I think that this should be a more frequent punishment. Public humiliation is much more effective than solitude, with free meals, behind bars.

It's hard to find anyone that would admit they voted for him even once.

What does this story have to do with voting for George Bush? I do think that it's disgusting adults would steel from a child on her birthday, no less. I think they should do jail time in addition to the sign display.

George Bush being in office for 8 years was a crime and people that voted for him should take the blame and put on the scarlet letter "W" where it can be seen.

As a young boy working in the 50's selling newspapers I can relate to this little girl and her mothers greed and disrespect.

In my working youth me and my brothers all worked to help with family needs and expenses with an agreement with our mother to keep a small amount of our earnings. I had developed an interest in coin collecting of pennies, dimes, and nickles and had many rarities that gained a lot of value over time. I had several books of these small denominations that after a decade astounded me in value. However, my mother tried to force me to sell them for her use and became irate at the refusal to sell them.

Then it started to happen. Other siblings were encouraged to steal these collections from me and sold or spent them at face value which was far from the collection value. Every effort to recover these coins was fruitless and lost forever. In today's market they would be worth thousands of dollars and still in my possession.

We were a poor family but she had no right to steal them from her own children. This shaming the mother is well deserved.
