Best Quote of the year:

It's not like Sloan got volunteers, either.

"I didn't hear anybody say they'd want to guard him," Sloan said. "Maybe it's my hearing."

Good point. A tough player would have taken up the challenge to stop Dirk. Taken on the challenge. But honestly, Boozer is not a great player, nor is AK or Millsap. No one stepped up and that's why it was a "L" at the end of the night.

has been bad until tonight. I think a lot of it may be tempo. The Jazz score more easily and get back on D when they play a faster tempo. Sloan mentioned that after tonight's game.

What amazes me is that Sloan knows what to do but much of the time it does not get done. I am not sure if it is the players who don't do what they are supposed to or if it is Sloan who just does not make them do it.

Anyway at least the Jazz are back to Jeckle and Hyde which is a great improvement. Now if they can just become a good road team. They also struggle with run and gun teams.

Tonight they did not get bombed from the outside and out rebounded SA with a short line up (shock).

This team can play when it wants to. Why does it not want to more often?

Jerry breaks down the issues well here, but the point is he has to get the players to do it not just tonight because the game was on TNT

Isn't interesting that when the Jazz lose - bloggers come out of the woodwork with their negative comments about players, managers, and the coach - and giving them all their "expert" advice in what should have been done. Hundreds of such comments were listed last week.

Where are they now after the win against San Antonio? Silent!

At last we see the Boozer we knew we had. Nobody needs to shoot the coach, or trade the players, patience and let them work things out seems to be the recipe.

Great game as in way to stop one of the leagues giants. I smiled as I watched Poppovich, the game did not go the way he wanted it to go and he was unhappy.

Sloan sent in Boozer each time Timmy came off the bench and Boozer was up to the task, stealing, poking and scoring.

Good overall effort by the Jazz.
Slaon? | 10:04 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
He NEVER plays rookies.

He NEVER develops rookies.

He NEVER adjusts the offense to let players play to their strengths.

He and O Conner NEVER draft well.

OOPS!!

Can you say Matthews!!!

Sloan and O Conner picked him, developed him, played him, and left him on the floor despite the fact Matthews played to his strength by putting the ball on the floor on the perimeter and drove through the heart of Spur defense to the basket for layups.

Let me count the proof of how incorrect you all with all these supposed "NEVERS" by Jerry Sloan that you dredge up after every loss.

Deron Williams, Ronnie Brewer, Paul Millsap, CJ Miles, Fesenko, Maynor, and Matthews.

All drafted, developed, and successful NBA players.

Sure there are plenty of misses but if you have any integrity you will also admit that when you go back and review prior drafts there are REAMS of high draft picks that are total busts and not even playing.

Where do the Jazz draft every year except Williams? Sub 15 in the first round and then the second round which exponentially increases your chances for failure.

Put a sock in it.

Williams says

"All that really matters is on the court," Jazz point guard Deron Williams said. "You can not like somebody or not get along with somebody, but when you step on the court, you have to want to play with them."
Story continues below

Plus, Williams added, the Jazz get along fine. Players even got together for a Halloween party last Saturday.

"I think, for the most part, we do," he said. "We've just got to put it together."

What a bunch of disingenuous lies. Seriously.

I guess he has to be the good soldier and say the right things to the press.

You can tell the way he parsed his statements that he does not really mean what he says.

That said he sure seems to have no problem passing the ball to Booz. I think he gives it to him too much sometimes making our offense too one-dimensional. We do better when more people are involved like last night....double digits by every starter.

Jerry you are still the coach. If the players are not doing what you ask them to do, that means two things:

Either they don't respect you

or

You need to start benching them.

Boozer won't be gone soon enough. He doesn't want to be here, we don't want him here . Get him out before he destroys the team koc!

JazzFanThru&Thru | 11:51 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Last night's game was the bomb! They played well - and those at the game were, for the most part, supportive of all the players, including Booze. (Couple more games like that and I may be able to break out my #5 jersey without getting pounded when I step into ESA.) :)

I hate when people crawl out of the woodwork to criticize the team when they have an off night and call them a horid team with no future! We are so lucky to have a team here and I get so tired of people thinking they have all the answers. If you really do - why are you stuck sitting at your computer blogging about how they need to change. Get a clue. Your not there because you don't know what you're doing!!

They have good games - they have bad. If a team didn't, they'd never lose. Best thing about the Jazz though is that they are OUR team - Win or Lose! If you don't like it, don't watch it! But don't give me your worthless opinions unless you're the one out there playing the game!

Go Jazz - And Go Boozer!

This is what I find funny. Hypocritical. Now the Jazz win one game and all of Jerrys supporters come on here and rip the ones a little more critical.

Most of these people were not even posting on here defending him, when they lost those last 2 games.

Again, please understand to the supporters aka "sloanaholics"

I wish SLoan would do great he leaves with glory and we win a ton of games. I do not think anyone wants to be critical. However, these issues that are criticized I feel have to be brought out-because they happen again and again...

We would all like to be on here talking about the game and it players and not question the methodss, motivation blah blah....

That does not mean we are not fans and true fans. At least on my end. I have lived and died with the Jazz since the last year in New Orleans. I would listen to every broadcast losing 55-60 games yearly

Why would I and sure many others do this if we were not fans and did not care?

My personal opinion, is Matt Harpring should be here in Utah. He's getting paid millions of dollars by the Jazz organization, why does he get a free pass just to hang out in ATL? Shouldn't he at least be here doing some community work, coaching to some degree, something? He's one of my favorite Jazz players ever, but he should be here in Utah.
todd to anonymous | 2:44 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
I agree with you completely... I respect Matt but being a thousand miles away and collecting a check like this, not letting anyone know is intentions is very annoying...

Well jerry's game plan came around. I will give props to the team. Jerry and company did it with out fes. So hopefully more of the same in the future. Sorry I just can't help it, #1 the shot's work all night, #2 ducan, ginobili didn't have great night's "good for us". I still feel they need to play fes more and at times use okur at the 4.Defense for the most part was great and fun to watch, had some elbows and bodies flying "good job".
Lame | 12:34 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
That was the most awkward analogy column I've ever read. Sure, have your opinion, but the attempt at being that clever turned awfully annoying.
