well. I don't think these people are all liars. We see the world differently and tolerance is necessary. Just because its not your perspective does not make the host a liar. Show some quotes in context and demonstrate the lie. Prove that the host is lying. That they know they are telling a lie. I have to believe that our federal leaders are doing what they believe is best even when I disagree.

I would like examples of their 'lies'. It is obvious that you do not listen to them or you would know that Glenn and Rush ar not on KSL. I laugh at people like you that demean people you have probably never listened to. Attack people personally that you do not listen to, real classy.

Kevin

After reading former Rep. Mickey Edwards' book Reclaiming Conservatism, I noticed him when he was being interviewed on TV. The interviewer asked Oklahoma Republican why, when writing a book about contemporary conservatism, he made no mention at all of Rush Limbaugh.

His answer: "Rush Limbaugh has never had a political thought in his life."

Reason

Probably for the same reason ksl allows press conferences of the president and the speaker of the house spilling a bunch of lies.

Dave

The vast majority of the politicions in DC fit your description.

Ernest T. Bass

Because the LDS Church shares many of the traits you listed.

Once again we see the personal animous oozing forth from ErnestT, like the unraveling of the single strand DNA that makes up his genetic marker.
Talk radio in all of it's formats is "interesting" to listen to when one has no other form of entertainment. That's precisely what it is, entertainment. Some commentators can make fairly good sense of things, this is where the sheeple who blindly follow their own party's mantra and demands of their political Imams differ from those who can manage to freely think for themselves.
The Imams from Massa Progressive's Plantation cannot fathom anyone who dares stray away from the rigid dogma of self-import, while the Imams from the Republicrats here in Utah, cannot fathom or coneptualize any ideas other than their own. Very little difference between the two here in Utah at all. Talk radio from all sources helps the sheeple decide for themselves, the true fear-mongers are terrified of an educated electorate.
It's time to throw all of the self-anointed political "saviors" out of office and get back to the Constitution and Declaration of Independence.
The state legislators here in Utah are completely inept and corrupt.

yasa yada yada

this letter and the three others, the same subject and the dozens before them reminds me of an old Seinfeld episode where they use the term yada yada yada to short hand a pointless conversation.

Talk radio is all about money. Be outrageous and lie, harden your core supporters, and sell more advertising. Result: more money. All at the expense of the country and civility.

AntiChrist(s)

Does any of this sound familiar?:

1) Speaking using flattering words
2) Tell you how good and how smart you are, and mock others
3) very Very Popular
4) Get paid EXTREMELY well for what you say
5) Twist the truth to suppose their positions

Do the names:
Sherem
Nehor
Korihor
...come to mind???

If what you say is true then liberal talk radio would not have fizzled out and the mainstream media would have a greater share of the viewing audience. They are masters at outrageous bias, lying, and ignoring the other side. They have always had an advantage in selling advertizing and they have plenty of money. You'd like to think that talk radio is only successfull because they have hoodwinked alot of people into believing a bunch of lies, but that simply isn't the case. They have attracted millions more listeners and viewers on FOX because they give information that the mainstream ignores or covers up in an effort to push a liberal agenda. If they were more fair and unbiased there would never have been a need for alternative media. You can't stop it now, so you might as well quit trying to squelch those you don't agree with.

Andy: a single strand of what?

As per usual...

...whiners and complainers without specific examples of wild accusations. Look, I'm no particular fan of any of these guys, but before you spout off about their "lies", please give some specific examples before you hit them upside the head. You owe them and us at least that much. Please, the facts to back up the rhetoric.

Mike Richards

Mr. Iker wrote: "The broadcasters sell hate with half-truths, exaggeration and outright lies.".

The burden of proof in on Mr. Iker. What half-truths? What exaggeration? What outright lies?

Just because he don't like what is being said, doesn't make those statements "half-truths", "exaggerations" and "outright lies".

Where is his outrage for the "misrepresentations" being made by Mr. Obama for health-care? Why is he not incensed that Mr. Obama lied when he claimed that he wouldn't raise taxes on anyone except the top 5%. Does Mr. Iker believe that calling a tax a "fee" somehow changes the fact that the government is in our wallets?

Because the main-stream media has totally abdicated its responsibility to dig deep and question every "fact" uttered by this administration, people like Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh are virtually the only media willing to speak up. Mr. Obama's response to them is to smear FOX News.

Take off the blinders. Take out the ear-plugs. Read the documents left by the Founding Fathers and compare Mr. Obama's outrageous ideas with those upon which America was founded.

Brother Chuck Schroeder

You know, your 100% right Gil, it's true, Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity are all swindlers, that's laughing all the way to the bank, with, not only YOUR MONEY, but the sponsor's monies as well. No matter how Utah hates the truth, about this, in their snowmobile state of snow-birds, bored to death, stuck indoors for the next several munths, under gray skys, with their AM Radios, and popcorn along with soda pop and energy drinks, plus video games. What a life, hey Gil?. And I'm a Republican to.

Bro Chuck's Rant's n Rave's

Glenn Beck reminds me of the Wicked Warlock Witch of the West has waved his magic wand of hype over his mormon toadyish serviles and has deemed we all shall drink his poisonous potion of rating's, because he's the Lord and Master now on FOX.

Diane

The LDS church allows it because people like Beck and Hannity are saying things that the LDS church can't say over the pulpit. They are hoping that people will somehow heed to the warnings that these commentators talk about everyday.

Pres.Hinckley said "there is a portent of stormy weather ahead"

Pres.Monson has said he "cannot promise a bright future for our youth"

The LDS church would receive an enormous backlash if they came out and said what Beck and Hannity talk about.

Limbaugh, Beck, et al.

are demagogues, quite obviously.

They pander to those in society least informed and least able to think critically. They prey on the prejudices and fears of society.

We have always had demagogues with us, but in the present media culture of today, they have a special power. It is the responsibility of all to be informed, so that we may critically filter any information we receive. We must always be vigilant, especially with our government, but also with anybody telling us our problems are not of our own making.

When you hear them blaming another group (liberals, Jews) for all of society's problems, that should be a tip-off that they're selling you something.
(In O'Reilly's case, it's the Posturpedic Bed!)

Felix Urioste

They speak the truth. No doubt about it.
If the nation was wise enough to listen to them, we would have no problems. None at all.

To "Anonymous | 8:50 a.m. " I hate to tell you this, but the three greatest motivating things in this world are Money, Power, and Sex. You whine about conservative radio being all about the money, yet ignore the immense power grab through lies that the Democrats and Republicans have been pushing over the past 17 years in one form or another.

To those of you complaining about the "lies" that Beck, Limbaugh, and Hannity use. Think about this, they are paid to give their opinion on politics, their opinion should not have to be based on what one group has called the truth. Their shows are expected to be biased. However the news desks as NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, Fox, the AP, Reuters, NY Times should be unbiased, yet all of those, except Fox, have become puppets of the White House. The White House has even claimed control over them. So, if Beck, Limbaugh, and Hannity should not be listed to because of their conservative bias, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, the AP, Reuters, NY Times, and other liberally biased news outlets should banned simply because they are expected to be neutral and are biased.
