I need some clarification here. So new homebuyers get a credit, and there's some provision for homeowners who have been in for five years or more. So, there's some kind of credit for everyone except those in their homes now for 1-5 years?

On a side note, more and more I just feel like Democrats are trying to buy our votes with our own money.

This is insanity and an insane way to get consumers to spend again. Our economy, for what its worth now, has and is dependent on consumer spending. This new plan is just another ploy like the cash for clunkers program that had a temporary stimulus for the auto industry and banks.

What is wrong with government when they fail to understand we need jobs and well paying jobs to get the economy going again. Bail outs and un-payable consumer debt are temporary at best and worsen our national debt.

Stop imports, and raise import taxes on products and companies who have endeavored to destroy the working mans incomes. Our economy is and will always be only as good as the working american is paid. If corporate america can't pay its workers then who will buy products?

Corporate america wanted slave labor wages and they got it and the bad economy is bearing this out. As always, with slave labor, the owners (corporate america) were the only ones profiting. The slaves (consumers) couldn't buy the products the plantations produced and were dependent on the land owners and government, and were welfare dependents as we are now.

It would be helpful if news writers would state that the money is coming from the taxpayer rather than the government.

@Going insane: so you want to start another round of protectionism? You mean like the Smoot-Hawley bill that had much to do with triggering the Great Depression? You have no idea how much mischief your suggestion would cause if implemented. You're targeting a strawman. The real culprit works for the Federal Reserve System. They've destroyed the value of your dollars by printing them as fast as the printing presses will allow. Nothing will solve the problems you're complaining about faster than a stable currency.
Unbridled Spending | 2:30 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
The Democrats who control the entire Federal Government right now -both chambers of the Congress, as well as Executive Branch, are on a drunken spending-spree. WE're already in so much debt thanks to their Stimulus pork-laden pacakge, cash for clunkers, ACORN handouts, etc., that it's beyond a joke. The Dems are doling out money to every special interest group and "paying off" all of their demograpic groups as possibile. The store is open and they're carting off the big-screens, if you know what I mean. The market will correct itself. The government s only postponing pain to a future time when the "interest" will compound and make it much worse. ALl of this profligate spending MUST stop! It's completely out of control, and we have record unemployment to show for it all!
