4A high school football preview: Woods Cross at Springville

Looking at the teams and that they've never met have similar scoring differentials and seem very well coached I see this game coming down to special teams and turnovers. I wouldn't be surprised if the team that has an edge in those two categories wins in a close game. Naturally, I'm hoping that we'll a Red Devil victory.

The score is going be 35 to 10 for Spingville. Springvilles D is on a role we are only allowing around 12 points a game and our offense is really starting to click along with our special teams. Raul Delgado will return a kick off and Taylor Baker will also have a huge play on D for 6. Our two D ends will have an awesome game. The O line and QB better watch out for numbers 85 and 15 along with our D tackles 94 and 79. Also Alema Key, Marcus Case, Todd Gillies, and Jordan Sumpsion on the offensive side of the ball. I'm sorry WX but we're no Provo. This will be your last game of the 2009 season. Springville is goin got the semis. You are going to a silent ride home come Friday afternoon. STATE CHAMPS!!!!! ITS DESTINY!!!!!

What an arrogant comment. No one believed in WX even being in the game with Bountiful and we were one stupid play call away from sending it into overtime. Look for WX to upset Springville!

Yeah Sky view said the same thing about rushing too. Would you guys like to know how many total rushing yards they had? 12 thats right 12 total rushing yards! We have the best run stop defense in the state. I am going to love to see you try and run the ball.

I cant wait to see it. CJ had over 100 yards against bountiful. i guarantee Bountifuls defence was better. And who says we will just run? Who you gonna put up agains our 6' 5" 230 pound tight end? Nobody.

Got a question for you all...

IF The State Championship Game came down to say Springville Vs. Timpview, Springville Vs. Spanish Fork, Timpview vs. Spanish Fork...Do you think since it would be two Utah County Teams, do you think that They should have this game at Lavell Edwards Stadium in Provo? I think they should! Instead of having everyone and their dog travel clear up to Salt Lake City for two Utah County teams. But it will never happen, because contracts. Oh well, maybe they might consider it?

Anywho...GO RED DEVILS! Good Luck to Woods Cross As Well. Should be a GREAT GAME!

This will be a tough game for both teams. Springville and Woods Cross are balanced teams, great offenses and pretty good defenses. Springville has the size and speed advantage Woods Cross has the coaching, and heart advantage. I've watched those Springville boys make some impressive plays but nothing has been more impressive than the heart that Woods Cross team has shown. If Springville can weather the first quarter they might win it. But Fernandes doesn't let a lot of teams hang around after the 1st quarter. I'm highly anticipating this Matchup. Prep football at it's finest

Great coach at taking apart tendencies by the opposing defensive coach. Sprangvilles D-Coach better get ready to be whipped. This is not Pro Ball in high school the better coach and take apart what should be a more talented team.

Woods Cross' business as usual attitude won't be enough to get them the win as it did last week over a Provo team without any playoff experience. You are very disillusional young man. Springville has 0 playoff experience if you count 1 game in 3 years as experience. This game will be a defensive battle my friend. Both teams only average giving up 12.5 for SV and 16 for WX.

whats all of this about WX having the better coaching? does 2-9 mean nothing to you, yes that was springvilles record 2 years ago, now we are 9-1. I dont know about you, but thats great coaching. Dont get me wrong WX has had a fine turn around, but Springville has a Coaching Dream team, Our head coach played in the NFL, our O coordinator Was with Ricks college back when they were still around, Our D Coordinator has been with Springville for years and years, including a 10-1 season in 2004, Along with the O Line who was coaching with us in 1985 (o line coaches are always the old guys) and Our D line Coach PLayed for the Raiders, along with special teams and LB's who played for the Huskers back in the day... Seems like you are out coached...

not everyone i listed was from playing (lack of clarification on my part) our O coordinater was the Offencive coordinator for ricks college, and Big Al was the Line coach in 1985, and old Gueck has been coaching with us for some time

This will be a great game. two teams that have had good coaching on both sides of the ball. we'll see today who comes ready to play but dont think that woodscross will be a cake walk, their a tough team and all the talking belongs on the field. battle for the simi finals.

Just because teams get crushed by TV or MC does not mean they suck. Those two teams are just dominating the 4A level this year. Alot of good teams have lost to them and will continue to.

Woods Cross is by far the most classy team we've played this year. Their players were great sports before, during, and after the game. The fans were also awesome. They cheered and clapped for us on the way to the locker room and did not say a bad thing. Thanks WX for the class. Come support us Devils on Thursday at RES. I'd love to see you there.
