Dear Deseret News why did you not provide a description of the car and plates... we might be able to locate a car, rather giving us a racial profile of a random man who stole some money.

PS: dear lady, get direct deposit from SS

mary

OK , Who would leave a large amount of cash on TOP of a purse in the passenger seat ?
Regular people put it IN the purse , then behind the drivers seat .
If she is that mentally disabled , the checks need to be auto deposited to an account where she can use a debit card and get Small amounts of cash .

But still it is hard to believe anyone is that 'challenged' is this day and age .

Mary, you are so lucky to be asking this question. One day, I thought the same way as you are thinking now. Then, my mother got old. I got to witness how vulnerable older people become.

This poor old woman, may fear setting up direct deposit.

This is why, in civil culture the older are looked after. We all get old. Every dog will have its day with aging.

Wow! What a dumb lady. Seriously! Totally could have prevented that from happening. It's her fault. She deserves it.

Curious

What is the nature of this woman's disability? She did apparently get up and try to chase down the thief. Could be that she just robbed herself of a disability check from now on.

agree with annon.

my elderly mother had been grocery shopping and received cash back. she went home, got out of the car and a stranger came up to her asking for directions, she answered him and then turned her back to get out the groceries when he grabbed her purse and ran off! he had followed her home from the store. She went hobbling with her cane after him as he drove off. very scary!
