Well this all just really wonderful news. Hows our defense coming along did anyone ask Jerry about that?

Todd you brought up a truly wonderful point. I was thinking back to the Laker series, you know that Miles kid played as good a defense on Colby Bryant as anyone in this organization ever has. Don't be surprized if C.J. comes back after his injury and does great things on the basketball court. Another player that Ellen and I are watching is the Fesenko boy. It is wonderful to see such raw talent develop into a defensive force down in the paint. It's about time someone closed that freeway down.

See you at the game everybody!

Rockets beat Portland... how can they not be dangerous?
Miles | 9:13 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
That's right Todd, until CJ is back, the Jazz will be weak on defense. A big part of the problem is Dwill. He plays no defense, then he gets no help from Boozer. It's like playing 3 0n 5 on defense with those two on the court.
That's good | 9:22 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
The funny thing is, the way the Jazz are playing defense their "natural" first-round pick could be higher than the one they get from NY.
re:that's good | 10:39 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Right, the Jazz are going to lose more games than New York because they don't play defense very well. Put down whatever you are smoking and get yourself some help.
re: Miles | 10:48 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
We all find it comical how Miles criticizes other team mates yet he has a reputation for being one of the softest players on the floor.

I mean if he actually gets in the lane where there is some action, and gets a rebound it is practically an accident.

This is only Miles 4th season and we are yet to even see a player that is anything more than filler in the starting lineup.

Sloan has essentially said he has to have AK come off the bench because CJ's inadequacies are masked by being surrounded by the other starters.

AK has to come off the bench because if CJ was in that lineup it would be abysmall.

Ya, keep tossing out the complaints Miles but don't let it block your vision of looking in the mirror.

Everyone is tired of waiting for your "potential". You will be traded if we don't see it actually develop into something on the floor for more than one consecutive game this season.

Could we get some relief if we traded Boozer, Korver, A.K.( oooh, he's pricey though ), and Harpring, for as many 1st round picks as we could get back in return?
Sean | 11:15 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Deron plays better defense then anyone else. Andrei and booz are the two that kill the jazz. Cj played good defense one game. What happened the next game? Oh yeah 30 plus from Kobe. Him and brewer were too busy taking credit to realize what happened. Sloan needs to quit. He will never get the best effort out of players like cj brewer and korver.

the funny thing is that what the article doesn't mention is that the Jazz traded a protected 1st rounder to 76er's for Kyle Korver: If Jazz are one of the best 13 teams in the league this season, 76er's get the better of the two picks the Jazz hold. (and 76er's later traded it on to Timberwolves).

If Jazz are one of the worst 17 teams, then they keep both 1st round picks.

This is why Jerry is not looking at the pick - he wants to be a good team, and thus they don't get to keep the knicks pick!

re-re: Miles: You mean to tell me this has been the real CJ Miles on here the whole time, amazing!

re fan: I'm pretty sure the Knicks pick has no involvement in the Korver trade. But I could be wrong. Anyone?
Miles | 12:22 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
@Sean: What games do you watch? Dwill never plays defense. AK does. Dwill and Korver are the reasons that Boozer is always jumping out of the penetrators way. If those two stopped penetration, Boozer would look at world on defense.

If CJ had not been hurt, he would have been an allstar this year. There was no stopping him.
Cowboy Joe to Fan | 12:52 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
To are wrong. The Knicks pick is the Jazz irregardless of what happens. The 76ers get the Jazz pick if the Jazz aren't in the Lottery. If the Jazz are in the Lottery they keep that pick also.

If the Jazz don't make the playoffs, which is a possibility, the have two lottery picks. If they make the playoffs they only have one 1st round pick, the knicks pick, and there pick goes to the 76ers
Soupe | 1:05 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
@Aunt Virgina: I don't know which playoff game did you watch but Kobe Bryant drove passed Miles like he was not even there. Miles is not the answer, Ronnie B is.

Once again I find it kind of weird that everyone keeps talking about how bad the Jazz defense is which may be true for now.... but then I look around the league at all the other top teams more preferably the Western Conf. and see that they are giving up way more points than the Jazz have so far in point differential and total points in most cases.
AK is a probem | 3:17 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
AK might be the worst staring frontcourt player in the NBA. AK along with Sloan have pretty much destroyed this team.
fan | 3:20 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Cowboy Joe: I agree with you with a slight exception

if Jazz are in Bottom 17 teams (which is better than 'Lottery'), they keep two picks.

if they are in Top 13 teams, they give up the BETTER of the two picks to 76ers

(and 76ers traded the option to Timberwolves)

If Brewer is the answer to a championship, I am moving to Greenland and starting up a surf shop.
