Hey, wait a second, something seems horribly wrong and untrue, where is the greatest team to ever step foot on the field of play, the great blue and white of utah county fame, the vaunted "Vikings"???

Funny to see the class act of the PG program, the (mysterious transfer from Timpanogas) Krueger- not shaking hands with the the winning school again!!! I'm sorry I know he's a kid and a very good athlete, but can't he be coached up to show some class instead of being an embarrasment?

PG loses 3 of their last 4???? simply impossible. I say that because of the injustice of the whole debacle we start a petition for reinstatement into the semi-finals!! I am putting my name down as the first signee, I'm calling my motion.......

8-D-1- athletes is simply not enough!

How do you not have anything on the Hunter/LP football game?? Nice Job DUH News!
Bingham / Alta | 8:12 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Just as someone said in week 1, the championship game will be played a week early with the winner having to wait a week to pick up the hardware. This will be a great game between two great teams.

Mtn Crest v TV | 8:56 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
That will be a great game. Third meeting in 3 years. I bet Mtn Crest is pumped to finally win one.

Ill give you some info in the Hunter, Lone Peak game. Lone Peak has some outstanding athletes as does Hunter, but what in the world is BYU doing offering scholarships to kids who had never played varsity football. They didn't perform at all, didn't even seem like they knew where they should be....go figure.
Alta vs Bingham | 10:16 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Its nice to know the world is back in order in 5A football. This will be another epic game. Probably decided by 4 points or less, with both teams putting everything on the line. Everyone is going to be making score predictions and crazy promises, but lets remember how awesome this rivalry is.

Alta will try to stop Langi, Bingham will try to stop Alta's killer pass attack. I love this matchup so much because no matter what happened earlier in the season, this one is always a toss up.
Kruger | 10:58 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
That is unacceptable that a kid thinks he is too good to shake hands after a loss. What does that say about him as an athlete or his coaches as mentors? Absolutely pathetic. PG should have just kept their mouths shut and played all year instead of tooting their own horn. Karma! Joe Kruger needs to take some classes on how to shoe class and good sportsmanship in the offseason. Looks like he belongs at Utah...you can have him!
re: Mtn Crest v TV | 11:04 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
You are right. It will be a great matchup between these two teams in the semis again this year. Somehow TV always manages to pull it out, but this year may not be the case. It will come down to who has less turnovers and will probably be an offensive shootout. Both QB's are two of the best in the state. This is the true championship game. The other side of the bracket is a joke.
BYU | 11:30 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
that is BYU's problem. they offer scholarships to kids they haven't even seen play half the time. then they expect the really good athletes who are lds out of the state of utah, especially, to walk on because it is "the right thing to do" so that they have more scholarships available to give to more non lds kids they have never seen play. it is a joke. no wonder they fall apart every season. they need to start rewarding the hard working lds kids in utah who go other places because they have a scholarship offer and feel appreciated. it is a JOKE.

The TV-MC game is the State 4a Championship. Why the the UHSAA doesn't seed the #1 and #2 on opposite brackets makes no sense. Just wait til the season is over, the seed the brackets. Please tell me why Dixie -who cannot win the 3A region- gets 2 home games. Lastly, Springville and Dixie should be playing in a consolation bracket, not for a state champinship spot. Please, UHSAA seed at the season's end.

Were any of you at the game? Kruger took a knee after the final whistle and sat there for a while but he did go shake hands with the Davis team. not to mention he made his way over and talked to a few of the Davis fans and players after the game. I dont know what your talking about. KRUGER DID shake hands
Anonymous | 12:56 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Joe Kruger came around eventually and shook hands, ive read these comments and my son who plays for davis said that he shook his hand, he is a great player and has a right to be upset about his loss, him not shaking hands at the start is just a statement of how much the kid loves to play and is not preoccupied with a d 1 scholarship it just showed that he loved to play highschool football.
Davis Player | 12:58 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
What do you mean Joe Kruger didnt shake hands after the game? I know for a fact he did. Know how? Because I could miss someone in the line that is that tall.
Davis Fan | 2:16 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Another comment on Kruger. My son plays on the Davis team. He shook his hand after the game. I know the PG players were upset after the loss, but I hung around after the game for awhile, and they are great kids who love the game. We can't blame them for getting scholarships that coaches from colleges offer them. Good luck to them. Their coach must do a good job promoting its players. Just ask Bryan Kariya (BYU) The 5A MVP and had to walk on.

Kruger shook hands and spent time talking to davis players and fans he was standing right behind me. He did take a knee but he was upset, he loves his team and so do all the other seniors, i mean it was a tragedy to them because they all have VIKING PRIDE and that was the last time they'd put on those jersey's. They consider themselves a family thats what the FAF on there neck stands for. Kruger is not prideful enough to not congratulate Davis on there EARNED win.

God for the 8 Division 1 recruits. obviously college coaches see talent and exteneded scholarships to them. And people are bagging on them? Why? Because coaqch didnt put you in the game when you could have thrown the football over that mountain uncle rico?
Dear pathetic | 6:23 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Did you mean something on that game other than the story that ran? What more did you want?
Re Cache | 7:06 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
You do realize that Dixie is the team that almost beat Mountain Crest on their home field last year right? And that since Dixie's first region game (when they were still adjusting to a new defensive scheme) they have allowed 10.2 points per game and put up 34.2 points per game. If they can beat a good Springville team this week without their starting QB, basically their entire offensive gameplan, when he comes back the following week you will see why they've won their last seven games and have gotten to the point they have. The only trophies being awarded this week are for 1A and 2A so finish the season before talk like that comes up.
re re Cache | 7:39 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
"You do realize that Dixie is the team that almost beat Mountain Crest on their home field last year right?"

Remember, almost only counts in horshoes and hand-grenades.

Enough said.
Horseshoes and hand-grenades | 8:40 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
In this case it means they are a team capable of competing and winning even against the "juggernauts." And for that matter Springville is, too.
Hurricane warning | 9:07 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
74-7 followed by 41-9 romps? The Tigers have outscored their two playoff opponents, 115-16.

Much of this scoring was done by the second and third units...watch out Park City!
