If the Jazz don't learn how play in the 4th quarter on the road,
they'll never be a world class team. They continue to fall apart in 4Q.
Maybe they need to do some endurance training, physically AND mentally!

One of the worst displays of playing not to lose I have ever seen. This team is
soft, has no heart and that is a direct representation of the coach. The Jazz
have one of the highest payrolls in the league and put out a product like this,
the Miller's should be proud. The offense was brilliant in the fourth
quarter, Williams dribbles up court while everyone spreads the floor, standing,
standing, standing, then Williams forces up a long shot. Why didn't they
just stand on the sideline and let Dirk run up and down the court, oh I guess
that they did. I probably will watch a game or two here and there, but my
support for the Jazz is done. I have been a staunch supporter of Sloan, but I
really believe that he needs to retire, Boozer has to go. That was seriously
the worst one quarter display of Basketball I have ever seen by any team. We
better hope that the Knicks do lose for their pick, because we don't get a
lotto pick of our own even though I believe that is were we will be, the West is
too good.

How long has the team had the same coach? Is it just the players lack of
ability/heart, or is the coaching getting tired? Just asking, not meant as an
accusation.

Coach lost this one. No time outs to settle team down. Should have had the
"big" guys both fowl out stopping Dirk. There is no excuse for
"zero" coaching in this game.

Yawn. If the Jazz continue to operate the same way and make no moves to improve
their team, why should we be surprised that they continue to achieve the same
shoddy results?!
Sloan needs to accept the fact that he is the one responsible for leading and motivating the team. He is the one calling the shots, making the substitutions, determining playing time, calling the plays, approving roster moves, etc. He appears to be unwilling to accept responsibility for most of that, and until something changes at the top, we're doomed to this kind of performance over and over and over this season.
This team needs a big-time shake-up in the worst way!

Do not assume the Knicks are going to be that bad. I have a feeling they may be

I watched Sloan sitting on the sidelines while HIS team panicked and blew a 16
point lead. No time outs to settle the team down, break up Dallas'
momentum, regroup, etc. I saw Fez and Maynor working underneath the basket then
sit down while everyone stood out by the perimeter waitng for ? Long shots
missed and not a Jazz jersey underneath for a rebound. No double up on Nowitski,
because everyone else is too dangerous? That's where the help defense
should have worked. Lottery here we come. Boozers last 4 points were gifts from
Dallas because they played basketball, and didn't need to worry. No hard
fouls were given to distract Dallas, I'm going to miss Harpring. I already
miss the Jazz.

I'm sure Jerry Sloan trades the left over time outs that he doesn't
use at the end of the season for S&H Green Strike Stamps (either way both
the unused TOs and the stamps are worthless).

What a bunch of whiners!! Your comments lead me to believe you have never
played any sports, maybe church ball. I have never seen or heard a derogatory
commnent from a person that has played on a high level of competition. It is
always from a person that has no clue on what it takes to play or coach
especially at this level. They are only 4 games into the season and your crying
for a coach or player change? You are pathetic.

I love that people are always so quick to blame the coach. Sorry, folks, but
he's not the one out there PLAYING THE GAME. I don't understand why
the coaches are always such scapegoats. Dirk scoring 29 is NOT Sloan's
fault. The man is a hall of fame coach, and here you are coaching from the
couch?! The Jazz lost this one for themselves. That's it.

Granted not all that happened last night was Sloans fault but you cannot deny that calling a timeout to take the crowd out of a game, and to possibly cool the hot hand or team on a run, and to get players regrouped and focused is common among all NBA, College, and High School coaches except one Jerry Sloan. It can easily cost you a game especially on the road(oh yeah it did and has before). It is also up to Sloan to see that Memo was not stopping Dirk and to make a change. Put AK on Dirk and identify a poor shooter and have that guy double team. That part of coach is not rocket science.
Maybe we are a bunch of arm chair quarterbacks but the definition of stupidity is:
DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER WITH THE SAME RESULTS.
That is the problem the Jazz face with Sloan and O'Connor.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. We
have has the same roster for 3 years now. Why do we think it will get us any
farther than another 1st round exit in the playoffs????

the Jazz has no one to match-up with Dirk, double him up is the best option,
they wouldn't do a zone defense, Dirk will just shoot those uncostested
3's.. the Jazz did'nt expect Dirk will explode that much in the 4th
quarter, they were stunned and did'nt have the chance to adjust their
defense on Dirk..still we played well I think.. the Jazz will bounce back,its
just wrong timing I think
