What our country needs is a feel good movie! We need a movie where a down and out person triumph's over all! We need something to inspire us!

"Being near our family and are roots keeps us humble and keeps us grounded

Don't you mean, "....our roots..."?

sounds like you need something more than just a movie.

Most movies include conflict to make it interesting to viewers while as individuals we are happiest when we avoid conflict. I get turned off when the conflict in movies is clearly contrived.

Best wishes to Jared and Jerusha. I hope they can continue on their own unique (and successful) path and show Hollywood that good movies are even better without sleaze.

Btw- I loved Nacho Libre and can wait to see their new movie!

"Chanco, sometimes when you are a man, you will wear stretchy pants in your room, just for fun."

I can't think of two movies that have added more one-liners to our pop culture than Napolean and Nacho. The sheer brilliance of their movies is amazing and hilarious over and over and over. I laugh every single time one of my kids says something from one of their movies. My 11 year old daughter deadpans the list of favorites in Nacho...."I love poopies, beach volleyball, and my favorite color is light tan." NO WAY, those things are all my favorites too!

The article states: "'Gentlemen Broncos' is more slapstick and cruder than its predecessors."

Hey, Jared, here's a little "axiom" you ought to remember: "If there's anything lovely, praiseworthy, or of good report, we (should) seek after these things."
Excellent! | 9:14 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Congrats Hess. You're living the life!

I'm looking forward to GBs.

Will you now tell us number 12 from memory?
LOL Dave.... | 9:36 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Thanks for your comment. I can't help but laugh at the stretchy-pants comment.
awwww | 9:36 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Does Mayhem Mike need a little more attention in his life? poor guy...

Thanks, Jared and Jerusha, for creating two of the most amazing movies I have ever seen. We are impressed by your talent and wish you the best in your careers.
Give me some of your tots! | 11:06 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Great article - I'm 41 years old, and my friends and I still laugh our heads off watching their movies...

I'm a fan. And I'm glad my kids are fans too...

Very funny stuff.

Congrats - hope for continued success

Three movies where people were rolling in the theatre aisles with laughter: Animal House, Waiting for Guffman, and Napoleon Dynamite.

Thanks. Very funny stuff.

Great article! My husband and I are so excited to see this movie. The official website has a lot of hilarious feaures, such as the "RENAMER" where you type in your name and a new SciFi version is generated. Or several versions, if you don't like the first one. Check it out!

Adding to Typo 8:05 a.m. comment --

"When I made the movie I was convinced that only ME and my friends... would appreciate it."

ME ... would appreciate it???

Where have the young people of today conjured up this kind of language? This would be an intriguing question except that I hear such things more and more from the adult media and from Hollywood.

What ever shall we do? They don't learn language. They don't learn history.
They don't much at all in "gum'nt" schools. It won't be long before someone will come up with a weird notion to have the "gum'nt" take care of us in our decrepit condition.

Now there is an idea for a movie!!

I'll never forget watching Napoleon shake his bootie in his duct-taped moon boots for the first time on the big screen. I had sore abs for the rest of the night. Nacho just keeps getting funnier. Looking forward to GB and many more.
When | 3:59 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
is Napoleon II coming out?
glad I waited... | 5:35 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
to see Napoleon on a sunday afternoon on HBO.

It had to be the least funny most overhyped movie I've seen. Actually, it'd be a tie between ND & the Blair Witch Project.
Guy | 5:59 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Jared and Jerusha Hess movies are awesome!! ND and NL were pure genius! All of my friends and family love them. I'm excited for GB. These movies are super refreshing and hilarious. Keep em' coming Hess.
Napolean | 11:48 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
It should have been dynamyted before it was put to film. Never could sit through the whole film without falling asleep. Horrible film. Jared may be a nice guy but you who claim his movies are great have some very weird sense of what is quality. I will not say Hollywood produces good movies either.

I remembered meeting Jared at a film festival in Provo where Peluca was still new I think - I'm a film graduate with different genre ambitions then comedies, but I revere Jared and Jerusha to be (I'd otherwise say something that would probably be removed from the post) but I won't - I just revere them to be great people who know what's up in popular science fiction comedic culture. I wish I knew how to contact them. Best to them and the crew!
Jacen II | 5:53 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
Just saw there movie and I don't mean it to be funny, but I take back part of what I say. Too crass folks!
Anonymous | 6:19 p.m. Nov. 11, 2009
Why did they have to put in the crass parts? Makes what might have been good unwatchable.
Jacen III | 2:07 p.m. Nov. 12, 2009
Typo 'there' 'their' - regardless I just wanted to add here that I think like artists who have works that are stronger then others, Gentlemen Broncos had it's definite must laughs - some forced - I make zero attempt to critique Jared and Jerusha as people - - - Just kind o' tough to stomach parts of this film with my wife on my left side, and my little nephew on my right (who probably shouldn't have been in the theater with us) - I think Jared and Jerusha would do well to go back to a more traditional narrative style. Princess Bride gets away with being just as funny without being borderline crass.
