It is beacuse of this rule and others like it that I as a fan try to go to football games and publicly criticize the officials every time they blow a call. The coaches or players can not do it, so I have to, to let them know that someone is watching and paying attention to their screw ups. I have witnessed at least 17 game changing blown calls this year that would have had a different effect on the outcome of the game if they were called correctly. This would inclued both calls made and not made that should have been. Now if only Urban could keep his players from gougeing out their opponents eyes.

Sorry, the officials should be criticized, especially when they miss something like a hit on the QB. If the coach is on a tirade about the officiating, then ok, but to say, hey you missed this call, then it seems a steep fine for something that is really stupid.

The Politician finally got smacked in the mouth. He thinks he owns the SEC.

Fine? | 12:22 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Referees take a lot of criticism that they don't deserve. It's not an easy job, nobody's perfect, and they're often unfairly expected to be.

But outright banning any criticism of the officiating isn't going to help anything. It only fosters an atmosphere of antagonism between the officials and the coaches and athletes they work with week in and week out.

The guy makes 4,000,000 a year and they fine him 30,000?

Boy that really hurts.

He does own the SEC.
Meyer the hypocrite  | 10:14 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Urban Meyer complaining about SEC officiating is like a super lottery winner complaining that one of the corners of their oversized check is slightly bent.

Florida has been carried by the SEC officials all season. What did he say to get into trouble? "I wish that the officials wouldn't let the games get so close before they fix it for us to win."

What a hypocrite!
