If Dems can achieve three key objectives in the coming year, Dems will keep their power position: One, if the economy improves and jobs return. Two, if they get key legislation passed, such as healthcare, energy, etc., they'll have a track record to claim victories. And finally, if they can get closure (or near-closure with solid target dates for troops returning home) on the wars in Iraq and Afganistan, the war-fatigued American people will be pleased.

I, for one Republican, no longer get too excited when I see a Republican win. The did it big a few years ago & what good did it do? They did not have the GUTS to stand up to that other party & do what we put them in there to do, so I could not care less who wins any more. I am just sitting back & waiting for Christ to return & hope I live to see it. :) Thank you, "IF" you post this.

Was Republicans being elected as Mayor or members of City Councils across the country "a backlash against President Barack Obama's governance or not?"

The absurdity of this question is that Mayors, City Councilmen and Governors aren't running for federal office and voters vote for them based on local and not federal or state issues. Where did Democrats win on election day? In the races where the issues were federal and not local or state.

It is a credible accomplishment when Democrats keep and pick up the only two federal seats up for their vote. If you want to talk about state issues and why many vote for Republican Governors while voting for Democratic Congressmen then that's fine but don't think that anyone with any common sense believes for a minute that a city council race indicates how people feel about their Governor or a Gubernatorial race indicates how they feel about the President or Congress but Congressional races do.

Wow! Two, count 'em-two!-dumb dem congressmen. Sounds like a landslide victory all right for lefty libs. We republicans are shaking in our boots. Bonnie (a big lib) is fearful also-with good reason.

The increasing unemployment of democrats will naturally result in an overall improvement in the economy.

Silver conservative are in a constant state of fear. There were only two congressional seats up for grabs. Only 20% of Americans call themselves republicans. People like yourself are driving people away.

An oracle you're not. Liberals earn more than conservatives. This is because we are more likely to have an university degree. It's the employees in construction and other fields dominated by conservatives that has been hit the hardest. Nice try.

Vote Democratic-its easier than working for a living and paying your own bills!
