Very Excited

Loving this team and this season. For what is a "rebuilding year", 7-1 is feeling pretty good, and the games have been exciting.

The way Wynn is speaking, it sounds like he will be playing this comming Saturday for sure. I think Cain will be suportive and hopefully will be ready to step in whenever and whereever he is asked to. He doesn't seem to have any sort of ego issues with the move.

Cain has been solid, and it's true that alot of the first half offensive woes weren't his fault, but I'm excited to see what Wynn is capable of as well. He definately looks young physically but heck, he is a true freshman after all.

It will be interesting to see what type of players these two grow into, and I think alot of that will be as a result of what type of work they put in off the field and during the offseason.

Go Utes!

Anyone but Louks! Ha ha!

Jordan Wynn is head and shoulders above the rest. But even DeVonte Christopher got more snaps that Corbin Louks.

Morale is better with Wynn, and that's not a knock against Cain. It just is.

It's about time...

that the media stops trying to create a QB controversy.

Whoever starts at the QB is okay as long as it's a win for Utah.

Moose on the Loose

If only the Utes had Hall, then all of their QB problems would be solved.

Lucky for the Cougs, there is only one Hall and he will be directing the airial attack later this month and should beat the Utes quite handily.

As for my Broncos, we continue to climb in the BCS and will soon be in the top 5.

Good thing the Y and the U got out of the WAC or they would be playing second fiddle to us on our Blue turf.

GO BOISE STATE!!!!!

Progressive

Gotta give Whiitingham credit for making the moves last week. In some ways pretty gutsy, and in others no choice, but all in all, right on Kyle.

What would everyone think...

If the Wyoming DB had caught the ball and run it back for a touchdown. Remember that play? The DB dropped the ball and it probably would have gone for a touchdown if he had caught it.

THere is lots of euphoria about Wynn. I'm not sure it is warranted. I have a lot more concerns about the play calling than I do Terrence Cain or whomever is quarterback. I think Cain would have been fine in the second half. The offensive line was horrible in the first half, but clearly was inspired in the second half.

re: Moose

This guy is the biggest fraud in history. Boise fan, yeah that's about the worst cover in the world. Claiming yesterday that TCU would destroy Utah. Sorry Zoob, but a real Boise fan would be praying for a Utah win over TCU so they can sneak into the BCS. If TCU wins out, Boise goes to San Diego again. And a real Boise fan would know that.

So sad that BYU fans have now had to mask themselves as other fanbases to try and make their remarks seem tougher.

Wynn is in

There is no battle anymore. Wynn will get the starters reps for the New Mexico game and build his confidence in that game. The next week will be tough, but that will be expected and shouldn't be too much of a shock. The game against SDSU could be tougher than some think, but it's in SLC so it will be a win for the Utes. The BYU game is a toss up with it being in Provo. But back to the article. His redshirt was pulled, so I would have to say the team is committed to Wynn.

LaVar the Utah Cat

Moose on the Loose has severe delusions. Moose, please take your meds and approach rational. Why the guardians of this comment section continue to allow him to foment anger and hate is beyond me. Freedom of speech does have reasonable limits, guardians! Especially on YOUR website. Every thing I have ever read from Moose is designed to irritate supporters of the Utah team.

No max hall

Its pathetic that the Utes still cant' decide on a qb. Neither one can carry maxs' athletic supporter. Riley is better than either one. And mckay jacobsen would beat either one in a race up Y mountain. Its' going to be a blowout in provo.

Perhaps

that inspiration was due to the intangibles of Wynn? Look I know what you see in Wynn is a true freshman, who almost threw a pick and who's throwing stats were pretty close but not quite as good as Cain's but there is some stuff that stats don't tell. For instance reading the defense, he was able to read the defense to open up bigger lanes for Wide who btw had a much bigger game in the second half than the first. Then you have to look at the speed he got throws off and the speed he got the ball snapped, he was getting plays off before the defense even set. Those are all things that showed a much more live and potent offense, but you don't see that in the stats do you.

Euphoria

Yes, there's a lot or euphoria about Wynn and to me it's clear that he should have been the choice all along. But I think Whittingham can be forgiven for not seeing the problems with Cain. Cain is a terrific athlete, he's fast, he's strong and he's solid. But Cain's "problems" negate these natural abilities. Cain hasn't the strength to go deep allowing defenses to cheat on him. Second, he's not good at reading defenses and making quick decisions. Third, he's fumble prone making him too big of a risk to run the option play. You put them all together and give opponents the chance to study and prepare for him and the net result is that he's actually gotten worse as the season has progressed.

Re: what would everyone think...

If you watch a replay of that pass you'll see that the receiver Wynn was throwing to would have been open, but he ran into a fellow receiver and because of it the DB was right there for the ball. It wasn't really a bad decision by Wynn, just some bad luck.

Ultimately, I'm not ready to say Wynn is THE guy, but Cain has been inconsistent all season, so I think Wynn deserves a chance. Something you can't blame the playcalling for is Cain's ineptitude when throwing the intermediate to deep routes. He just hasn't been accurate in those areas when given the opportunities and that's part of why Utah's offense has struggled so badly. They need a guy who can create a big play with his arm and I think Wynn presents the best opportunity to do that right now.

They'd think...

...Wyoming got away with a dirty play, that burned a Rookie QB.

The Reciever was being held up by the defender and he wasn't able to be there on the route. Wynn was relying on the timing of the route too much. Fortunately, it turned out to be a great learning experience for Wynn without the damage the play could have caused.

But your would of, could of, should of doesn't matter. There are a million of those types of things happening on both sides of the ball every game. The only thing that matters is who got the "W", and learning from those moments in the game.

With your same theory, Cain's status as starting QB wouldn't be in question had he not fumbled the ball so many times in his first 8 starts, or thrown it away instead of all too often taking a sack while trying to salvage broken down plays.

Cain's a stud but the offense has been stagnant for a couple of games now. It's not all his fault but, he hasn't done enough to warrant them not giving Wynn a shot.

RE: Moose on the Loose

I wouldn't trade either of the Utah QBs for Maxine "Deck Chair" Hall. And it's fairly obvious you're not a Boise State fan. For Boise to have any shot at overtaking TCU, Utah would have to beat the Frogs in Fort Worth. So like it or not, you have to cheer for the Utes next week! Because if TCU beats a top 15 BCS team, Boise can look forward to another undefeated regular season and being rewarded with a trip to the Poinsettia Bowl. But hey, at least San Diego is nice in December!

Oh we've decided on a QB

For the Utes-Y.B.U? game we are going with Max Hall.

Your right, no one throws a pass to our guys better than Max Hall! He was sensational last year!

Keep 'em coming Max!

Go UTES!

DRLL

It's pretty clear that both Cain and Wynn are at about the same level -- neither has done much to become head and shoulders better than the other. Given that point, Wynn seems like he may have slightly better leadership skills, he still has 3 years of eligibility after this year, neither QB is likely to beat TCU and either will be similarly effective/ineffective versus TDS (that game is much more about TDS's offense vs. Utah's defense anyway), so maybe you lean towards Wynn at this point.

Coach Kyle

What kind of coach sits his best QB during the first 7 games of the season, including a loss to Oregon? Utah's offense is in trouble, and the half time change was a desperate act that paid off only because an easy interception was dropped. What is clear is that Utah has two very medicore QB's, and the team's not-so-hidden weaknesses will be completely exposed when it runs into TCU's defense.

Hey losers.

At least we will get out of Boise for our bowl game. I hear you are coming here for yours. We'll make sure to have plenty of ice on the Blue turf for you.

Didn't you just score 3 points the last time we played? With your qb controversy that may be your season average from here on out!

And I am a BSU fan!!!

Ernest T. Bass

Just think how much better Wynn would be if he had a coach like Coach Bornco.
