I disagree with extending unemployment benefits. If the government keeps giving people money, the unemployed people have no incentive to find a job, thus extending the time these individuals are unemployed.
I know we all need help sometimes but the government is giving these unemployed individual too much money.
I will predict that the unemployment rate will not decrease any time soon.

The previous administration doled out incentive after incentive to move jobs overseas.

The Right-wing that supported them now want things turned around overnight.

LOL!

Lee, isn't it ironic that during the conservative rein of terror on our economy, Fox News and talk radio was blaming, of course, the liberal press for reporting facts. Their argument was bad news create panic.

I knew,as I believe most educated American know 8% was low. I expected closer to 17%. I do believe it would have been worst without stimulus.

Does fair and balanced Fox News report that China, Germany, France and Japan are out of recession because of government stimulus spending?

I will let you on to the next great whine. The recover is going to be called a jobless recovery because business used this recession to trim their workforce. They won't be hiring as many. You have Obama, you can blame for the marvelous free market.

Back to the subject. Remember republican governors who where willing to let their unemployed starve? You thionk this is better than, democrats?
