Bro Chuck's Rant n Rave's | 9:56 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Sen. Bennett has HIS finger's in this pie way to long. Vote him out in 2010. Separation of powers, checks and balances, enumerated powers, independent state governments, frequent elections, impeachment processes, the right to bear arms, an independent private sector, property rights, the right to petition government for redress of grievances, freedoms of speech and press etc, was all created through Judicial Activist Judge's, and, Special Interest groups plus bureaucrats, for control of power, through these people. A fine example, of this, is in a new DVD, that just came out, titled "FOOD, Inc.", a Robert Kenner film. In it, you'll see the few GIANT's that control everything we do, how we live and what we are forced to eat etc., these same people have powerful seats, and are in Congress also, apointed by the President as well, both on the GOP and Democrat side, and, with these people running the show, we can't and will not be able to limit government ever, until they are all gone from those seats, no matter how long we all whine about a smaller government. It's time to stand up, and, face the truth.
1st ad was in January | 10:52 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Bennett started running TV ads last Winter.

In March of this year Senator Bob Bennett was rated one of the ten most liberal Republicans in the Senate by Human Events based on the American Conservative Union Ratings for 2008. Why Bennett would pay money to convince voters he is Conservative is beyond me.

Funny how he runs an anti-government run healtcare bill when he proposed one himself. I will be very surprised if Bennett makes it out of convention
Rant and Raving | 11:29 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Yes, that's what we need more of thse days. More ranting and railing?? I'm sorry brother chuck, but I have read your rant several times and it doesn't flow for me. Senator Bennett is a good man who has served the State of Utah well during his time back there. He is now a powerful member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and Utah needs all of the help it can get in competing for its fair share of power and influence in comparison to other states. you throw him out now after 17 years, Utah has to start all over at the bottom of the pecking order. there will be no shortage of bright-eyed bushy tailed ambitious people who believe it's their foreordained right to be a Senator, but absent a few sour votes, Bennett deserves to be re-elected in my opinion. He likely only has 1 more term in him anway. Why throw him out right at the Zenith of his power, influence, experience? Only in Utah would Bennett be considered a "liberal." That's an absolute joke. He's solidly conservative.
Progressive Democrat | 1:24 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Isn't that an Oxy-moron? With emphasis on "moron?" So many "progressives" delude themselves with arrogant elitism that their views are so much more enlightened than conservatism. It's possible to be so progressive that you run full-circle, and from a grander view, are actually regressing, especially with regards to social and economic policies that promote family decay, collective responsibility versus individual, and emphasizing a top-town governance otherwise known as a "nanny-state" in its earlier stages, which history has shown can mestatize quite quickly into fascist or marxist type dictatorships.
DUMP Senator RINO Bob Bennett  | 1:59 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Senator Bob Bennett was NEVER fearlessly confronting the high priests Nobama of the Church of Liberalism. ACORNS their HIGH god inside their Church of Liberalism. Though liberalism rejects the idea of God and reviles people of faith, it bears all the attributes of a religion itself. In Godless, she throws open the doors of the Church of Liberalism, showing us: its sacraments (abortion) its holy writ (Roe v. Wade) its martyrs (from Soviet spy Alger Hiss to cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal) its clergy (public school teachers) its churches (government schools, where prayer is prohibited but condoms are free) its doctrine of infallibility (as manifest in the "absolute moral authority" of spokesmen from Cindy Sheehan to Max Cleland) and its cosmology (in which mankind is an inconsequential accident) Then, of course, there's the liberal creation myth: Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. For liberals, evolution is the touchstone that separates the enlightened from the benighted. But Coulter neatly reverses the pretense that liberals are rationalists guided by the ideals of free inquiry and the scientific method.

FIRE RINO Senator Bennett  | 2:05 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Bennett NEVER spoke here. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has directed nearly $100,000 from her political action committee to her husband's real estate and investment firm over the past decade, a practice of paying a spouse with political donations that she supported banning last year. Financial Leasing Services Inc. (FLS), owned by Paul F. Pelosi, has received $99,000 in rent, utilities and accounting fees from the speaker's "PAC to the Future" over the PAC's nine-year history. The payments have quadrupled since Mr. Pelosi took over as treasurer of his wife's committee in 2007, Federal Election Commission records show. FLS is on track to take in $48,000 in payments this year alone - eight times as much as it received annually from 2000 to 2005, when the committee was run by another treasurer. Lawmakers' frequent use of campaign donations to pay relatives emerged as an issue in the 2006 election campaigns, when the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal gave Democrats fodder to criticize Republicans such as former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay of Texas and Rep. John T. Doolittle of California for putting their wives on their campaign and PAC payrolls for fundraising work.
No more Bennett in Senate | 2:46 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
The man has taken hundreds of thousands in campaign contributions from the banking industry and sits as the head of the senate banking committee. Talk about conflict of interest and corruption!
Bag Bennett | 2:46 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
We should thank Bennett for his service, and let him retire. He has got too liberal for me. He is in the top 10% in spending, has more earmarks than I don't know who, and thinks he should be bringing home the bacon.

I wan't to keep what I have and not have him spend more than we have to.

He failed us re: Banks, and Healthcare.

we need a change.
YOUR FIRED Senator Bennett  | 4:15 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
The Congress and Senate and Senator Bob Bennett plus Hatch spend our money on personal foolishness, anything for a vote.

The House of Representatives think that proving a baseball player took steroids is more important than the millions of really pressing issues they were elected to deal with.

The whole point boils down to this. The people in Washington just ain't listening to the people who sent them up there. They turn a deaf ear to the problems that are eating this nation alive while Henry Waxman and company follow a television camera around like a dog after a juicy bone.

That's not the way it's supposed to work, they're supposed to be =he House of Representatives. They're supposed to be representing we the people, =nstead they're grandstanding. If some pitcher who played a couple of years in the majors and had an undistinguished career had done washtub full of steroids a day I'll guarantee you Senator Bob Bennett and the Congress couldn't care less. Bennett yearly has taken hundreds of thousands in campaign contributions from the banking industry and sits as the head of the senate banking committee ?. DUMP BENNETT.

Bennett is the guy | 8:07 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
He knows this stuff cold, and he's a solid conservative. Nice to see the Eagar people out in full force, though. Would have been nice if she could have been just a tiny bit gracious to Mark Shurtleff on his way out.

Eagar is loony. Bridgewater is a three-time loser. Bennett is the guy.
Anonymous | 9:51 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009

And to "Bennett is the guy," methinks you give the Eager folks to much credit. Just because you are anti Bennett doesn't mean you have to be pro Eager. Bennett's record stands on its own. Why do we keep voting the same idiots into office so they can get more and more power? They need to remember that they work for us. Here in Utah, we give our politicians free reign based on their party affiliation. We need to be watching the foxes who are guarding the henhouse a little more closely.
Frustrated | 10:06 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
The problem with the idea, "Health-care reform should be based on free-market principles", is that these principles mean that insurance companies and the health care industry stand to make the most profit by charging exorbitant amounts and covering very little. Rather than trying to hurt American's with these concepts and completely trying to defeat healthcare, perhaps the Republican party could devise a "non-profit" insurance company.
dissapointed | 10:06 p.m. Nov. 7, 2009
all I can say is I am dissapointed in Bob Bennett for stooping to the level of low!
What about Bob | 6:09 a.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Bob, you can't sell it anymore. We are not buying it anymore. You are on the list of removal and your buddy Hatch is next!
Hopeful | 8:58 a.m. Nov. 8, 2009
This absurdity of no government health care flies in the face of all posters who will one day use Medicare.
Sometimes the logic speaks more to cognitive dissonance than to awareness.

Sad that this once fine leader has decided that the politics of confusion and ideology is the rhetoric of the campaign. The time has come for us to put down our ideological swords and focus on real solutions to the problems of your time. The evolution of knowledge moves forward, we need to cultivate new leaders who can respond accordingly.
Bennett HAS government-run.... | 9:15 a.m. Nov. 8, 2009
...health care!

He has health insurance through the Federal Employees' Health Benefits Program AND is eligible for Medicare.

OK, Bennett. IF you are against government-run health care, why haven't you dropped out of both of those systems?

In fact, I challenge ALL politicians who are against health care reform, to drop their own coverage.

Come on, Chaffetz, Hatch, Matheson, Bishop and Bennett. DROP YOUR GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE BENEFITS!

We dare you! Stand up for what you're saying or forever be a hypocrite!
Pathetic | 11:51 a.m. Nov. 8, 2009
The infighting among the GOP is a surefire recipe for their disaster. Their only interest is re-election, and they will say anything, including half-truths to reach their goal.

Not a one of em cares a lick about you or I.
Anonymous | 12:03 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
When you lack merits you are left with vilifying others. Attacking our present, should have a positive effect on negative conservatives. He needs to hold a series of whine in throughout Utah were conservatives can communally commiserate.
Pagan | 12:50 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Idiot.
Americans | 2:01 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
It is really a shame Bob Bennett et al are rooting for the President to fail. Because, if the President fails, Americans fails. Did we not learn that from the Bush administration?

It is really a shame Bob Bennett puts his political party above America.
FEHB is NOT GOV'T RUN | 2:08 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
To the vociferous know-it-all criticizing Senator Bennett for having "government run" health care through FEHB. You are completely wrong. I'm a federal employee as well. Our health plans are not government run! THe government simply pays for it as an employer-provided benefit, just like private sector. The government employee can choose from several plans, but it's the private insurance providing the coverage, not the federal government. So get your facts straight, people! There is so much disinformation out there. Democrats have spun this thing into a huge mess in order to make a straw-man to enact their socialistic plans. If Pelosi care, heaven forbid, is signed into law, it WILL be federal control of all of our plans, regardless of public or private. If you loved the government's response to Hurricane Katrina, or getting flu vaccine out this fall, then you'll absolutely Love Pelosi care, and the huge tax increases it brings in order to cover Illegal aliens and abortion. (They'll just sneak those provisions back into the final bill in the conference committee). VOTE OUT THE DEMOCRATS WHO VOTED FOR THIS BILL!
Chris B.  | 2:50 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
I love when the liberals squirm when a conservative calls them out and tells the truth.
Anonymous | 2:54 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
vote democrat - its easier than getting a job
Anonymous | 3:04 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Gosh, I had no idea Bennett was running against Obama. Bennett is a lying weasel. I have lost all respect for him.
Bottem Line: | 3:38 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
There's no such thing as a RINO anymore because all the Republican Party itself stands for Dick Gephart liberalism.

Constitution Party, AIP, and Liberitariens are the only conservative left.

Bob Bennett is a liberal and bashing a fellow liberal doesn't make himm any more conservative.
fine | 3:44 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Hats off to Mr. Bennett on this one. Where were you when the insane govt. was passing spending bills that have driven us to the brink of bankruptcy as a country? We are a Christian nation. If you repent and stop with the same old spending sins, we might reconcider re-electing you.
OBAMA | 4:17 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Obama, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, Barney the Frank, all....allllll.... all are disastors and must be replaced before they totally destroy this nation.

I'm disgusted the Republicans haven't been more agressive......at least Sen. Bennett has woke up....
Wake up, Utah | 4:35 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Now is the time that we need to kick out the Republicans in the Senate with tenure, longstanding relationships with their colleagues, committee chairmanships, and experience and replace them with greenies.

This message brought to you by the Democratic Party.
Public Service Announcement | 4:37 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Just a reminder that apostrophes are not used to make words plural. They make contractions and possessive forms.

Wrong: Senator's like Bennett need to go.
Right: Tenured senators like Bennett are the GOP's last line of defense against the Democratic super-majority.
WOKE UP (4:17) | 6:25 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
BOB?

He's an INCUMBENT.

He's a REPUBLICAN.

He votes against AMERICA spending money on her own people.

He votes for 700 BILLION + to be spent on Iraq.

VOTE FOR BOB.
Thank you | 8:41 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
Senator Bennett for standing up against making the next chapter in American History Chapter 13.
2 term Bob | 10:00 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009
He promised us only two terms and now is running for a 4th. To be fair, he is head and shoulders above Hatch. As for his new book out on religion I admire it and want to read it, but the cynic in me says if he got the idea in 2002 to write it, why publish it now, unless it is to be rolled out when he needed reelection. Bob voted for TARP for which I do honestly admire him. Romney would have also voted for TARP.
@2 term Bob | 1:42 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
Bennett better than Hatch?
No way. Bennett is one of the main problems back in DC. Hatch has been back there too long, but if they were running against each other, I would vote for Hatch in a heart beat.

Bob's Okay | 10:38 p.m. Nov. 9, 2009
He's a good senator overall, but I think he's misread the anger in the electorate that is about fed up with the government and its incompetence.
