You won't see Fox News covering this news. You won't have Glenn Beck bringing this up. I'm biased, I guess. I never felt welcome home as a veteran returning from Rush Limbaugh's generation's war.

You returned, you were shunned and you learned to shut up about serving your nation or you faced rejection. I never saw a welcome home sign nor did I get welcome home money. We got HD and bubble gum. If you're a vet you know what HD is about. :-)

I'm glad these vets get some recognition even if some of it is phony.

Kids, talk is cheap. Ask any veteran. I'm a vet out of work. I know, no one gives a darn about me. Don't waste your time expecting anyone to extend a hand to you.

Actually, their are many who care a whole heck of a lot about Veteran's. Those that are on the front lines helping the Veterans are there because they truly care. As a volunteer I have often felt frustrated because I felt like the people at the top do not understand the needs of the Veteran's,I do have hope things will improve. Those serving the Veteran's, on the front lines...DO Understand. Their are services in place right now to help. If you are jobless and/or homeless I recommend contacting the VA Hospital, either the homeless coordinator, Human Resources, and/or volunteer services. Do not give up. Their is help, you just need to be persistent.
