Congratulations that your son is well. It's a relief to hear that.
I was stationed there for 3 years. Can't believe it happened. What a tragedy...
While I'm happy about this Utahn being safe, surely he is not the only one. What about the others?
My boy is down there and took me nearly 12 hours before i could reach him. He's safe for now, leaving for Afghanistan in two weeks.
God bless our soliders and the families impacted. This is a national tragedy. Thank you for your families sacrifice Mike.
Well, he was yelling "Allah Akubar" right before shooting, so I'd say it's a safe bet that it was faith-motivated.
I supported your comment up until the point of saying Religion poisons everything. Religions teach principles, values and standards, it's the perversion by it's people which don't live those teachings which are poison.
Religion does not "poison everything" just as guns don't kill people. Misinterpreted religion, and in this case undo persecution from fellow soldiers contributed to the shooting.
Please, just pray for the victims and their families right now. There will be plenty of time to get political about this. I am very close to Ft.Hood and my family is in medicine at the hospital where the victims are located. It was a very long night. There is much pain here right now. Please just pray for the victims and their recovery. We are a nation that must stand together now.
Can anyone imagine the religious zealotry discussion we would be having in America today if this had been another Tim McVeigh scenario?
nobama and big brother and all their tracking of these fringe CHRISTIAN radical groups would be "justified".
Instead though we have had our first TERRORIST attack on American soil since 9/11.
Once again RADICAL ISLAMIC MUSLIM TERRORISTS are the culprits and yet nobody will discuss the SPAWN of this religion and all the TERRORIST MURDERERS KILLERS they train up.
This political correctness will be the death of this nation if we don't smarten up.
Bieler, what are your sources? I have not heard from even one semi-reliable news outlet that the gunman was yelling "Allah Akubar," as you claim. Before you start fostering more hate, please be sure that your facts are correct.
"Religion does not "poison everything" just as guns don't kill people."
True dat.
Individuals have their own free will to do/not do. Guns are a mindless tool just like a hammer or a shovel, that the user controls.
EVERY news channel is reporting it. The incident will bear out the fact it is religious based. Very sad....

"Religions teach principles, values and standards, it's the perversion by it's people which don't live those teachings which are poison."
Best case scenario is that Revealed religions break even on whether they are pro or con, positive or negative, good or bad, etc...
Fox is reporting this in its fair and balanced style as an terrorist of one? What about the man who listen to "Tiller the Killer" on Fox whose murder a man while he was in church, in front of the congregation? He's an Christian conservative, that's different?
Let me attack your moral example here.
Sorry, to those who lost someone or had a family member hurt in this event, I too feel pain over this terrible act.
This article is about people's family. I do not think this is the proper forum to advance your political cause. Sir, have you, no morals or compassion?
It's a sorry commentary when Americans must be reminded of manners and what is the proper forum to advance you divisive agenda and religious hatred.
Sir, you are offensive.
Yesterday, in this paper, I had to bring up that someone would use this tragedy to make nasty comments about our commander and chief. I knew you would be here. What next, from you; a comment about a photo op?
