Comments about ‘Utah Jazz: Korver and Miles to be evaluated’

As much as the Jazz and fans anticipate these two coming back the reality is that once they are even cleared to start practicing it will be another two weeks after that before they see floor time and another month after that to get into game shape and the flow of the game. I would be surprised if these two were able to contribute at there normal levels before Christmas.

I'm a big CJ fan, and I hope he comes back and shows big improvement. He has tons of potential but so far in his career he has only produced occasionally. I'm hoping he is maturing both physically and mentally and is ready to step up and produce much more than he has shown in the past. The Jazz need him to be a dependable scorer from the outside and show he can be smart and take it to the hole and take the midrange jumper when needed.
Here's hoping he shows people what he can do.

I am not saying he is the best thing since sliced bread and all , but Wes Matthews is something special. I for one am concerned what their return will do to the development of this young guy.

In the short time he has been here he has shown more poise and potential then most of the guys on our team. He seems super Intelligent. I mean the guy does not take bad shots !!! He already plays within the system , he is a excellent passer, and I would put him in the top 3 right now on our team for defense easily.

We have had years to evaluate these other guys. Wes is already showing signs that with more playing time he can do what the coaches have been asking and then some.

Sloan and everyone else praises his practice habits and his will to work hard on his game. That is a guarantee this guy is going to get better. Alot better !!!!

What about Harpring? I haven't seen any news about him since pre-season. Has he decided to retire?

I am somewhat of a CJ fan. I am not convinced that he is going to be an outside threat for awhile. He tore up his shooting hand. That does not bode well for him coming right in and scoring from the outside. But hey, he may even shock ME.

There was a note about Harpring in the D-News the other day. O'Connor basically said they hadn't heard back from him yet and don't know what's gonna happen. Doesn't look like he'll be back.

Slown and KOC need evaluated. They seem to not know anything. They signed Okur to an extention and can't put a winning team on the court.

Maybe Greg also needs to be evaluated for keeping SLown and KOC

We definitely need the outside shooting to pick up! Here's hoping Korver and CJ can rehab quickly! Sure do miss seeing them out there on the floor!

I did not know Miles could shoot from outside, I thought all he can do is dunk the ball like all the rest.

I'll give you an evaluation of Korver and Miles:

Neither of them can shoot or play defense.

Take two tylenol and call me in the morning - and the bill for $900 is in the mail.

Lets trade for Iverson he should take all the preasure off of Boozer, so it will give all of you fickle fans out there a reason to leave everyone else on the team alone. i think the only way to make some of you happy is for the Jazz to win 80 games well thats not posible now so lets give up.

At least your so called pathetic fans want to win. The Pathetic coach and pathetic team don't seem to want to very bad.

Ok then until they start winning you dont come around then. I can love them as much as anyone, which I do, but that does not mean they will be good or not. Might I also point out that although the fans can get worked up and sometimes resemble the mob, Alot of times they are pretty spot on when it comes to what is going on or not going on.

But to criticize Jazz fans I mean come on. We are the best fans in the world. Our team has never won anything, yet we keep coming back year after year.
We have a right to our opinions. And we have a right to want the team to improve. I am pulling for these guys. But I am also smart enough to see that this was a huge gamble on potential that has yet to pay off. This team seems to be always waiting for the future, We are talkin about now.

So I will be waiting with the rest of the frenzied crowd, for that breakout season somebody says they are ready to have....

I'm not sure Korver or CJ would help this bunch, some shooting but little defense and toughness. I think as a whole Jazz management has done a good job of bring in some nice community friendly guys and for that you get a nice soft team. Fess has probably had the most off court issues outside of Boozers mouth. They also have a team full of incomplete players who's skill set doesn't mesh with each other which is troubling when it comes to bringing everyone back. AK & Brewer athletic but not great shooters, Boozer and Milsap short for PF, Memo lack of althletic ability, small for a center, Price lack of point guard ability, Maynor-rookie, Fess & Koufos size but lack of experience, Korver and Miles, can shoot the three, limited defensively, Booz and D-will not defenders. As a group you throw lineups out there on the floor and teams can exploit one thing or another, either your lack of team speed/athletic ability, lack of shooting, lack of size and or defense. CJ and or Mathews may be the Jazz best hope for plugging at least one hole, the perimeter, with ball handling/shooting.

@The Truth ....Since when are we putting our hopes on an undrafted rookie....what a laugh...Matthews is an answer to the Jazz woes..Very funny!

I'll put my money on C.J. and Korver to open up the perimeter! Matthews can be the relief guy! Can't see him being anyone's replacement any time soon! Some people are quick to judge! Let's see a little more time on the court before we call it!

@Truth: What's your thoughts on resigning Brewer?

I believe C.J. is more valuable to this team than people realize. Not so sure sure about Korver because of his defensive liabilities and average shooting. But I also believe C.J. is more valuable playing the 2 rather than the 3, to spread the floor more.

I am though impressed with Wes. I believe he could be a trusted back up for C.J. at the 2 or a back up for who ever is playing the 3. What do you think Miles?

Maybe Miles can get back in time to replace the rest of the team. More injuries around the corner. The Jazz had 20 years of little to no missed games due to injury. Now it's been a MASH unit for the last 5 years. Really just the last 2 years sans Boozer who seems to have (over time) changed the culture of being fit from within the organization. Who says he's not an all star. Don't they have the all injured team votes coming up soon. What a positive effect Boozer has been for the Jazz. Maybe they can forget about him leaving sometime this year or next, and just offer him $100 million to resign with the Jazz for 5 more years, That way he could play in less than half the games in that span and be fresh for a title run.

@B.R.: I think CJ is a better fit replacing Brewer at the 2 in the long term. I think Matthews within a year will be a better player than Brewer. I don't see the Jazz resigning Brewer if they move CJ to the 2 and sign another scorer. Korver and Harpring will be gone at the end of the year freeing up about $10 million. We need serious help at the 2 and 3 right now. AK is a man without a home because he is neither a 2 or a 3. We have Boozer and Millsap at the 4. If you look at this team it is totally messed up in key positions.
