I have seen both Juan Diego and Cedar play this year and Juan Diego is pretty much better at every position. They are the far better team and will beat Cedar by at least 30 points.
Go Miners | 9:19 a.m. Nov. 4, 2009
Well I hope so, they should beat every school in the 3A by 30. I think if Park City could recruit and hand out free tuition to all of the states top athletes then Park City would be beating every one by 30 as well, o wait they are!!! When is somone going to lead the charge and do something about the cheating that is going on at Juan Diego??? Hello UHSAA??? anyone home????
It s a fact | 9:29 a.m. Nov. 4, 2009
Juan Diego is better than any team in Utah and hasn't had a challenge in over 2 years(except the Idaho trip). The team stats show it and the scores have proven it. Juan Diego by 47. Get your tickets to RES now for both weeks.

I have seen both teams play and this is not a lock for Juan Diego if you give me 30 i will put up a grand.
Me, Myself and I | 10:11 a.m. Nov. 4, 2009
In a game that will be decided by who takes care of the ball the best I'm going with Cedar in an upset. Juan Diego will look past a quality team. Cedar 22 Juan Diego 21.
south fan | 10:13 a.m. Nov. 4, 2009
would you say a 3 piont win over hurricane last year wasnt a challenge?
The Best | 10:24 a.m. Nov. 4, 2009
I agree. Juan Diego is the best team in the state hands down. Cedar dosen't stand a chance. Go Soaring Eagles.
Accurate | 10:44 a.m. Nov. 4, 2009
Best team in 3A; not the state. It is very important that we are clear here. "Go Miners" has a very good point.
Football Fan | 11:14 a.m. Nov. 4, 2009
Cedar wont get one first down. They are very predictable on offense and Juan Diego has an outstanding defense. This game wont even be close.
Re: Its a fact | 11:34 a.m. Nov. 4, 2009
Hasn't been challenged in 2 years. I believe if my facts are right that they only beat Hurricane by 3 points last year in the finals and with only a few seconds left in the game. If that is not challenged I don't know what is.
WOW | 12:04 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
ok, for all of those who think they give out scholarships, NO! they do tuition assistance off families income! every student does it and every student gets it! with the money that was donated to the school to build it gave, three things they had to do to build the school! one was no student that want a better education would be turned away because of money! another fact we have a lot of athletes come here thinking they get scholarships and they do not, plus most that come leave because they can not handle 3 to 4 hours of homework they get a night! every teacher hold a standard higher then any other school. if you want to test this theory, come and send your kid here and watch him or her run!
to:Go Miners | 12:13 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
I am also a Miner fan. It is not cheating. It is a private school and they have the ability to attract athletes from other area's. They should however do like they do in other states and either have private schools play in their own league or have them moved up one classification. And to Me, Myself and I. Lay off the b loads, Cedar will not beat JD.
you must be joking | 3:47 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
Highland of Idaho 28 - Juan Diego 3
Timpview 34 - Highland of Idaho 28
(highland scored a meaningless td with 1 second left)

Best team in Utah huh?

Get serious and understand football before you make a comment like that.
Jwine Diego | 4:35 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
Recruit-YES
Tution-$9000/year "give me some of that please"
Scholarships-probably not but should with the tution fee?
State Title- 99.9% chance of that.
Other State Titles to come: Baseball again, Basketball, Soccer, and possibly Wrestling?

I predice JD will be the king of 3A by 2011 and nobody will be able to compete with them so every out there sign your kid up for next year as soon as you can so they can go to 5A like they want.
The Official | 4:37 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
To "you must be joking"

You have got to be a product of Utah public education to actually think that someone meant best football team in Utah... don’t read too much into a statement that someone said...You’re a real American Genius

cheating? | 4:53 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
you cannot recruit a student to ANY school in UT for anything but academics. this includes "tuition assistance". If a parent feels their child will get a better education at a different school then they can send their kid there. And only in open enrollment schools. Private or public really doesnt matter. but nothing else, especially money and athletics can be the reason. It drives me nuts that schools are being allowed to do it. I guess its no coincidence that JD gets accused of cheating and Logan high has a pair of twins that were caught re-playing 9th grade. Both have ties to USU's head coach.
wasatch | 9:14 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
Wrestling? are you kidding me? everyone who knows anything knows that the only contenders for a wrestling state title are wasatch and delta, just like the las 7 years!
Delta | 10:02 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
and it will be Delta for the next 7 hehehehe.
JD wrestling | 11:07 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
JD will never win a championship in wrestling unless they move into 5A where they belong. Delta, Uintah and Wasatch are too good.
Miner guy | 10:04 a.m. Nov. 5, 2009
Juan diego has no chance
Southern Heat | 10:13 a.m. Nov. 5, 2009
You can talk until your blue in the face but the fact still remains JD can get its players from anywhere they choose, in-state or out, and you wonder why they win. Give me my choice of just Washington County players and JD would lose every week in every sport. I've said it befor and here it comes again; organize a region for the private schools and let them play each other. Pretty simple.
Juan Diego | 10:45 a.m. Nov. 5, 2009
Juan Diego will take state in football this year. yayayaya
The Official | 11:35 a.m. Nov. 5, 2009
"Southern Heat"

People CHOOSE to attend JD, JD does not choose who attends the school. That is a misconception that people like you have, educate yourself before you make the same comments as others that do not have validity. Allow me to use your logic of you getting to choose the players from Wash. County. You would pick the largest and best linemen, fastest runners, the best athletes that know the sport you are playing. Now, take a look at the players JD football team has that have chosen to play at JD. They are not the biggest, fastest, strongest in the salt lake area, are they? It takes a lot more to win than just talent alone. It takes discipline, heart, coaching, parents involved...etc...
To have a private school region? That would be great to watch, JM, JD, Layton Christian, play each other for a season in any sport... what a simple solution? Come on... Try to think hard about how to solve a problem and whom it affects before making comments that reflect you don’t have the answers.
JD wins for a number of reasons, stop making excuses, and perhaps you can be a winner too
Re: you must be joking | 11:44 a.m. Nov. 5, 2009
You are right "you must be joking?"....this is a 3A blog not a state blog...ha ha...No one from JD would ever say that JD is the best given the competition in 4A and 5A...and by the way comparing scores is meaningless, haven't you been watching football for more than a few months....stop embarassing yourself...pathetic!
Hurricane | 1:33 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
Not worry there is a real 3A school that will be ready to take on Juan Diego.
Play US .... Please | 1:34 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
Timpview would love to see Juan Diego on the field.
re: Jwine | 5:26 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
You must be a product of public education.
Thanks for the laughs, now get back to class and learn something.
to: play us please | 7:52 p.m. Nov. 5, 2009
bring it, maybe you can compare talent when the allstar games take place. You take away the depth on your lines and JD will compete with anybody.
re: play us please | 2:13 p.m. Nov. 6, 2009
Ha, Ha,,,Timpview losing self confidence? wanna come "down to 3A" and play..what's wrong?...still not over your record this year (ha ha), need to come down and play where you might have a chance to go "undefeated" (that is long gone isn't it)...No one here is interested....save it for your whining in the stands!! ha ha
