Congrats to Mills and everyone who won in Herriman! Nice to see that people in
Herriman awoke to the ethical issues of the current mayor. Wonder what he and
his related workers in city hall will do now? I suppose the current mayor will
ask to keep his city manager job. NOT. Looking forward to the changes.

To clear something up, yes, the ugly campaign against Mick Shannon backfired
because people found out the truth of the DUI, which is NOT what it appeared.
Mick had it on his website for all to read about so they could see the truth
before the dirty politics even started! He was by far the best candidate for
the job, a true, brilliant businessman who has been attending city council
meetings for quite sometime to plan what he can do to better Herriman! I knew
who I didn't want to vote for, someone who would start a dirty campaign
with a "half truth"! We don't need that in Herriman!! It was
time for some new blood! Congratulations our new city council reps and mayor!

Josh is well qualified for his new role as Mayor of Herriman. His active role
in the Republican party and his high standards speak well of him. His wife and
daughters will also bring much joy to this city. The more people get to know
him, the more impressive the man becomes. Listen to him, he is great.

We as residents of Herriman are very excited to have Josh Mills as our new
Mayor. He is a Man of honesty and integrity and best of all, he is just a nice
guy that will do a great job.

Herriman lost great people in the election which is going to be tough on
Herriman. People do not know the work that Mayor Crane did creating
relationships to bring growth funding to Herriman with the abilty to have a rec
center, a beautiful cemetary, and great parks. Will the new Mayor have those
relations to bring in the funding, NOT!!! I believe the residents of Herriman
will be sorely disappointed in the direction the city will take.

Herriman politics has looked a little ugly lately. Hopefully the new officials
put some of the bad vibes behind them and work as diligently as our officials
have in the past.
We have a city with no debt with a number of great projects that have been started (by those cast aside yesterday). We elected some unproven people but from what I've seen they are good people who will be up to the challenge. Good luck to you newcomers.

Mr. Crane WILL keep his position as City Manager if the new mayor know what he
is doing.

I would like to see Crane continue as City Manager too...at least for the next
year or two. The transfer of information is so vital! It's also important
to transfer the contacts that Crane would have made over the 10 years as mayor.
I would hate to see some of the good things that Herriman had under works be
dropped in the process.

Really? You really think we need two of those? Brett Wood is doing a fine job
managing the city. It was completely wasteful to have two city managers.
The future looks very bright for Herriman after last night's election. Mills is a new mayor, true. But know what? So was Crane when he started. But Mills is intelligent, educated, has good ideas, and loves this city. Give him a chance.
And Herriman is VERY lucky to have Mick Shannon on the council. If you know anything about the man, aside from the lies and embellishments in the misguided attempt to smear his good name, you know that there are very few men like him in the world. His accomplishments are many, and far-reaching. He is a proven leader, a strong negotiator, and is able to cut through the rhetoric and get down to business. My only regret is that he didn't run for mayor himself.
So, chin up, my dear "Cranians". Herriman will not only remain the best city in Utah, but will only get better under the new leadership.

I've lived in Herriman for 20 years, and I think Mayor Crane has done a
great job of managing Herriman's growth, but no politician should stay in
power for too long. Other people also have good ideas and vision, and it's
important to not let one person or group control the long-term direction of a
city. However, I agree that Mayor Crane should remain as city manager. He's
the one who has managed the city so well right from the start--that's why
we have the amenities everyone wants but without exorbitant taxes/fees, and why
it's generally a nice place to live. What our little town of 20,000 (plus
or minus) doesn't need is both a city manager AND and an assistant city
manager. Do we really need that much management, especially now that growth has
slowed down? Mayor Crane is the best qualified to manage the city--let him stay
on as city manager.

A few months ago I had the opportunity to sit down with mayor crane. I was
surprised that he did not know much of what was going on in the city. Currently
townhouses are being charged double what they should be for water. He of course
reminded us to remember to vote in november. He was basically campaigning for
himself on city time. so sad. It should be a great new start for herriman
city.

I am glad that the Crane is over. Herriman needed a change and after living
here for almost 10 years I hope the new power is what we need. The city council
needed a change and the mayor needed to go. Good luck to all of those who won
for Herriman.

I am glad to see the change, too. I've lived in Herriman for 1/2 of
it's corporated existence. Yes, the city is known for its employees who
are related to everyone else. Only a few "outsiders" who are not
family members. I have made several phone calls to the city regarding safety
issues in streets and parks and finally one 1 call back after the several (5-6)
calls made. Yes, the city is really responsive to citizens' concern. Of
course you can hear the sarcasism in my voice right? This is one of the reasons
I've voted for a change of personnel in the city council and mayor's
office. Someday, I hope that Herriman will get to the level of activities as
Riverton offers now, especially in recreational classes and activities like
that.

Its about time. Crane did a good job but its time to move forward. Too much city
money is being wasted on rec employees. The city needs to cut back on the full
time positions that are not needed and how many managers do we need???

I am very disappointed when I hear people complaining about how Mayor Crane was
a bad mayor, or that he was out of touch. Since Mayor Crane is not a career
politician he doesn't go around telling everybody what he has done.
However, I know first hand some of the wonderful things that he has done to
better our small town. It was through the Mayor's good nature and
likability that we are getting one of the best Rec Centers in the state and that
Riverton isn't. He has served Herriman loyally for many years, and I
refuse to see him leave office under a cloud of such disparaging remarks.
Thank you Mayor for your hard work and selfless dedication to the city.
I can only hope that Josh Mills will work half as hard for Herriman while he busies himself with politics and running for whichever office is next in his climb.
