if some wives didn't denigrade them for their less than perfect efforts. shut a guy down for trying early in the marriage, he'll remember it to his core...

luckily we can still afford the $360/month to have a cleaning person come in and clean our house once a week. As the male breadwinner I consider this my contribution to the housework, however i recognize my method to literally "buy out" of housework doesn't carry the same gratitude and sex appeal that it would if I did the work myself.

Poll: Do women just want the housework to get done, or do they want to see the man working as a demonstration of his commitment to the relationship/family (i.e. does male housework signify something other than just getting stuff done?)

Though having the housework done is nice, it means much more to have my husband actually helping with the work. It tells me he loves me enough to help with the chores I know he dislikes.

Whoever is home more, does more at home. It's only fair. If the husband is working full time and the wife is working part time, she doesn't have any right to complain that she does more around the house.

This photo taken Oct. 13, 2009 shows Peter Worden fixing dinner for his family at their home in Chatham, N.J., using a magazine that he discovered offers recipes for a month's worth of varied meals. After being laid off, Worden began carrying more of the load at home.
