Mitchell is clearly competent because of the great detail of his thoughts. He relates details of the many scriptural references which shows he has a keen mind and intellect. He has an incredible memory and he's a master manipulator. He's a better actor than many of Hollywood's greats. He's a deep thinker and planner. He's always aware of his surrounding and circumstances and knows what he needs to do to manipulate people into thinking he's a capable and reliable human being. And now, he changes his colors deliberately to make him seem mentally unstable and ill. Why did he not act this way in previous years? It's because it did not suit him at that time. He is finally caught and I sincerely hope the judicial process sees through all this manipulation. He uses the system and I hope that same system toasts his buns.

Any assertion by the defense that this 200+ page synthesis, which has been described by multiple sources as the “most extensive report on Mitchell to date” is inadmissible because it “omits facts and findings contrary to Dr. Welner's conclusion” is a frivolous argument. It probably occurred to the defense that the evidence was detrimentally supportive of the state expert’s conclusion. Consider the role of a forensic expert - it is to provide and independent and objective opinion that adheres to the standards of the field. Now let’s consider the role of a defense attorney — to advocate and protect the interests of the said client. Arguments related to the compensation of the expert are meant to be distracting. How much are the defense attorneys making? Professionals are compensated for their work. The defense appears to be asserting that peer review is delegitimized by being non-blind or by providing compensation the parties involved for their time. Will the defense also attempt to discredit the age old practice of clinical peer review, where doctors in medical settings review the cases of their colleagues to ensure that the conclusions were reached in a diligent and scientific manner?
