far right's version of Chicken Little always crying about something. Even
Faux News does not list Beck, Hannity or OReilly as part of their news...they
are their own daily infomercial. Anyone who sees them as otherwise is

public square, takes a whole lot of persistence and diligence to uncover.
Listening to any one broadcaster/entertainer ain't gonna get you there.

Beck asks questions most of us want answered. He never claims to have all the
answers. He certainly has his opinions. His quests are usually faculty members
from Columbia University, the University of Chicago, New York University, other
members of the media, former federal prosecutors etc, etc and for the most part
they agree with his analysis. Are Beck's critics smarter than these
people? And why won't those that know answer his questions? Because they
are cowards.

Beck didn't examine or explore Jones more recent writings and ideas. We didn't know much about Van Jones before Beck targeted him and there is still much we don't know about Jones because that is where the information stopped. Beck's campaign against Van Jones was prompted by Color of Change's (which Jones had co-founded) campaign against Beck.
But Republicans have used Communists. Marvin Olasky JOINED the Communist Party after graduating from college but he was a campaign advisor to George Bush and his book was given to Republican freshman in Congress by Newt Gingrich. Republican leaders have quoted Mao as well.
This is nothing more than Rovian tactics and dirty politics courtesy of the Republican Party. Precisely why i joined the Democratic Party after spending 30+ yrs as an Independent.

Well said, Jennifer! Too bad there are not more Glenn Beck's in the world
to bring corruption to light. I had never watched his show but after seeing how
much he disturbs certain elements of our society to the point they seemingly
want to crucify him (and his fans LOL) I decided to view his program. Although
I don't agree with everything he says, I do appreciate that it is largely
through his efforts that some corrupt organizations and people are exposed,
forcing others to take at least a second look.
It is amusing that so many accuse Beck's viewers as not being able to think for themselves when it is obvious that they are equally biased in the other direction and not opening themselves up to a different way of thinking.

of the brightest and most innovative urban leaders in America. I challenge
fair-minded conservatives (if any exist) to read the Jan. 12 profile of Van
Jones in the New Yorker. You'll get quite a different picture than the
character assassin Beck gives.

like 60 Minutes USED to do.
Democrats are whining and complaining because it is THEY who are now being investigated and they aren't used to the scrutiny.
For many of us real Americans, I don't care WHO Beck shines the light on. It's really good to know who are enemies to the country no matter which party.
Right now -- Obama and his cronies are the biggest enemy to America.
Has any of the "acceptable news outlets" actually asked Obama what he meant when he said he was going to "fundmentally change America" and why he thought America needs a fundamental change?

anymore. Obama made personal visits to Virginia and New Jersey many times and

I've watched Beck, mulitple times. Actually I find him humorous. Really,
he's quite an act. And if people were tuning in to see a comedy act, he
wouldn't bother me at all. What is disturbing is that people, such as
yourself, take him seriously, believing he is providing truthful information or
information of any real value. What is disturbing is the misinformation, the
demonizing, and the fear mongering. It takes no intelligence to incite fear
among ignorant people.

Hey liberals who want communism because 'we americans are too stupid to
make our own choices.' I'm sure other countries like Russia and China
would welcome you since you love communism. If you think a corrupt government
should get more power, you should experience what government can do in China and
Russia. Also, how is Al Gore doing?!?! He is a hypocrit just as bad as anyone
else!!! This country is about FREEDOM, so go somewhere else if you don't
like FREEDOM. Obama and his administration are corrupt just like Bush was. Where
are the true leaders who will lead to less government and more individualism.
The main purpose of government is to provide an educational system and
protection (police, Firemen, military, etc...). Capitalism will prevail. Read
the 'Invisible Hand' by Adam Smith. That is how the economy turns
around, not because of government intervention. It is the cycle of economics. I
have friends who love Obama, but they don't even know what he stands for or
has done. All they know is he wants to 'CHANGE' things.

The smear/demonizing tactics used against Jones can be used against anyone. They were employed against Joseph Smith by his enemies as well.

Obama has said he loves the free market system, yet he surrounds himself with people who would dismantle it brick-by-brick, and look up to Mao as a great political philosopher. Words mean little (especially in the political arena). What matters more is action.

To the numerous Van Jones worshipers posting here today...
Just like you criticise Beck for cherry-picking the Jones speaches he chooses to play on his show... YOU also can't just cherry-pick one or 2 quotes that make him look like a capitalist loving choir boy. You have to take it ALL together. His days as a self proclaimed "Comunists and roudy black-nationalis" to his yelling at the indian tribes, "NO MORE BROKEN TREATIES... GIVE THEM THE WEALTH, GIVE THEM THE WEALTH, GIVE THEM THE WEALTH"!!! (Just a few months ago BTW)
Of course I'm cherry-picking too. I'm sure there are speaches where he's supporting the police (instead of running an anti-police rally in Oakland). I just haven't seen them cause I watch too much Glenn Beck.
But you have to admit that he's obviously said stuff on BOTH sides. And MUCH of it doesn't belong anywhere NEAR the White House.
If Democrats ever try to place Van Jones in the White House again (as a councelor OR as President)... I predict the backlash will make them wish they hadn't.

Beck isn't entertaining. Everything he says is LAME and the fact that
some people like him lessens my faith in America. As stupid as he is, anyone who
says he doesn't have influence is deluded.

To you Beck supporters who continue to invite "liberals" to watch Beck
- on a recent trip I watched Beck 4-straight nights to try to understand him and
his appeal. My first reaction: "this guy is nuts; how embarassing; what is
the appeal"? My second reaction: "okay, this guy is likeable; he has
a nice smile; he talks to the camera well." My third reaction: "this
guy is mean; behind the smile is a mean-spirited, hateful person who has little
political context to calibrate his hostility." So, I tried it, like you
suggest, and I still do not get it - what is his appeal?
