The cowboy fans are true fans. Every home team should be this lucky.
Ute fans | 9:54 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Ute fans also love to take advantage of BYU setbacks to pelt coaches and radio announcers. They especially love to do it when Cougar fans will be blamed.

It's happened before.

I wonder if Wyoming fans are crazy enough to throw eggs at their own coaches cars and harass their QBs wife like BYU fans do?

Re: Ute fans | 6:52 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009

what a cheap shot!!!

Ute fans will send flowers and candy to BYU coaching staff after a blow out loss like TCU.
While we enjoy the loss, we understand the need to comfort the coaches --making them feel like the loss is not the end of the world, encouraging them to stay the course
To BYU coaches... | 6:53 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
...Following the Cougars' 38-7 loss to TCU, defensive coordinator Jaime Hill's house and car were reportedly pelted by eggs, an act presumably done by at least one frustrated Cougar fan...

Stay the course --don't let these idiots bother you!

As a lifelong BYU fan, and as much as I'd like to blame the stupidity on the Yewts, I'm not ignorant to a certain slim minority of deft BYU fans. This could very well be the source of the egging of coach Hill's car, but it bothers me a little that Hill just assumes BYU fans did it. Again, certainly by no means impossible, but if the incident had occured after the FSU meltdown (which was almost entirely the BYU D'd fault) then I think his assumption would be more accurate. Either way, the coaches should understand there are some stupid fans out there and not convince themselves everyone feels that way. Sounds like the jokers in the media have the BYU coaches convinced all the fans hate them. Not true. The media might, but there is still a very significant, albeit less vocal, portion of the fan base that highly approves of 99% of what the BYU coaching staff are doing.
I wonder why... | 7:13 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
...Opponents love to run trick plays against BYU...

could it be BYU defense is vulnerable in defending plays that are not on film?
Crazy? | 7:43 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Unusual that 8,000 fans can really get "crazy", but I guess all the sane ones stay at home...which doesn't say much about the fans in Laramie.

I love the Cougars and I love the coaching staff. But, let's be clear about something Coach Hill: Yes, the team is 6-2. Yes they are in the top 25, and were only out of it once in 10 weeks of ratings; But, Coach Mendenhall made it clear to start the season and expressed publically the same that the goals of the team were to win the 'State Tourney, Jury is still out on that one with a game left against the Utes. Second was to win all their home games. 2-2 means that goal was not met. Third was to win the MWC. Not happening unless the yewts pull out a miracle in Ft. Worth...aint going to happen folks. Fourth goal was to go to a bowl game and win it.

So, as much as I love you Coach Hill, the fact is the cougars are an obvious 1 out of 3 on their goals.

TCU is 8-0. Yewts 7-1. Nuff said.
Wyoming Fans | 7:59 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I have been to 5 or 6 games in Laramie. I have never had any trouble and always buy my tickets as close to the middle of the stadium as possible and in the middle of the Wyoming Fans. While a number of the fans are typically drunk and shouting out nonsensical anti-mormon slurs, most are well behaved and stay to themselves. The natives of Wyoming are salt of the earth good people I used to live there.

you people make me laugh. You are such losers
Go Cougs | 9:22 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I have been as dissapointed as any fan at the showing against FSU and TCU. I needed a bye week myself but am back ready to root the Cougs on to another 10-win season. I hope all Cougar fans recognize, despite historic struggles against top-25 caliber teams, just how much our team does achieve. Yeah, the kids lacked heart and passion against FSU and TCU. But overall, these kids OVERACHIEVE year in and year out. Don't forget that BYU is the toughest place to recruit top level talent to. And the top level talent that does come serve missions for the most part. No coaching staff, outside of our own, in the country would want to try to win with those handicaps. And yes they are handicaps not advantages!! And yet the Cougs continue to win consistently. Great kids, great coaches, great program, and every fan ought to be back and rejuvinated after a needed fan bye week as well. Jamie Hill - you gotta know that what happened to represents an incredibly small percentage of Cougar fans. Most would have been ready to knock heads right along with you! Go Cougs!!
Re: Ute fans | 9:31 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
C'mon now! Obviously, this was childlike, immature behavior at it's best, but, certainly, there is no evidence whatsoever as to who performed this cowardly act. Almost as childish, however, is to cast suspicion upon anyone without proof. There are plenty of die hard, immature knuckleheads from both sides that could have done this. Let's just say that we feel badly for J. Hill and disgusted with the perpetrators. Let's all pull together on this one and not blame one side or the other. Let's all be grownups! Go Utes...Go Cougars!
Re: Go Cougs | 9:50 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Yes, BYU's academic standards, religious affiliation, and strict honor code make the majority of potential Division I athletes seek out other football programs. In many respects, the programs most like BYU are probably the three service academies. I respect all four schools for what they stand for, and for who they are.

That being said, my guess is that Navy, Air Force, and Army face greater recruiting obstacles than BYU. When it comes to talent, I bet any of the three service academy coaches would trade Bronco straight up.

Ernest T. Bass | 9:52 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
What everyone needs to realize is that Utah will never be as good as BYU in football. Utah will never be able to recruit the awesome talent that BYU recruits. Utah will never have a coach like Coach Bornco. Bornco is so awesome, humble and righteous.

As soon as we all realize this fact, we can then all bow down at the altar of BYU's mightiness.
A Ute spotted on Grassy Knoll | 9:57 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I am sure that some Utah fan is the perpetrator of most, if not all, unsolved, heinous crimes.

C'mon now, aren't you guys a little embarrassed?
Coach Hill | 10:03 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
When coach hill said it could have been ugly that means he would have had to catch the eggers. If he's anything like his defense, I don't think he would have caught anyone with that 20 yard cushion.
Ute Fan | 10:28 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Wow you guys do take your football serious down there in happy valley. I suggest Coach Hill and Coach Mendenhall park their vehicles in a garage when they get beat by Wyoming today. Take the bus to practices for the rest of the year. Ban the sale of eggs in all stores the day of the UTE game. Utah 24 BYU 10.

Go UTES
Trick or Treat | 10:29 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Apparently Utah County residents need to be given a primer on Halloween. As scary and frightening as the loss to TCU was, it was not Halloween. Thus, you were a few weeks early on the whole egging thing.
You're welcome for the information.
Trick | 11:23 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
"TRICK OR TREAT: Opponents love to run trick plays against BYU."

Unfortunately that's true and the reason is because they work so often. I'm wondering if our coaches will ever catch on to them.
Brandon Bradley's interview | 11:59 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
I was listening to Brandon Bradley's interview on the pre-game show today and he was asked about the citicism from fans. He said it made the players feel like not playing as hard and said the negative fans were fairweather.

Note to Brandon and the rest of BYU's players and coaches: If that's how it's making you feel then YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND the reason behind the citicism. Fans are doing this BECAUSE WE CARE!!! Yes! We care a lot about the team, the program, and that you be successful and achieve the goals that Bronco has stated publicly. If we didn't care then you wouldn't hear from us whether you did well or not.

Darnell Dickson: "...losses happen. Getting worked at home and never mounting a challenge to come back? That speaks to a lack of heart and desire, which has always been a trademark of Bronco Mendenhall teams. Someone -- coaches, captains, anyone -- needs to light a fire under these guys."

Get some fire or you're gonna keep hearing about it from the fans, although I totally disagree with egging the coach's property.
Brandon Bradley's int. | 12:03 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
cRiticism, not citicism. Sheesh, I can't believe I spelled it wrong twice in my post. I'm going to have to start using a spell checker.

Amen Ernest! Always remember your place. Below BYU.
