Jazz Defense was the Key | 12:28 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Williams (as always) and Boozer (sparingly) came up big tonight! As Jazz fans, we should be proud. Also Wes Matthews looks promising. The key to tonight's win though was defense. We shut pretty much everybody down on the entire Spurs team. Even though Parker had a great game, we still were able to stop him when it counted and held strong to the end. If the Jazz can continue with this defense, they will be unstoppable!

My cable went out last night. Something about not paying the bill. Has anyone ever listened to Darrel Lock. I need to get some money together.
This was a great win | 8:39 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
over what is supposed to be the 2nd best team in the West. The Jazz ran their offense, out rebounded SA and did not get bombed from the outside. Miracles do happen. However, it is only one game and at home. They look like the Jazz of last year. They can and do come up big against top teams at home but lose to them on the road and clunk up home games against supposed weak teams like HOU.

Is this year different or is the SA game an fluke? Will they start winning against weaker teams on the road? Will they beat some run and gun teams (maybe NY)? Can they steal one at BOS or CLE?

At least the new and improved Jazz? Do not look like road kill. Well maybe we should win a road game before I type that.

Brad is right...it will be one loopy ride.....up and down....which will mean approx a 45 win season....its the same team as last year folks..so I'm not sure how anything is gonna change

my cable is out too. Locke isn't terrible, but some times I wish he would just say what the players did instead of some fancy wording. Anyway I watched the game on the internet and it was good.

The Spurs always start out slow. It's after the allstar break that they become unbeatable. This win doesn't mean much until we back it up with a string of wins.

Good thing Matthews showed up with all the injuries. I am surprised that Harpring doesnt report that he is out for the season. I can see him not wanting to retire and lose his salary. But you would think the Jazz would report more on him.
Jazz will not win again | 9:08 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Until they bring Mighty Jay Humphries aout of retirement.

I saw Curtis Borchardt and Eli Manning at the game last night, it wasnt much of a game I thought teh Jazz looked horrible. Go red

Locke is terrible... Get him some help!!!!!!!!!!!

Harpring has a guaranteed contract, he gets paid no matter if he is retired or not. Not announcing retirement is probably at the request of the Jazz so that he can either be a part of a trade to make numbers match or for a team looking to dump a roster stop. Additionally, if he does not retire and is reported as injured all year, the Jazz have an insurance policy that will cover most of his salary. His salary would still count as part of the salary cap penalty, but the Jazz would get some money relief from the insurance.

Go Jazz!
Jazz TV | 11:16 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
I have not listened to Locke but I am sure he is not worse than Ron Boone. Ron is the worst anouncer in the league. I have never heard a guy that can not complete a thought or a sentance.

Can you trade anouncers?
Rhino | 2:11 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
I would trade Booner and Locke for $20, three tacos, and an announcer to be named later. You can time Booner's sentences with an hour glass, and Locke can talk for 10 minutes straight and not say anything. You are missed Hot Rod.

Does anybody know if Bill Marcroft is still alive?

He'd be my choice to replace any of the Jazz radio/TV announcers. He sure knew how to deliver a sports broadcast.
