OK, this was a nice story, gave the Rebels some credit and it was a good tribute to the other three teams. This will be a fun two weeks of 1A football that we can all be proud of, ALL four teams. If Kanab gets on here again Rebels, Please just let them go off and leave them alone. They are done, Rebels are still in, that must be the general problem. Good Luck and great effort to four respectable football programs in the Duchesne Eagles, Monticello Buckaroos, Altamont Longhorns, and our Rebels. Love the Playoffs!
don't worry rich you will kill everyone and take state.
ya know its ppl like you that actually makes others respect Rich!!! then the anonymous person comes on!!! Good luck to all teams hope for the best
I believe this is 1A?
We care. It is really interesting just because we are 1A, You think we are not important. I have news for you our kids and teams are just as important as any other school. These kids do alot they are student body officers, ffa officers, in basketball in wrestling, they have great grades on an average. You have no idea how much they do because they are 1A. I get tired of everyone thinking just because we are 1a we are some kind of lower class. The fact is it is great. We know everyone, and their families and we are there to help if they need it. Being from 1A has alot of benefits and we are just as good in our hearts and any thing else as any one else we just have alot less students to pick from to make a team and we do just fine I wouldn't trade my life in a 1a school for all your big city life for nothing because most of us wouldn't be so arrogant as to say that. Good Luck all of you 1A team we think you are all great. Go 1A
Great statement. Thanks for all that but also want to point out that we are all assuming that the Who Cares comment was just another Kanab fan that seems to follow every article about Rich intently.
Rich is the overwhelming favorite this year. They will run away with it this year. The rest of 1A needs to build on there successes this year. Here is my bet for next year. Things will tighten up next year. Duchesne and Monticello will close the gap on Rich. Altamont and Milford will be also be competative. Layton Christian, Whitehorse and Monument Valley will still bring up the rear. 1A football will be better off, more competative and stronger in the coming years. It would be fantastic if a few more 1A teams would start playing football. Panguitch & Wayne should be the 1st two to join 1A. They have the enrollment to do it.
Go Rich!! You boys deserve it so go play your best and go win!
good luck Rebels and to all other 1A teams its been a great year. Good luck to all seniors from every school when it's over. Win or lose leave it on the field.
yaaaaaawwwwwwwnnnnnn....i think rich has a good team this year. i just hate to see it wasted on a trophy you got without even being challenged. i mean, the team you're playing in the semis you had 46-0 at halftime for heck sake. please move up to 2a next year so your program can get some respect. being the best of five teams ( mv,wh, and lca you cant count ) will never get any respect from the rest of the state. you got a good program, i just hate to see it go to waste when you could play and compete in 2a.
kind of boring on thes football blogs, can't wait till basketball so we can hear how great region 20 will be
ktownking we all know that Rich would have destroyed most teams in 2A this year and Duchesne would have been one of the top competitors in 2A as well. When you really get down to the matter 1A and 2A have no separation in level of competition. You could have match-ups between any two teams of 1A or 2A any season and you wouldn't see the difference in classification. Unfortunately for Kanab they were one of those teams this year that still wouldn't have competed well even if they were "dropped down" into 1A.
Not sure why all this talk between Rich and Kanab. We don't pllay in same league and won't be playing each other anytime soon. Rich is a great program and we had some great games. I don't think we need to do any more talking on either side. We wish you the best and I agree you have a great team that would provide another great battle had we have played. The Holmes kid is awesome and you have a great surrounding crew. So don't worry about us any more just go take care of business. I expected nothing less than a perfect season out of you all. Good Luck!
Foolish! Yes Rich would fare well in 2A this year. No one else from 1A would without question. Monticello and Duchesne are the other top teams in 1A. Duchesne got smoked by South Summit and Monticello got smoked by San Juan. The question that must be asked about Rich is whether they would be consistent or not at the 2A level. I know from 1997 to 2000 when they were in 2A they fared ok. I am pretty sure they had a winning record all those years. The problem is they only had 1 playoff win. I think they could have a team every four years or so that could compete for a 2A title. I dont think they could be that way every year though. We will never know how they would have done this year in 2A.
having seen the Rich Monticello game and both SJ/kanab games i must say I repsect Rich very uch but I don't think they could beat Kanab this year. Sure the game would be competitive but Kanab three kids out there that stand out against any 1A/2A team. Rich needs to just be quiet and enjoy they're watered down meaningless gold trophy.
Wow! Again I have always thought a lot of Rich and it's fans. Year after year we found them to be a class act all the way around. For some reason this year you have one or two fans that have no class and need to get a life and stopping posting negative comments. I would love to have seen a Kanab Rich game but it wasn't to be. So we will move onto other sports and mybe even another State Baseball Championship and wish the Rich guys luck as they go onto the State Title they very much deserve.
To: "Cowboy Fan" Amen to every thing you said! If you are a true fan of high school sports, you would rather see a good, competative game rather than a blow out any day. School classifications nor state lines really has any bearing on that. Every school that has any sporting program has seen the bad years. So let the kids enjoy the good years while they are theirs to enjoy, they have worked hard for it. For those out there talking all the "smack" (no matter the school), just remember that your day will also come to eat "humble pie". Keep that in mind before you go running off at the mouth. Good luck to all teams that have made it this far. Represent yourselves, school & communities well.
Isn't a perfect game and a mistake free game the same? I dont think altamont has a chance. But congrats on making it to the play offs for the first time in about 10 years. And all of the talk between rich and kanab is funny! havent you noticed its mostly people from rich or kanab that comments on the 1a articles! its not that important people
Go Longhorns show Rich UP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where was kanab in 2006 when they played Duchesne for the State championship? they lost 30-0 to a "watered down 1a School"
