Please sign Boozer to a bigger contract! Continue the mediocrity!
KJ | 3:52 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Here come the wannabe season ticket holders saying they won't be renewing their tickets if the Jazz re-sign Boozer. Here come the "Boozer is a Loozer" posts. Here come the "Boozer can't play D" posts, without mentioning that Okur is just as porous of a defender. Here come the "they won't re-sign Boozer after he sneezes and gets injured" posts. I think that about sums up what the posts will entail, so save yourself the trouble, Boozer Haters.
Good ol' Boozer | 3:53 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009

Really? I'm sorry, but I think that Boozer's time is up here. This team needs just one or two tweaks to get over the hump. In other words, get someone that can defend. Boozer really hasn't so far. Miller family, listen to your fans!
Very Typical | 4:10 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Typical car saleman talk. What a deal, you better buy-just sign here-best buy in town-we will also fill it with fuel-it has a 10yr, 100,000 mile guarantee-gets 50 miles to the gallon! Give me a break.

Why do I always feel so uncomfortable when Greg Miller opens his mouth? I heard his veiled "threat" to the crowd on opening night (about moving the team if he didn't get the appropriate fan support) and then his humorless, almost peeved manner last night during the interview.

Actually, he reminds me of Bronco Mendenhall--in perpetual annoyance that a reporter has to actually make him express himself. Greg, do yourself a favor, stay off the air and out of the limelight. Watching you doesn't exactly make me want to buy a basketball ticket or shop at your car dealerships.
Not Asleep | 4:38 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
The Jazz management is a top notch organization. They are always classy. I think we have a good team that can do some great things if we keep them together.
Exactly | 4:41 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Yeah let's talk about bringing players back with only a few games played in the season. Let's wait for Carlos to get injured, sit on the bench texting while we all know he could be playing, and distance himself from the fans before we talk about bringing him back. Oh and most importantly let's see if Carlos can play DEFENSE. Remember Greg this summer when you said that Carlos needed to play better DEFENSE before any negotiations took place? Huh? Let's do what good teams in this league do and EVALUATE a players performance during the ENTIRE season before we talk about bringing him back? You loose all leverage when you talk about wanting him back so early in the season. Make him sweat and earn his playing time, and hope of a future contract. Greg you are dropping the ball on the whole Owner role you inherited. Wait until things unfold. Why the rush?
Ummm.... | 4:43 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
people who think the Jazz are contenders are kidding themselves. Not enough athletes. A good, solid, second round playoff team. That's what you have here. Be happy with it.
Iowa Jazz Fan 2 | 4:55 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Read Greg's enthusiastic remarks about Boozer, and then read Boozer's very luke warm, non-committal responses. Then tell me Carlos wants to be here.
I give Miller credit | 5:11 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
for digging deep and paying too much for this team. However, I would like to see some real results in improving the defense, the outside shooting, the road game record and the back to back record.

These problems have been long term and appearent to the fans and all NBA teams. Maybe the players need to be changed? Maybe the coach needs to be changed? But doing the same thing over and over with no better results is not sound management.

It is not putting the best product on the floor.

Boozer and Millsap are too short to compete against the tall line ups of LA, SA, and maybe POR and DEN.

If you are going to over pay at least get the talent that will allow you to compete.

The fans expect results for thier money. They expect Miller to be a sound businessman and get results, not overpay for a mediocre product.

The fans want intelligent change that will fix the solutions. If that means replacing Boozer or Jerry then they should be replaced.

Top teams find solutions. Look at SA they have bad years but they come back the next. They do not drink continuity kool aid.
Anonymous | 5:41 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Miller is not dumb enough to bring Loozer back but from the looks of things most posters here are dumb enough to think he is. Its called trying to give value and praise to an asset you wish to move...wake up Jazznation!
re:" I give miller... | 5:48 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
what you say?

"Top teams find solutions. Look at SA they have bad years but they come back the next. They do not drink continuity kool aid."

Duncan? Popovich?

San Antonio has modeled themselves very closely to Utah.

David Robinson gets injured but could come back and play but they INTENTIONALLY LEFT HIM ON INJURED RESERVE AND TANKED GAMES TO INTENTIONALLY LOSE GAMES TO GET THE DRAFT PICK TO GET DUNCAN.

Spurs have lost some years even with Duncan...what do they do? Do they quit and get a new coach? No. They stick with helped them continually improve and get better. They only add minor role players JUST LIKE THE JAZZ DID WHEN STOCKTON AND MALONE WERE HERE AND THEY EVENTUALLY GOT TO THE NBA FINALS!!!

Now we are rebuilding whether you like it or not. Mot fans do not want to believe it but it is true. This team is the 5th youngest in the entire NBA!! They are only 5 months older in average age than the youngest.

Get real--this team with all these young kids can not contend but they can get better each year and learn how to win.

Patience daniel san.

We don't need Boozer to compete in the West. Trade him off and give Kosta & Fes more playing time to get them seasoned enough to make a presence down in the paint. Then just pick up another decent secondary forward and start Millsap. They need to consider the fact that Okur is getting older (still great though) and just need to adjust to that situation.

We're Going No Where | 7:14 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Yep! We're toast.

Greg: Sell the Jazz to someone who has the guts to do the right thing: Fire Sloan and Trade Boozer.

You're WRONG Greg Miller . . . way WRONG!
TARP | 7:46 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Would this be considered a BOOZER BAILOUT?
the Mailman | 9:15 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Way to go Jerry!!

So predictable to leave Fez on the bench all game.

Outhustled by a buch of no names again!
This time its the world famous Chase Budinger among others that torches the Jazz.

What an inspiration. Sign him up for eternity!!

sadudee | 9:20 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Let him go away. You can see how bad he played on the Rockets's Game. A lot of turnover came from him. If Miller bring him back, it is a nightmare for JazzFan.
IowaJazzMan | 9:20 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
After watching this garbage put on the floor tonight against a lame rockets team...and you want an extension??? What a waste of carbon. What a PATHETIC effort tonight.
the Mailman | 9:24 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Oh hang on, it must be Boozers fault right??

Does anyone need anymore proof that this team wont play for its coach. What a predictable man he is, just sticks with the same players, no subs, no change in strategy, just hope that things will turn around. And he proves it with his comments after evry game - he dont have the answers, thats for the players to work out.

This team stinks, and everything always rots from the head.

Sign him up again! Thats the spirit!!
king Black | 9:27 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
still wanna resign boozer after another horrible game. Utah should be however thinking about re-signing Ronnie Brewer so far this season he has proved that he has worked on his shot and his all around offense not sure about his defense though since haven't seen a game yet.
Nevada fan | 9:41 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
To not asleep: It's Monday night after the Rockets beat down, now what you think about the Jazz Management and coaching. For being 2ND highest payroll, I just dunno.
todd from santa ana | 9:47 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
just wait
What a beat down... | 9:48 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
DWill + 11 over-paid roll players got a beat down at home by team of 12 roll players.

2nd hightest pay roll in the league cannot even win the rockets? Glad I didn't wast money on season tickets this year.

Hate to say this but we are in for a long season not only road loses but now at home.

This year I am cheering for anyone that plays New York...

Go 2 Lottry Picks!!
Kofus Should Start | 9:58 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
I thought the season was over when we signed Okur and couldn't get rid of Boozer.

Please someone tell me why we signed him Okur for $9 million a year? Couldn't we find a cheaper 3 point specialist?

This season is over we are a 40 win team at best.

Shouldn't Boozer be setting on the bench and give the young guys, Kofus and Fez, more playing time. That way the season isn't all a waste.

Also, when was last time a Salon led team won 20+ games on the road without Stockton and Malone.
Car Salesman talk... | 10:36 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
When you got a clunker on the lot you tie baloons on im' and polish it up....could be a future collectors item, etc. etc.. Boozer needs to be marketable and Greg knows it so he wants the best possible performance out of this clunker so he can sell'im. You got to understand used car marketing .... Greg Miller does. Greg, you keep him for your personal collection, we want a real player.
Jerry, start Fez.
KJ | 10:41 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
I will bet you brake for racoons too. Come on, you are not a Jazz fan.
Miller really tries, but | 1:03 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
maybe he will realize after the Jazz lose to DAL and SA just how bad he has been taken to the cleaners by Sloan and KOC.

If he does not do something pretty quick he will lose the fan base. This team and it's coach, coaching philosophy and management are a disaster because they refuse to do what they need to do to fix the real problems that exist with the team and their approach to the game.

The problems have been obvious for at least 2 years and putting your head deeper into the ground will only make it worse.

It is not wise to extend Sloan. You need to make changes before you lose the fan base. Sloan's system does not work without the right players and he does not have the right players. Sloan also is not capable of providing a team that defends.

The assistants are no better. The game has moved beyond the Sloan system. Sloan can't even run his own system any more.

This team only plays when it gets the right match up and when it feels like playing.

I actually feel bad for the Jazz and Millers.

So far, I wonder what Boozer is playing for. Can't be for a bigger contract next year.
Koufus is not the answer | 7:51 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
Its laughable to say "Bench Boozer, start Koufus" How ridiculous of a statement can you make? Boozer is a 20/10 guy, Koufus didn't even get 10/10 in the D-League. Koufus doesn't play that great of defense either.

Jazz fans aren't always that bright. Like the hostile environment they are creating for Boozer in the ESA. How do they expect him to play better with everyone being so critical? Lay off Boozer, or the Jazz won't win. When Boozer plays bad, the Jazz are bad, when he plays well, the Jazz are one of the better teams in the league.

So many fans would rather see Boozer fail than the Jazz succeed.
The Truth | 9:37 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
Can going another direction with the coaching staff be called being hair triggered after 20 years....bizzare!
lakers  | 10:39 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
got beat down at home the other night...are people calling for Phil to leave and Bynum to go? Teams lose sometimes...sometimes badly...and other nights they will win...way too soon to start blowing it all up.
todd to the truth | 11:11 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
actually if it was up to the "sloanaholics" Jerry and the assistants will get a new 20 year deal...

"continuity"

"being competitive"

No lets keep the same roster year after because O Connor told the brainwashed

It is a great roster, can go far in the playoffs

I notice when Boyzer comes in and stinks the rest of the team sees that and thinks oh well we will stink also

@ Koufus is not the answer | 7:51 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009

Actually Koufus had 16.7 ppg, 8.4 RPG, 2.6 bpg
playing 29 minutes in 10 games for the D-league last year.
He also played pretty well in the few minutes he got last year in the NBA.
( 4.7 ppg on 50% shooting,.6 bpg, 2.9 rpg in 11 minutes)
When Collins came back from injury he sat on the bench. That was a mistake because Koufus was giving us much more than Collins.

You are right that Koufus is not the answer and is not as good as Boozer.

But I think he earned more playing time then he is getting.
JRBR | 12:40 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
Heard a rumor that the Miller family is looking to sell the Jazz once Sloan leaves/retires. Let's hope that if that happens, the new owner(s) keep the Jazz in Salt Lake.
todd to jrbr | 2:10 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
greatttttt like tony the tiger.... ah what a marriage Jerry and the Millers. So touching

tell me how fast can you make this happen???
The Truth @ Todd | 2:25 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
Sloan wanted the roster back intact, so he should be held accountable for the product on the floor. Three games does not a season make, however, I think most fans are upset at the lack of defensive progress which Sloan said he would hold players accountable for? Jerry you have the perfect reason to put Milsap in the starting spot because Booz has failed to produce.....let's see how that works??
louisiana jazz man | 3:12 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
sloan loves him some boz. i wouldnt be surprised if they resign boz and trade millsap.
ahem, greg | 12:07 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
you've got the longest tenured coach in professional sports. so. no chance of getting called out for the "flavor of the month" ownership faux pas. fans think you should worry more about the "losing home games" faux pas. The chips on Sloan's shoulders are getting too heavy for the fan base to watch any longer.

please. gently put Ole Yeller out to pasture. Right now! before the season and fan-base are lost for good. please.

Announce the changing of the guard now, before the season gets any uglier - which it will. Sloan goes out on a high-note, while it's still possible. Phase in Hornacek. By April Jeff calls the shots, courtside on the bench. It's smart. winning. highly marketable. what's not to love?
Aaron Johnson | 1:38 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
Yes way to go Jerry, you really stunk that game. How many games is it going to take you to figure out somthing is wrong. You know these blogs are right you and boozer need to go. Put hornisec in as coach. Sloan knows how to coach college ball and that won't work in the NBA.
So I will end on this note GET Rid of SLOAN & BOOZER and your fan will be happy again.
