A gun crazy nation. These are the results. Not less street crime, just more mass murders.

99.9% of gun owners are more or less responsible with their weapons. It's that crazy .1% that wreak so much havoc.

For the record, I consider myself politically moderate to liberal (and don't own any firearms), but I think the problem lies less with access to weapons than with a culture that glorifies violence. Again, most of us will act rationally and civilly, but there's that tiny sliver of the population that will be inspired and/or desensitized due to the violent movies, books, video games, etc. and will act in a harmful way.

On the other hand, it certainly doesn't help that guns are so incredibly easy to come by. The combination of easy access to guns and a culture that glorifies violence is a recipe to equip a handful of disturbed people with the necessary tools, plans, and thought processes to cause the rest of us a lot of grief.

Mass murders and shootings still happen even in nations where supposedly nobody has guns. It's overused, but there's some truth in the saying that when guns are outlawed, only criminals will have guns.

Too bad the gunman isn't dead. Could've done us all a favor and shot himself instead.

I know it sounds harsh. Maybe he was really wronged and somebody there pushed him over the edge. I could picture finding that one person who truly deserves it and taking them out. Still wrong, still murder, but revenge is human.

But running around shooting randomly at everybody? No. Sorry, but you just lost the benefit of the doubt. This guy made the wrong choice. He should've shot himself yesterday.

The first commenter is definitely right about one thing: the "crazy" part. People in this nation are cracking apart. This is just crazy.

Anonymous, you are blaming the weapon for the crime not the criminal...it's getting old

We can't blame guns because guns don't kill. What religion was he?

What was the shooter's religion? They were pretty quick to point out yesterday's shooter's religion.
