Well, this should be one heck of a game!!! And I for one DO NOT want to miss it!!! :) GO HUNTER!!! Good Luck Wolverines!!!
Hunterwolverine | 12:54 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
GO HUNTER!! You guys are the best! I will definitely be there. Gotta support my old high school. Hunter wins 28-24.
Hunter is weak  | 12:55 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
Trust me... I know the type of lazy kids on the team. Play hard and motivated with a lead, get them down a couple of TDs and the line will give up, kids will point fingers and it will be a blowout. Sorry this is the year of the KNIGHTS BABY!

The Wolverines continue to fly under the radar. Exactly where they want to be. I believe it will be a 14 point win, but not for the favored Knights. Hunter 28 LP 14
LP Fan | 1:54 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
This is going to be a battle between LP and Hunter. But LP has all the pieces--offense, defense, and kicking--peaking at the right time. Let's keep it rolling KNIGHTS!
I'm a HUNTER fan for 1 week | 2:05 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
It's this week right here! I would love nothing more than some west side pride, pounding the faces of those pretty boy utah county kids.

Hunter isn't like AF, PG, or Brighton. They pound the ball, they don't just run the ball! This battle will be won in the trenches, if Hunter controls the clock and wins the turnover battle they should come away with the W.
UtahSportsAction.com | 3:02 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
Both teams are tough. Hunter can win games with their running attack while Lone Peak can beat you through the air. It will be a very interesting game to watch.
K-Town Cougar | 3:03 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
My cougars didn't make it to the playoffs this year. However it's good to see Hunter representing the west side. Good luck to the wolverines and Coach Pearce. Lay the smackdown on Lone Peak!
Hunter Alum | 3:10 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
Hunter will win the battle in the trenches. The Wolverine secondary is the weakness of this team. In order for Hunter to win they have to control the clock, and the secondary has to make some plays. If LP's QB is good as advertised, this could be a long game for the Wolverine dbs. I hope Hunter wins, but I have a feeling LP is gonna win. LP 35-24. Prove me wrong please. GO WOLVERINES!!!
RE: Hunter is weak | 3:39 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
What do you mean by the "type" of kid? Hunter is not lazy bro.
A Bingham fan for Hunter | 3:59 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
I'm a Bingham fan and after reading that "NCAA" comment I hope Hunter wins big. Run right over them, Wolverines.
West Side Pride | 4:11 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
Is there anything real special about living on the West Side? I'm not sure why there is West Side pride other than feeling a commen thread for a poor education and a lower chance of succeeding in real life. Misery loves company is the best way to put it I guess.

I hope the best team wins and it has nothing to do with West or East side, money or no money.
re: west side pride | 5:29 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
The "poor" education I received on the west side at least taught me how to spell. That is a "COMMON" thread that you might consider sharing.

You sound ridiculous and childish. Yes, even though we have such a low chance of succeeding in real life, at least I have a grasp on what real life actually is.

When you grow up, you will see that there is a big world out there with all kinds of people that do not deserve to be stereotyped in ignorance.

I, like you, also hope that the best team wins, regardless of where they live.
Let's play ball | 5:53 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
A few months ago I was confronted with a driver that basically pushed me off the road. I got out of the car to see what was up and he got in my face yelling "West Side" pride and power and other junk. I was driving a friends nice car with an Alta Football sticker in it and I guess that sparked him. He said I cut him off but wow. Anyway the west side verus east side thing is out of hand and does not need to be part of a HS Football game. If that is how you motivate a kid then so be it but I think just plan old pride should work.
HunterAlumni2004 | 5:54 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
Yes it will be a good game Hunter is doing good as anyone else in the state and you Lone peak fans can say what you want but it all comes down on the field and Hunter can control the clock they did against Skyline and Cottonwood and they will do it against Lone Peak.
Defensively Hunter can stop them but not on deep throwing attacks but I remember Coach Pearce saying to his players "You got to believe in yourselves and you can do it"
Hunter Wins 27-24

Well said re:west side.
LP | 6:54 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
We cant be stopped are are peaking at the right time. A tem that only runs will never beat us.

We will march right into the Finals!!!!

GO Knights!!!!!
West Side Transfer | 9:22 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
I grew up on the West side and loved it!! I know live in Utah county and Love it!! I watch HS football and love it!! This will be a good game with two good teams that collectively are playing very well. I look forward to the game so we can stop all of this bush league smack talk that at the end of day doesn't mean a thing once these great kids take the field.

So where is the line that divides west from east? Is West Jordan, Bingham, or Riverton east side or west side? Is the line the Jordan River, main street, Redwood road. Taylorsville is on Redwood road but on the east side of it. What are they? I'm trying to figure out where I belong and who to root for. Seems to have nothing to do with Football, coaching, families. Please help me.
Anonymous | 10:26 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
If u don't know who u belong to.... U r not from the west side. West siders know it
West Side | 10:37 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
If you have to ask, then your not on the West Side. When your on the West Side you know it. Hunter 28 Lone peak 17.
Anonymous | 11:38 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
I work on the West Side. Can root for Hunter?
re: Anonymous 9:49 p.m. | 12:24 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Great question you asked about the imaginary line that divides west from east. It can't be defined because it doesn't exist. Why do we have to have limits, sides and boundaries? Not me. I choose not to. Belong to who you want and root for who you want, anonymous. The answer is this...it really is about football, families and friends. The only lines that are real are the yard lines on the field. And, after the game is over, those lines will be crossed when ALL players and coaches shake hands. We can learn a lot from football.
It's funny how... | 12:24 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
people judge a community from about 5% of the worse that live there. obviously lone peak is in a wealthier area than hunter. everyone who is familiar with the areas knows this. but being well off and having money doesn't make someone a snob. Highland and Alpine have some very classy, very hard working people. people who all of us everyone from alpine to west valley and everywhere else should look up to and try to become like them. I went to Lone Peak and the comment by NCAA guy was uncalled for the type of football fan if you can even call him that I don't want to associate with. but going the other way being poor doesn't make you humble or hard working. being humble and being able to work hard is a choice you also have a choice to be lazy. I have some really good friends who grew up in west valley and they are some of coolest people I know. But for the football game This is going to be a great game against two great teams may the best win as a prediction I think LP wins 27-17.
East/West | 12:40 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
I lived on a town in Alabama where the west side was the "good" side and the east side was the "bad" side. The line was the train tracks. One High School on the West and one the East. Huge rivalry every year. Heard the same talk....win one for the East Siders. East Side Pride. West Siders are soft and spoiled. It was dumb there and dumb here.

If u looked at all the inital posts they were all positive coming from hunter fans. There is nothing bad about saying," good luck boys represent the west side and let's win". Lp fans and others attacked our kids and our community. We didn't even mention lp in our posts. Hunter fan for 1 week isn't a hunter fan. Or k-town cougar isn't a hunter fan. Some how people read these post and deduct that it's ok to downgrade children and economic situations and that is ok but heaven forbid someone be proud of where they come from. Let's remember what's important here. We shouldn't give people a pass when the verbally abuse our kids. But when someone says west side pride it is a crime.
West Side Pride? | 11:04 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Now that the football team is doing good you now have "west side pride"?
HunterChamp2003 | 11:14 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009
"Hunter is weak" did you not see the Skyline game this year? No finger pointing, no giving up, and no blow out. As for the "lazy" kids, you have no idea what you are talking about, they worked just as hard as any other team in the state to get where they are today. You can't be lazy and play the way they have the past month and a half. This should be a good game and I hope Hunter can come away with the victory.

Been in Utah for 50 years. It was West - Magna mine workers vs East, Olympus and Skyline, Olympus cove area. Today the valley has grown and there is parity. Except for a few big homes on the East bench - and for your info E-siders you may think you belong to that club - but you don't.

There are rich and not so rich everywhere. There are bigots, racists, separatists on East and West. There are bad and good blacks, whites, poly's etc, there are good and bad everything. When you try to categorize some one by where they live it just shows how shallow you are. I know some of the best people on the planet and they live East and West. So get over it finally and stop using it to divide communities.

Football is great because you judge the players on their performance... how life should be too.

The reason why people r excited about hunter is because they r representing the entire city of west valley. Although when we play the other teams in wv we want to beat them but we always pull for each other any other time. Granger hunter kearns and Cyprus are all hunter fans this week. We pull for each other because we grew up together we r cousins and most of all friends. So get over it we r proud of our west side and if u don't like it stay out
re:anonymous 11:57 a.m. | 3:31 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
You speak the truth. We've just got to give up trying to categorize everyone. Let this be about football, and not defending who we THINK we are or who we THINK someone else is. Go to the game, support your team, be gracious in winning or losing, and realize that the football player on the other team is just like the one you're rooting for, just wearing a different color uniform.

Take out the Darts next week, just one more game to defy the odds, yet again. I'm calling it right now, Hunter 17 - Davis 10.
Anonymous | 12:02 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Hunter high has really pulled it off, no other football team can pull of what they have done.
Anonymous | 2:19 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
It dosent get any easier hunter. Davis is a good team and they just like u r hungry to get another state title. Hunter won 5a state title in 04 and the next year Davis took the 5a title. Two very good programs going to be a great game. All 4 region champs make it to the semis. Looks like 5a is more balanced than people thought.
Hunter fan | 11:21 a.m. Nov. 7, 2009
Wrong Hunter won the state title in 03 then Davis won it in 04. Get it right Anonymous

Y IS THERE A PICTURE OF LP'S RECIEVER ON HERE WHEN THEY LOST.....LOL
lp fan! | 11:37 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
beacuse lone peak has the better team. thats why there is a picture there. and we all knew it too. Running is just handing if off to someone else. passing takes alot of practice. four over times... thats saying alot on lone peaks side after looking back the last couple of years. We really worked hard this year and i thought lone peak would have the win. Sadly it didnt turn out that way... and the refs had a couple of bad calls. so i thought lone peak was the better team.
