How can one of the options being offered be to "passing on the pay reduction to county residents"?
Don't the residents of the affected areas have a say in enacting new taxes?
I guess what they are saying is that "households" in unincorporated Salt Lake County should plan on a $120 a year property tax increase. Would apartment owners be assessed that amount on each unit? How much would a business nave to pay?
Call it a fee, call it an assessment, call it whatever you want: It is still a tax increase.
Why aren't they getting rid of the UPD change instead of making the costly change and then taxes the citizens?
They scream for more money. I watched as several million dollars just in cash alone was taken in drug arrest. Now if I understood this correctly the police department only has to split the difference with the feds. So where's the money? The money taken last year alone will pay this for the next several years to come. And by then how much more cash will be confiscated.
