This was an excellent win for a few reasons. I loved the defense and how Boozer showed up. I am a huge fan of Wes Mathews and his defense. I also thought that the arena would be a little empty but I'm glad we have some great fans in Utah!!! Good win now lets start a good win streak
Boozer is showing that he is a leader on this team. Since coming back he has said all the right things. I know Jazz fans hate him, but tonight proved that with Boozer playing well the Jazz can beat the best teams in the league. When Boozer struggles they are an average team.
The ESA needs to get behind Boozer. The pick and roll was run beautifully tonight, if we trade Boozer you won't see that anymore.
I am a firm believer that a town can unite, momentum carry from the success of another professional sports team. Many of us in great spirits because of courageous RSL> They showed "playing as a team can do"
I am elated to say, at least for one night, The Jazz played like this tonight. They have to do this away. That is another chapter in this saga.
Tonight, The SPurs guys in the 1st quarter were standing by the line. Amazing, they did not get a lot of chances, like Finley, Jefferson and Bonner.
Tonight, Boozer made an "effort defensively" We know he "is very capable if he tries"
He scored, made tough shots and looked like the Power Forward we all used to root for.
DWIL was great. Chris Paul? Sorry.
Millsap went back more to his normal productive ways.
Kirilenko was very active with the deflections, steals and not and Ronnie was making as usual highlite drives.
Kudos to Matthews for sparking the Jazz off the bench.
It is nice for once we can at least enjoy this couple of days and let the Town glory for these wins tonight.
We played 48 minutes.
Look what it does
to Boozer, DWill and Sloan. They will not always play this well but Boozer came thru big and deserved his minutes. His effort on D is also appreciated. DWill had a huge smart game.
Sloan appears to know what needs to be done. However, it is very confusing that it does not get done much of the time. Sloan seemed to coach a good game tonight. He stayed with the hot players, gambled on Mathews who came thru big and the Jazz played 48 mintutes of very good basketball against what is supposed to be the 2nd best team in the West.
The Jazz out rebounded SA, did not get bombed from the outside, did not get beat on the inside and shot a much higher percentage than SA.
The Jeckle and Hyde Jazz are back. I do not expect them to play this well all of the time but at least they did play this one very well.
Tempo may be the key. The pace was faster tonight and that helps the offense and then they get back better on D.
Sloan noted that. Why don't the Jazz run more? Run and Gun teams are a weakness.
No one wants an empty arena that has any intelligence. To play most nights to our capabilities like tonight, and the players bonded and working hard, will be the best assurance the seats remain filled.
Because the product is doing what it is supposed to.
Here is the question. Is Wesly Mathew better than 3rd year guard Brewer as rockie? Are we going to sign big money for Brewer when you can have Wesly for dirt cheap?? One more thought, could Wesly make Jazz roster if Kover and Miles weren't hurt? We are lucky to have Wesly drop on our lap. I think Kover is out after this yerar. Sorry Ladies. But his D is liability. AK is better. Believe or not, Boozer 's D is better. Millsap strugling a bit. Okur needs to step up on D side. Dwill's D was bad but he show 2nd half he can be good. He needs to be good at the bothend of the floor because he is our soul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good win. Let's keep doing it again and again...
If you have season tickets which you paid for, you are not going to stay home five games into the season.
Matthews played well. Let's remember how thin we are with Korver, CJ and Harpring out. Not much bench except for Fes and Koufus and Jerry won't let them play against SA. With lack of depth, we will lose every second game of a back-to-back set.
Memo seems to be slower than last year. Millsap is yet to show up. Price hasn't done much either even though there is plenty of playing time available due to the injuries.
There were mistakes on both sides, but this was an important victory over such a menacing team to this franchise.
Great job Boozer! Welcome back! He deserves praise for this effort, as does DWill. Defense is improving. We will win big if we continue to grow on this scale.
Thanks Jazz for the win. We will never give up on you guys!
Was that the Jazz ? Wow I could hardly recognize that team in white Jerseys. If that was the Jazz, why don't they play like that every night?
Oh! by the way, that bald head player with jersey number 5, was that Boozer? And who says he can't play defense ?
Wow, the Jazz finally got it all together and got it right. But for how long?
What a difference a win makes. It's still right after the game, so i'll give it time, but this is the most positive i've seen it around these message boards. Lose and we panic, win and we'll wait and see, but I have a feeling people will go overboard. Go Jazz, nice win!
Come on Jazz fan. The arena was not full today against spurs on TNT!!!! We need to support our team!!! By theway what was that explosion noise at 12:20???
Such a turnaround. What made the difference. Why do we falter so when the talent is there? Maybe we are maturing...I hope so. Guys, you earned your great pay tonight..do it every night and be the the team we want you to be. Go JAZZ.
Many of us are not smart enough not to rip the guys after every loss Jbra. If the Jazz play a hard close game, do the right things, and someone gets hot or the other team was just better not due to correctable coaching errors or player incompetence, I doubt anyone could criticize.
hopefully the light bulb finally went off in their heads and it continues, although i do love hearing the BOOS when they play like crap in ESA, nothing better than watching the game on tv and hearing how loud the fans will boo them. hopefully they continue winning and we all have something to cheer about the rest of the season.
The Jazz aren't out of the wilderness yet. I'm sure they'll have plenty of decent wins at home like this one all season but I won't be a believer in the Jazz again until they can pull off a victory this impressive against someone like the Spurs ON THE ROAD!! A team that is up by fifteen on the road and then loses by nine at the end is hardly a legitimate title contender.
Wow! What a turnaround! Just when I had written off the Jazz, they bump off the Spurs? Come on Jazz, don't tease me!
Now let's see if they can show up for average and mediocre opponents too.
I still want sloan gone. He did tonight what anyone sitting in the stands could have done. He put people out there and said play or else. He is no wizard, he will still pull his egomaniac stunts and coast us at least 10 to 12 wins a season, just enough to keep us out of the playoffs. And then he will blame the players.
I am curious to hear what the Spurs #1 Fan has to say. Yesterday, he or she seemed quite certain about the outcome of the game. Lets hear your opinion now. And don't get into the Spurs' championship history. We are only talking last night.
Boozer played great both ways offense and defense. DWILL finally played like a leader, and Wes Mathews is a good pick up so far.
It seems Mathews has a more complete game than Brewer and Korver, and maybe even Miles. I guess we will see how the season plays out if Mathews gets playing time and can stay consistent when other teams have scouted him.
What's happened to Fes and Koufous? Are they in the dog house?
