Well done, Mike! We are so excited to have you as our mayor. You'll be terrific!!

Bethany Summers

Congrats, Mike! We were all cheering you on from our place. You'll be a great mayor for our city!

i think his name largely won him this position.

More apartments YEAH

More graffiti and poor law enforcement. YEAH the same ole same ole.

Clean out illegals?

The biggest challenge for West Valley is to clean out the illegals finding refuge and a safe haven from the law. Get rid of them and crime will drop in double digit numbers. And it will ease the pressure on local schools to hide their anchors (children) in.

You don't really know Mr. Winder do you? He worked hard as a councilman. He earned his chance to be mayor. I frankly liked his opponent also until I saw one of his flyer where he slammed Mr. Winder's name. A nice flyer, family photo good ideas but then the ugly name slam. Are you his cousin?

re: Anon..

I am looking at the flyer.
It says a lot of good reasons to vote for Kevin Fayles
The only thing about a "name" was:

vote for
Experience. Innovation
The Person - Not Just the Name
vote for
Kevin Fayles for Mayor

I congratulate both for doing a great job and for
Mike Winder for winning. There was no "slam".

Aimee

Anyone who knows Winder well, knows he has character, integrity and a great work ethic. He will do a great job as Mayor. Name recognition only gets you so far, Anonymous. Of course he has name recognition, but you don't get 77% of the vote by name recognition only. West Valley residents know Winder's track record on the council and he took the time to get to know people. He will be a fabulous mayor!!

both candidates impressive

I commend both Mike Winder and Kevin Fayles for running classy campaigns that did not sling mud. They are both good men commited to a better West Valley, and it makes me proud of our city to NOT have politics as usual. Congrats to both of them!

I attended a couple of meet the candidate nights, and was put off by Mr. Fayles repeating that Winder was using this as a stepping stone in a political career. Frankly, I don't mind being a stepping stone in someones's career if he or she gets the job done. Winder had a clear vision of what he would like to see happen in West Valley City and that is what people voted for. I, personally would love to, eventually, have a County Councilman, or a governor that got his start in beautiful West Valley!

He will be one term and go to the next office.

Regardless of how many terms Mike Winder serves as mayor, all can be assured that he will serve with integrity, honor, commonsense, and dedication. If he moves on to run for governor, senator or even president, he will give his all, and we will benefit from his service. I have known him since junior high school; his actions speak very well of him. West Valley City is in the best of hands.

Do you think Mike will run for President one day?

I believe Mike will put his heart and soul into this position the way he does in the other apsects of his life. He is a great father and worker. I believe he will work hard and be a great mayor. Whether it is a stepping stone, or not, he will do his absolute best while he is there.

Way to go Mike Winder! You'll make a good mayor. You do have your work cut out for you, but you'll do a great job!

Me

Mike Winder is not 36. He's 33.
