Moose Fan | 7:06 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Man oh man do the yewties look good...............against UNM.

Only 4 fumbles in the 1st quarter and 1 in the 4th, but hey, they recovered ALL but one of them........awesome offense!!!

But don't worry, the Y and TCU didn't look past their oppontents and will look FORWARD against EWES.

After all the yewties are ranked in the top 15 and will be favored against the Y and slight underdog of TCU so maybe their games will be close!!!

By the way, Boise State won their game !!!!!

Anonymous | 7:26 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Yea, Moose...Boise State won their game and they are going to need help from Utah to get into the BCS.

Great game, Utah. Offense turned in some great numbers.
Utes win!!! | 7:43 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Big win for the Utes. They dominated NM.

Bring on TCU!

I like how the first poster is a rapid byu fan lurking on his computer waiting desperately to attack the win that Utah had... Nice cross-section sample of the "hating" zoobies (Not all byu fans) trying so hard to justify their existence in the shadow of the higher ranked and superior UTES.

I am sure the sting of the composed FRESHMAN QB Wynn, who only played in his second NCAA football game and turned in brilliant numbers, probably fuels the desperate hate of the byu fans biting their knuckles in fear of the future both immediate and in the coming years. Especially when they consider the ability of Hall to disintegrate when a little pressure comes his way.

Good job UTAH...great game. There were some amazing positives especially considering this is said by some to be a building year... 8-1 and ranked no less.
DennyG | 8:02 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Utah has traditionally had a difficult time with NM.
Well done gentleman.
Best 8-1 rebuilding team EVER | 8:05 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009

And going to 9-1 after next week.

Go Utes!!!

Hey Cougar fans, watch carefully.

This is what a BCS bowl champion looks like.
Re: I love it | 8:12 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
The first poster happens to be a BSU fan.....so get with the program. And yes, Good job utah on winning against a winless team, you must be so proud. Enjoy this week because next week you will be exposed as imposters......BIG TIME!

RE: Howard S. | 8:18 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Hey Howard- I hate to break this to you, you have no chance against TCU next week. You are about to see what a BCS team looks like next week at TCU. It won't be close..

Keep dreaming though...
45-14 | 8:19 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
The Utes (8-1, 5-0) won their sixth straight and scored their most points since a 48-24 win over BYU last year to end the regular season
Bring on TCU | 8:42 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I'm stoked for the game next week! Here's to the Utes playing their best. I think the Frogs are the better team this year, but let's see...

Either team represents the MWC very well.
Re; RE Howard S. | 8:44 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Please Cougar fans, tell us ALL about what BCS teams look like since you have so much experience getting throttled by them. You would know better than most I guess! hahaha
Utah fans | 8:56 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
You will shut up hard after TCU seriously beats you down 50-0 next week in Fort Worth. I can hardly wait.

A TCU beatdown of Utah will feel tons better even than a BYU beatdown of New Mexico next week.

Re: RE: Howard S. | 8:18 p.m. | 9:00 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Ahhhh, I think Howard knows what a BCS team looks like. In fact, BYU knows what a BCS team looks like being on the losing end of a 48-24 blow out from Utah last year and a 38 - 8 blow out from TCU this year.

Yep...I'd say BYU is very familiar with what a BCS team looks like.
Anonymous | 9:02 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Great game for Wynn to get some experience.

Congratulation to Eddie Wide on setting a new Utah rushing record!!
Ernest T. Bass | 9:05 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
How could a team that's supposed to have a "great" defense let UNM score 14 points against them at home???
Cougar Fan | 9:09 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Here goes Re; RE Howard S... BCS teams look nothing like Utah does this year. Honestly, Utah had great teams in 2004 and 2008 and yes the 2008 team had some great late wins in close games with a senior QB but make no mistake about it, this years team is not BCS material, and I haven't heard a single sports announcer or commentator outside of Utah even consider them as a possible BCS contender. TCU is the only non AQ team that looks anything like a BCS team this year. You'll see... more than you want to.
Bullets | 9:14 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Time to pull out the bullets... like about 50 of 'em. Let's hope Kyle's got some saved up for TCU this week.
Pete | 9:22 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Enjoy this Utes. You have a tough road ahead, in the form of two losses.
This what I am taking about! | 9:23 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Utes beat winless Lobos 45-14. I haven't seen the Utes play this well since the Sugar Bowl (yes that is a BCS game by the way!). Still lots of room for improvement, but all in all, the Utes showed what kind of damage they can create when they play error free football. They have athletes on their team and I believe they will a force to be reckoned with for the 2010 season. For now, they have three games remaining, two of which will be a challenge. I believe they can compete with TCU and make it respectable. A win is asking a lot, but who knows, we will see. BYU should be another good game. A win there is achievable, but we will see as well. Wynn is a winner and an up and coming star! Go UTES!
Cougarf@n | 9:28 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I'm a cougar fan and I can't stand the Moose. He's like the Wee Willy of the DesNews...there's like six of him and they all have the same annoying personality (or it's just the same guy having conversations with himself).

Anyway, good game Utah. Next week's game vs. TCU should be interesting. I think this will be the first week Utah plays a common opponent tougher than BYU because Utah's D should keep it interesting until at least the third quarter, but I still see about a 21-27 point loss. It could get out of hand even worse than the BYU game, but I want the rivalry game to involve two ranked teams, so hopefully Utah makes it respectable for at least a couple of quarters.

Iowa got spanked, Cincinnati eeked it out against the mighty U-Conn, and Boise State nearly lost to Louisianna Monroe so TCU will jump a spot or two this week and be comfortably in the top 5 with three weeks to play. Have fun in Texas.
breaking 40 | 9:36 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
wow, the ewes finally break the 40-point barrier for the first time this season and they think their offense finally has a pulse

get a clue

this was 0-9 NEW MEXICO!

where was your offense last week when the Utes would only manage 3 1st half points, AT HOME, against the same team BYU hung 31 points on, at the half

BYU 52 Wyo 0
Utah 22 Wyo 10

here's reality: Wynn will be cannon fodder at TCU next week

enjoy your win

btw, did the Utah fans storm the field?
VegasBaby | 9:58 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
BYU is headed to Vegas Baby!!! Yeah! Its Vegas for the Coogys! Yeah. Whoho!
VA Ute | 9:58 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
What happened to all the Wittingham second-guessers? Wynn was clearly better than Cain. Did you see how much more open the offense looked. New Mexico was playing the run in the first half to make Wynn beat them and he made them pay.

I think next weak will be a tough game, but I like our chances better with Wynn at QB. Go Utes!
what a BCS team looks like? | 10:01 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009

NM score with 17 seconds left in the game against 3rd stringers. go back to your midnight celebration in the streets over oklahoma and talking about your national championship game this year.... oh wait thats old news not gonna happen is it?
Re: Bring on TCU | 10:07 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
"Either team represents the MWC very well." Wrong, wrong, wrong. TCU represents the conference in a BCS game. Utah doesn't come close. But, hopefully after getting demolished in Ft Worth next week the Yewts will still be ranked when they play BYU.
why | 10:09 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Why so many cougar fans commenting on a Ute story? Why are they so obsessed with what the Utes do? I am a Ute fan, they are a good team this year. Not their best team but good, maybe they win the rest of their games, maybe they lose some, I am still a fan and they are still a good team having a good season.
Reality check... | 10:13 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
The Yewts should move up in the rankings far enought to still be ranked after TCU destroys them next week. But, on 11/28, BYU will be the higher ranked team.
Anonymous | 10:13 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Man if only games were won by previous game scores!
Then byu would be awesome.

Enjoy us rising up the rankings.
To: Ernest T bASS | 10:13 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
The whole 4th qtr had Utes that had never played before. In fact our 4th string QB was even playing on D, other than him I didn't see any players I'd recognize. And our backup QB Cain made another of those mistakes that solidified the Utes QB situation; Fumbling a snap then trying to pick it up. The rule is to fall on it. He tries too hard, and ended up losing possesion and giving the Lobos great feild possition. That's how they were able to get 14.

Anyways... The Utes always get up for big games. Even though I think TCU is going to be the BCS buster this year, I have a good feeling about our chances next week.

GO UTES!

For "What a BCS team looks like?" This year's Frog team kicks either so called Yewt BCS team. Frogs 50+, Yewts might score three if they still have Sakoda to kick a 60-yard fieldgoal.

Get off your high horse Utah | 10:34 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
You are NOT a top 15 team. Stop comparing your defense to TCU's, it is an insult and a slap in the face to them. Your defense is OVERRATED with a capital O. Top 15 defenses don't give up 335 yards of offense to 0-7 teams.

TCU will slaughter you next week. You are going up against the No. 1 defense in the nation, IN FORT WORTH. Your QB and RB's may have looked like Heisman candidates against the hobos, but your run game will get shut down, and along with that will come pressure on your QB and interceptions. Besides which, TCU's offense isn't New Mexico's. And your "rock" if a defense that has actually kept you in games against cupcake teams all season WILL cave in to the Horned Frogs. I'm usually not this vocal towards Utah but I have gone all off season hearing about how superior Utah is, and the nonsense finally ends next Saturday.

And next season, 8 of your defensive starters leave. You could easily be 3-9 just like Michigan next year.
Anonymous | 10:36 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Anyone who roots for the Yewts to beat TCU is a fool. Its not going to happen and if it does, would keep the conference out of the BCS. Then again maybe that is what the Yewts want so they can hang on to the "we're the MWC saviors" fairytail for another year.

Enjoy San Diego, Yewts.
Yewts area Joke | 10:43 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Good job Utah. enjoy your win against New Mexico High....you are about to be hit between the eyes with a 2X4 by TCU. You won't know what hit you. Oh, and BYU will mop the floor with you.

Go TCU
Anonymous | 10:47 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
No way Utah scores just three against TCU. By midway through the 3rd quarter, TCU will have their 4th string quarterback and the band's flag team playing defense and the Yewts score at least two field goals.
true blue | 10:47 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I don't doubt Utah's ability to win big games. They hung tuff against Oregon and they have beat everyone else. Utah has not looked good but they continue to win. I think this is the week they get exposed but, you never know until you play the games. Trouble is, it would do the conference more good to have Utah lose and TCU represent the conference in the BCS. I would normaly be rooting for the Utes to win but I just don't see it happening. If they do win it would just add to the game against the cougars. I wish you luck Utes and I hope you get pummelled in Provo.
Utah Man | 10:50 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Football is a "what have you done for me lately" sport. Let's be realistic.

Utah- 2 BCS wins in 5 years

YBU- Does it have to be within a quarter-century to be recent?

TCU- If you listen to "Anonymous" you'd think they had done something.

What makes Utah a great team is that they have run the gauntlet...twice. Even if TCU beats Utah in a rebuilding year, they would still have to win their bowl to belong in the same sentence. Meanwhile...Utah will continue to "rebuild," and have a great shot at another undefeated season next year...not to mention an outside shot at a BCS game this year. I can't take any of you Ute-haters seriously.

SRS in AZ | 10:56 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Not too bad for a rebuilding year. You tds fans are so poisonous.
Seattleview | 10:58 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I am pulling for TCU to win and represent the MWC well in a BCS game. I also hope BSU does the same.

I expect Utah will provide a more competitive game against TCU than BYU did becuase Willingham is a better big game coach. Still, in the end, as was said all last week, a win is a win and a loss will still be a loss.

Save the BYU Utah trash talking for the week of the actual game. It will all be settled on the field.

Agree with Utah Man | 11:11 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Utah has 2 BCS wins in 5 years. And after losing 3 defensive players to the pros, and losing both of their cordinators, they respond with an 8-1 season so far. Wynn and Shakerin are freshman. Now TCU is very good, and I think they will likely win next week, but Utah has done great this year and will be even stronger the next 3 years.

Hey Kitties | 11:25 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
your all meowing how TCU is going to destroy the UTES. Seems like I heard that out of you before...Alabama is going to destroy you...yeah right. Why don't you go play with some soft yarn to go with your soft team that throws up when it comes to playing the BIG GAMES! Why are you even reading about the Utes?? Is your article about the wonders of Max Hall so boring that you need to come read about a REAL team? Know this...the Utes may lose to TCU and the Utes might just win. But right NOW..the Cougars are the ones that got destroyed by TCU are NOT ranked in the BCS and have a conference loss! So until Utah matches your heartless play against TCU learn to purr 'cause you certainly didn't roar!

Dear Utah,
Please beat TCU next week. I hate those stupid Horned Frogs and I would appreciate it if you could do what we could not. I think if you play your best you have a chance. Also, good luck when you come down here to Provo. I hope we both play the best we have all season so it will be a good game.
Love,
A BYU fan who also likes Utah

PS. Also please don't embarrass Max as much as you did last year. I don't know if he could deal with another round of "I intercepted a pass from Max Hall" jokes.
