If they spent half the time protecting kids as they do protecting the abusers, there wouldn't have been any abuse going on in the first place.

Pretty sickening and sad that houses of worship have turned into a child predators best hunting grounds.

I am LDS now, used to be Catholic. My question is what about separation of Church and State here? The Catholic Church should have taken care of this problem, end of story. If they turn the Priests over to the authorities, great! If they served a sentence, great, but if they are "COURT" documents, why wouldn't they want them released? This is a GOVERNMENT ISSUE once the court gets involved, unless a deal was struck to keep them PRIVATE. END OF STORY! The sad fact is, MEN, whether of God or not MAKE MISTAKES! They can be influenced by Satan, and they can err on the side of wrong from time to time. If the Catholic Church who is OBVIOUSLY CHRISTIAN stuck to BIBLE THEOLOGY rather than make stuff up, Biships, and Priests could marry, I think there is a scripture, "A bishop should be the husband of one wife" Yet they are forbidden to marry? I won't get into the NO MEAT thing, or anything else, the fact is, it's public record and they haven't had their records expunged. END OF STORY, Sorry.

Great news and shame on the religion to expect all humanity to forget all the crimial acts brought on by the so called leaders of the church. No one should be above the moral and legal law!

Church rights? | 5:10 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
Once a priest steps out of his duties as a church official and commits a crime it is in the power of the state to prosecute for breaking civil laws. Prosecuting for a crime by any religious leader or priest is not unconstitutional, in fact it is unconstitutional for religious sects have their own powers to subvert the laws of the land. Once the law is broken, the priest becomes the property of the state and religion is immaterial.
