USA Today poll: Utes 14th, Cougs 22nd

One More Week | 12:03 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
for the Utes to enjoy their 15 minutes. Next week, TCU stays the same, BYU moves
up, and Utah moves down when the Utes get blasted by the Frogs. Then, the Utes
travel to Provo for a whupping and an exit from the polls. Oh well, there's
always next year (or not).

I agree. Utah and BYU are way overrated. Only TCU is worthy of a BCS bid.
They have by far the strongest team I have ever seen in the MWC. No one can
even come close to this year's TCU defense.

Were you in a cave in January? Is Alabama one of your "big boys"? Give the MWC props where props are due. TCU can and will take to the woodshed any so-called "big boy" you care to put in front of them.
The BCS is a greedy sham that has already and will continue to be exposed! Get real and get over it buddy!

Once again the polls are a popularity contest. Ohio St. crushes football
powerhouses like Toledo and New Mexico St. and loses to an average Purdue team.
Now they are ranked 8th in the USA poll. What an injustice to the other teams.
Wake up pollsters!!!

15 minutes huh? Those 15 minutes for the Utes have lasted since at least 2004.
Remember, undefeated, BCS busters. Again last season, undefeated, won their BCS
game. Whether they win or lose against TCU and BYU, no matter what the polls
say, they are still a quality program.

My biggest beef is with Oregon/USC. I mean really?!! Oregon crushed USC and now
they are 6 spots behind them when they have identical records! Doesn't make
any sense whatsoever.

When ESPN Gameday was in Provo for TCU-BYU game, the road team won.
When ESPN Gameday is in Fortworth fro TCU-Utah game, the road team will win.

I hate to burst your bubble, but Game Day is going to Fort Worth for the same
reason it went to Provo -- TCU. It has little to do with Utah just like the
decision to go to Provo had little to do with BYU. With that said, I hope Utah
beats TCU.

If Cain were still playing I would have to agree, but with Wynn I think it will be closer than that. Don't get me wrong, I want the UTES to win, but I don't think that will be the case. TCU is the real deal, no question.
In the long run it is better for the MWC as a whole to have another true big time program accomplish somehting on the national stage.

"The real deal?" will someone please tell me how you can say this team
deserves that much credit. They are the top of the worst conference in football.
Who have they beat this year? A road win against weak conference opponents such
as BYU doesn't mean a thing. Play some top 10 teams and win those games
before you start putting this Mountain Weak Conference team up there with the
likes of Alabama, Texas and Florida.

RE: TCU??? TCU went to Virginia for their first win of the season and then
beat Clemson in their 3rd win and SMU their 4th win for out of conference play.
They have whipped everyone so far in the MWC except Air Force who played them
tough to the end. TCU is at the top of not the worst, but one of the top 5
conferences in the nation. It is naysayers like you that refuse to give credit
when credit is due because the MWC is not an auto qualifying conference.
Thankfully, you are not a voter in any of the polls. Obviously, you did not
look at TCU's winning margin either.
I would guess you are looking forward to this Saturday when Utah plays TCU for Utah's 2nd L of the season by a margin equal to BYU vs TCU.
To Cougars, TCU and Utah. I would love to see the TCU - Utah game this Saturday. It will be a fun one.

I will give credit when it is due. Virginia is ranked #66 in the nation while
that powerhouse SMU is #79. Hardly quality out of conference wins. They better
have large winning margins when they are playing teams like #97 Colorado State
and #99 UNLV and I am sure they will run it up when playing Wyoming and New
Mexico at the end of the year. "Whip" someone ranked and then come
back and justify your point. Beating #15 Clemson doesn't warrant a spot in
the BCS. They don't have a top 5 or top 10 win and they are only 2-0
against top 30 schools.
I am a Bama fan so I could care less who wins this Saturday. If TCU beats UT and wins out, they still don't deserve to be mentioned for a BCS spot.
You might want to pull back on the Mountain West being a "top 5 conference." It might be better than the Mid-American, Sun Belt, The WAC and Conference USA but thats all.
