Not to worry USU fans, Coach Andersen will restore USU football to a national power soon. Especially by bringing in those awesome 3A football players from Juan Diego. I mean gosh, the 5A teams can't compare to that kind of talent and competition.

I'm guessing our problems in the second half come mainly from having undersized offensive and defensive lines. Coach Anderson has them playing their hearts out, but the size and strength just isn't there yet.

Nevertheless, 3 of the next 4 games are very winnable, and if we get 2 of them we'll have more wins this year than we have had in a while. That will be a "good" start, and allow Anderson to continue to build the program. You don't turn things around in 1 season when your athletes give up so much in size/speed.

What I see is that Gary is unable to make adjustments at half-time. He plays to hold onto a lead instead of continuing to finish a game.

Thanks to CW for the game! We have plenty to play for and two or three more wins this season would be great.
Go Aggies!!

I have gone to USU and know first hand the football players are not disciplined enough to become a good team. Maybe when this group of students leave Gary Anderson can recruit players who will work hard in the classroom and on the field. The players he has now are a bunch of partiers and don't work hard enough to deserve to play on the USU Team.
RE: EX-AGGIES | 11:57 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
EVERY FOOTBALL TEAM IN AMERICA HAS PARTIERS. USU HAS SOME OF THE HIGHER GPA'S IN THE COUNTRY WHEN IT COMES TO FOOTBALL TEAMS. WHY DON'T YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU MAKE A COMMENT. TRY TO MAKE IT WORTH WHILE TO ALL OF US.
thought | 1:36 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
here's a thought, why not play second string in the first half and then play the first string in the second half. then they wouldn't be tired or whatever it is and it would be as if it was the first half and they could actually win for once.

bad thought... That's why you aren't coaching...
Re: Ex Aggie | 2:33 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
USU has one of the highest football player graduation rates in the country. Yes, even a lot higher than BYU or Utah.
Missing Mettle | 3:17 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
This team just misses the mettle to come out and finish game. Its understandable though when you've only one a handful of games over the last 20 years. I have my doubts that any coach can turn this program around, but at the same time I see a lot of positives in what Andersen is doing as well. In short only time will tell.

USU should beat Hawaii they are horrible. But than again USU should have beat up on New Mexico too.

The most the Aggies can hopeful is a win in Hawaii, than against San Jose, and beat Idaho. Boise State is close to a zero probability as you get and Idaho has shown it WILL win the close ones. So USU has their work cut out for them if they want to end the season on a more positive note.
I'll be happy | 3:46 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
with 2 more wins to improve over last year. 3 would be just grand. Perhaps a bowl game next year.
You Never know.... | 3:52 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
Ahhhhhhhh....The glory of College football. Games where the unexpected could happen. In reply to Missing Mettle...You never know....Boise at USU on a Cold November Friday Night...You never know....crazier thing have happened and will continue to happen...you never know!!!!!!!!!
Re: You Never Know... | 4:49 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
Your right there is a slight chance of USU winning but your talking about 1 out of 100 chance the Aggies win it, the odds may even be worse.

Romney Stadium isn't exactly an advantage, plenty of college teams go in there and hand it to the Aggies there all the time so the fact this game is in Logan means nothing. For Aggies there is no such thing as Home Field advantage.

Last time Boise was in Logan I think the final as 52-0. So you just might have to excuse me when I just don't believe anything "crazy" will happen in Logan against Boise St.

I just cant see USU going to a bowl game ever. IT might not be until the program is withdrawled and put back in. Lets not get our hopes up to high, after all it is Aggie football. Getting to National power is a laugh waiting to happen. Lets worry about winning more than 3 games a year first.
Ever? Withdrawled? | 10:32 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
The Utes and y ruin their season by putting all of their emphasis on trying to be a national power. They find no joy in a 10 win season. They have my pity.

As a life long Aggie I just want USU to have a winning record and have a chance at the conference title.

Having attended games this year and seeing the progress made I fully expect USU to be bowl eligible next season. In three to five years I expect the Aggies to be competitive enough to at least challenge BSU.

As for this year, BSU is by far the best team that the Aggies will face. Boise would have a hay day against the y or U.

Go Big Blue!!!

Return to a national power???? WHEN did that every happen!????!!! Thanks for the laugh to start the morning!!
re: re: USU fan | 9:43 a.m. Nov. 4, 2009
You must be 12 or younger because USU back in the day was in the top 10.
Ex-Aggie | 11:09 a.m. Nov. 9, 2009
What happened in Hawaii!! My point was proven again!! NO DISCIPLINE AT ALL!!!! What do they do everyday in practice?? These players don't have the will, desire, or PRIDE to at least COMPETE!! Where's the PARTY and I guarantee the will and desire for these players will be there!! It's SO SAD!! Aggie football will NEVER be competitive! Drop the program!! Coach Anderson should sit down with Stew Morrill for a little bit of advice on how to recruit quality players!!!
