amen!
Anonymous | 5:04 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Criminals get free healthcare. What about crooks like Madoff who now gets free healthcare in prison for the rest of his life for stealing Billions of dollars. We pay for his healthcare with the taxes from our paychecks.

How about we who obey the law? Shouldnt we get those healthcare benefits back in free healthcare if we are paying tax dollars?

What a warped system!
Not Beck's job! | 5:55 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
It's not Beck job to go investigating the past Bush Administration. What's done is done, and we should just go forward. Bush has done so much good for the world -- like cutting our taxes. We should try to balance the all the good he has done to "perceived" failures. Remember, Iraq and Afganistan have given our boys jobs! It's not some socialist system out there!

Boy, does this letter hit a home run.

Glenn Beck will prove to be a major embaressment to Mitt Romney if he chooses to run for the Presidency in 2012. He already is an embaressment to the LDS Church.
What? | 7:05 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
What on earth is he talking about?
Anonymous | 7:10 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Breck England, you're exposing the utter hypocrisy of Glenn Beck and other peddlers of hate and misinformation. Great letter!
breck baby | 7:33 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
ACORN is not some benign innoncent organization. It is corrupt to the core as are its principles, like Obama. When will you stop looking the other way and see the chicago thug organizer for who he is? When will you live in the present and stop blaming Bush for all lifes ills? ACORN is offencive and illegal for what it has done in voter fraud and bullying banks to make loans to people who have no business buying homes.
Hypocrisy | 7:55 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Hahaha! couldn't have written a better letter myself!

O"r does Beck's outrage extend only as far as organizations with loose connections to Obama? Talk about swallowing camels."

Oh Breck, I think we all know the answer to that. Anything that makes Republicans look bad, Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh run away from. Anything that makes Democrats look bad, or that they can use as scare tactics, or lie about, they use.

They are nothing more than political hacks used to spread Right Wing Propaganda. Had they been respected journalists, they would have tackled the big issues(like Haliburton) a long time ago.
RedShirt | 7:56 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
To "Breck England" you are wrong when you said "that Glenn Beck has smashed ACORN for the behavior of a few dimwit employees". It wasn't because of a few dimwit employees who got videotaped. Glenn Beck smashed them because they are a extreamist group that is looking to collapse the US government under its own weight.

Had you been listening to Glenn, he has done investigations into the founders of ACORN, and they are Marxists who want to get rid of capitalism and put up their own economic system.
Imo | 7:56 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Why ask why Glenn Beck isn't doing something? Beck is a radio/tv personality. The man that Obama appointed to head the Justice Department, Eric Holder, is the man that should be heading up any investigation Breck England think is necessary. Right?
Love it | 8:27 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
That's one of the best letters of the year! I could not agree more.
lost in DC | 8:46 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Imo, we know Holder won't investigate anything that sheds a negative light on BO or any of the Chicago cabal, including ACORN.

Verlo | 8:51 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Acorn, who bo has strong ties to, is as corrupt as he is. Google acorn voter fraud.
Hypocrisy | 8:59 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
"Why ask why Glenn Beck isn't doing something?"

I thought it was his job to do SOLID unbiased reporting? I mean, that's what you right wing nutjobs have been telling me the past few weeks in this forum.

The author clearly and cleverly just exposed Glenn Beck's hypocrisy. You nutcakes must be feeling like the emperor without clothes on right now.
Just more proof.. | 9:18 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
This is just more proof that the Left will NEVER get over attacking and blaming President Bush.

They just can't!

And yet they expect everyone ELSE to do the exact OPPOSITE of what THEY are CURRENTLY doing when it comes to President Obama???

You know... the more you attack Bush, the more people are going to attack Obama. It's that what goes around comes around thingy.
How about Wall Street? | 9:37 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Investigate them for messing up our country and then revieving bailout money. Both from Bush and Obama.
Wrex | 9:50 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Awesome Letter!!!!!!!

ACORN is a small nut compared to the giant tree that is Haliburton. Haliburton is corporate welfare at its worst. But at least it made Dick Cheney rich.
Question? | 9:52 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
How many trillions did wall street recieve because of deregulation?
RedShirt | 10:03 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
To "Hypocrisy | 8:59 a.m." actually Glenn's job has nothing to do with unbiased reporting. His job is a political commentator with a conservative bias.

If you watched Glenn's interview on The View, they asked him if he was a journalist. He said "No". It is CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, Fox's, the NY Times, and other news companies jobs to give unbiased news when reporting the news. Opinion pages and shows can have whatever bias the host desires.
Re "Wrex | 9:50 a.m." | 10:51 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
To Wrex | 9:50 a.m. AND all the Haliburton obsessed...

It's pretty obvious what you are trying to do when you compare ACORN and Haliburton, but there are major difference you need to consider:

- Haliburton may be dispicable to you, but they are a Private company, not a "Non-Profit" Federally funded community organizing group, like ACORN.

- ACORN is in the business of affecting our elections, our government, how we are represented in Washington DC, etc. Haliburton isn't in that business. They can't SWING elections (like ACORN can, but shouldn't).

- Haliburton is a Defense Contractor. NOT a political organizing committee funded by OUR tax dollars with the hope that they can nudge the election the way a certain political party wishes it would go.

- Your obvious intent is to harm Bush by attacking Haliburton. I don't think the same thing goes for ACORN. We just want them UN_Funded (IF they are corrupting the election_process). Nobody's trying to BLAME Obama for ACORNs actions! But it's obvious you feel IF you can attack Haliburton enough... Somehow that guilt gets projected to Bush.

Democrats (including Clinton) gave contracts to Haliburton too you know.
@Red Shirt 10:03 | 11:00 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Reading between the lines of your post, it is easy to see that you don't mind rape and murder as long as it happens on the Republican watch. Whatever tax-subsidized ACORN employees were tricked into doing is absolutely nothing compared to what tax-subsidized Halliburton has done.
Hypocrisy | 11:06 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
"If you watched Glenn's interview on The View, they asked him if he was a journalist. He said "No"."

So you're basically admitting that a self proclaimed Rodeo clown is your champion? Awesome.

The right keeps getting more and more desperate.

Great letter Breck! I nearly spilled my coffee today laughing so hard!
@ "Hypocrisy | 7:55 a.m." | 11:16 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Talking about Hypocrisy!

You people are abviously buying into the bogus theory that if you can attack a company... that has connections to your political enemies... You can do some sort of political-harm to them indirectly by attacking that company??? I don't think most people's minds work that way (just political hacks).

And ironically "Hypocrisy | 7:55 a.m." you blame the MEDIA for not tackling the big issues(like Haliburton) a long time ago?

You realise that ironically Haliburton hasn't been CHARGED or found "GUILTY" of ANYTHING (just attacked endlessly by political hacks like you). But ACORN IS officially charge with crimes and being prossecuted for CRIMES in 14 states. 30 ACORN employees have already pleaded "GUILTY". Their founder and president was found "GUILTY" of embezling over 1 MILLION Dollars (which his RICH political-pundit buddies quickly paid back for him so he wouldn't go to jail).

ACORN is CORRUPT TO THE CORE!!! And all you can do is defend them... and take pot_shots at Halliburton??? In hopes of deflecting SOME of the negative attention to BUSH???

Your GAME is LAME!

What LAWS did Haliburton break???
Do you want a list for ACORN???
RedShirt | 11:19 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
To "Wrex | 9:50 a.m. " what about the corporate welfare that the UAW received through the buyout of Chrysler and GM? What about the AIG bailouts, and other bank bailouts that have gone to the pockets of Obama supporters?

What about the climate bill that will put Billions of dollars into Al Gore's pocket, is that evil too?

Why is it only wrong if a company has Republican ties, and is acceptable when a company has Democrat ties?

According to Congressman Michele Bachmann, the Community Reinvestment Act required banks to give money or equipment to community organization groups, such as ACORN, or they would have their lending business cut off in those areas. So, isn't ACORN worse, because they are being paid off for doing nothing.

Also, if you dislike Haliburton so much, please name another company that can do what Haliburton does.

To "Question? | 9:52 a.m." Wall Street has received no money as a result of deregulation. Since the 1960's, or longer, the banking industry has had INCREASES in regulations, including regulations that required them to give out sub-prime loans.
To "Wrex | 9:50 a.m." | 11:44 a.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Wrex | 9:50 a.m.

How is Haliburton making Dick Cheney rich?

He recieved a defered salary from them till 2004, but his anual salary wasn't even as much as President Clinton makes for ONE speaking engagement. It wasn't even even 1/4 of what President Clinton OR Hillary Clinton got for the ADVANCE payment on each book they wrote about their days in the White House!

AL Gore isn't poor. The Clintons aren't poor. Both are profiting greately from their political connections. Are you attacking THEM for profiting?

Obviously not!

Do YOU have an agenda in your SELECTIVE indignation?

Obviously!
To "11:00 a.m." | 12:13 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
I'm not Red Shirt, but I wanted to point out how lame your game is.

You seem to assume that if an employee of Haliburton is accused of rape... That's Bush's fault?

So are you saying IF an employee of ACORN is ever accused of Rape... It's OBAMA'S fault?

Just want to make sure I understand the rules of the game you're playing.

People do bad things all the time (Haliburton employee or not). It doesn't make sense to me, to blame the person who gave a contract to a company for the subsequent individual behavior of the employees of that company.

If this game were valid ALL Presidents would be living under some sort of condemnation.

Conservatives are NOT saying Obama is guilty indirectly because ACORN employees do bad things. They are just saying the ACORN organization is corrupt all the way to it's president (Wade Rathke)and needs to NOT be funded or given access to tax funds when we KNOW they are out to illegally influence our elections.

There are OTHER organizations who can do what ACORN does that don't have the stench of corruption ACORN does.

I notice that you cannot deny or refute anything that I wrote at 10:03 a.m..

You just make it a personal attack so that you don't look bad. You are using a tired liberal method of attacking the messenger once you have been exposed. You have done it before, and will probably do it again. I just like posting this to the world so they can see that liberals attack people who use facts to prove liberals wrong.

Please get watch the video or do some research on Glenn Beck before you continue to verbally attack my character while avoiding discussing the facts.

I know you neocons are just PLAYING dumb.
Would you as the former CEO of the world's largest defense contractor, mysteriously sell all your stock, interest, retirement etc., insist that your former company (Halliburton) not receive any mysterious no-bid contracts for a war created on lies because its the right and fair thing to do?
LOL!

I'm going to have to keep playing_dumb (until you answer at least ONE of the questions in my original post).

How is being the FORMER executive of a company a bad thing?

Google "Kerry ad implies cheney has financial interest in Haliburton". Click the link to "FactCheck.org" (a fair and reliable source). Read the article titled, "Kerry Ad FALSELY Accuses Cheney on Halliburton" (dated Sept 30, 2004).

The impartial analysis states...

Contrary to this ad's message, Cheney doesn't gain financially from the contracts given to the company he once headed.
Summary
A Kerry ad implies Cheney has a financial interest in Halliburton and is profiting from the company's contracts in Iraq. The fact is, Cheney doesn't gain a penny from Halliburton's contracts, and almost certainly won't lose even if Halliburton goes bankrupt.
The ad claims Cheney got $2 million from Halliburton "as vice president," which is false. Actually, nearly $1.6 million of that was paid before Cheney took office. More importantly, all of it was earned before he was a candidate, when he was the company's chief executive.

Read the "Analysis" section for more FACTS (over 200 words).

It's hilarious that none of the nutcakes have actually addressed the author's main points. They just continually try and use the same tactics that failed them in the election, fear and smear. Sorry, but using Rush's strategy just doesn't work here my friends!

The author has clearly exposed the hypocrisy of Glenn Beck. For you nutcakes to defend him tells a lot.

It's a shame when members of the media put politics ahead of the truth. Men like Glenn Beck have found that they earn more money being hateful and saying outrageous things than actually helping our country.
Hypocrisy | 5:07 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
@ 4:26 pm "Will the Left EVER be able to get over the Haliburton conspiracy theory???"

this coming from a group of people who believe that the President isn't a citizen?

This coming from a group of people who believe the President is a Communist?

This coming from a group of people who believe the President has a deep seeded hatred for white culture?

Wow, you nutcakes are getting more and more desperate by the day! I say the President must be doing a lot of good things if it means those who supported Cheney and Bush are so up in arms. The right wing sees that they have become non-existent in today's politics. They are like a little bully who has finally been exposed. the louder they yell the more we normal Americans ignore them.
Investigations? | 5:19 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
Why has there never been an honest investigation of Barney Frank and his role in the banking collapse with Freddy Mac and Fanny Mae? Why wasn't Hillary Clinton prosecuted for the Cattlegate scam or her missing documents caper? Why wasn't here every any serious investigations of Jenifer Flowers' complaints against Slick Willy? Barking about Haliburton (no evidence) crimes pale in comparison to the real crooks who are now running the government. The Democratic party is a safe haven for crooks.

WallStreet, Halliburton, CORPORATE America is playing both sides, and they ARE the Gadianton's.

If Beck and the rest of you nutcakes can't see the obvious, then you're just as much a part of the problem!!!

There is plenty of blame to go around on every one of these issues, both republican & Democrat. I have voted for individuals on both tickets in my past and will continue to do so, but I am now an Independent never to return to either of the 2 fore mentioned parties. I can't believe the blinders on attitude this state has regarding their dearly loved republican party. The reddest of the red in the U.S. What a title to have, it is nothing less than a complete embarrassment for myself and many others. As for Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity types it just proves what kind of residents we have here. To support anything about these three you have just got to have wool covering you skin.
PINK BLOUSE | 7:32 p.m. Nov. 2, 2009
I don't recall.

I can't remember.

No wonder BUSH had so much difficulty in his presidency.

His BRAIN (CHEE-KNEE) cannot recall or remember...

ANYTHING

about what happened during those 8 years.

Is that anything like what the MOB does when they start quoting the "fifth amendment"?

Any effort to tie our former veep to a CORRUPT HALIBURTON or to condem them for accepting NO-BID GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS as well as a COMPLETE FAILURE to MONITOR what their mercenaries were doing should not be tied to a person who CANNOT REMEMBER ANYTHING.

Some would call DICK CHEE-KNEE A CROOK.

He can't remember anything, however,

so the fact that DICK CHEE-KNEE IS A CROOK will have to wait to be debated until CHEE-KNEES lost memory returns.

RE "PINK BLOUSE | 7:32 p.m." | 9:04 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
PINK BLOUSE | 7:32 p.m.

Interesting and ironic that you would call Dick Cheney (who hasn't been charge with a SINGLE crime)a "Crook".... And at the same time defend ACORN (Which is charged with numerous crimes in MANY states, over 30 ACORN employees have already plead GUILTY to crimes, and their founder and leader was found GUILTY of embezzling over $1 MILLION (which his rich media friends paid back to protect him).

Isn't that a little ironic to YOU? That the one you call a "Crook" has broken NO LAWS. But the group and the PEOPLE you defend... have already been found GUILTY of breaking our laws.

WEIRD isn't it?

Guess that Democrat coolaid can turn the world upside-down in some people's minds.

Question:
IF Cheney is a "Crook"... What law did he break?
@Investigations? | 5:19 p.m. | 10:05 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
If you want to talk about investigations, look no further than the Bush administration. Where to begin? There's the torture scandal, the Valerie Plame scandal, the politically-motivated firings of attorneys (Alberto Gonzales), war-mongering, fabrication of intelligence info (and suppression of actual intelligence info), Blackwater/Xe, KBR (a division of Halliburton), etc.

If Glenn Beck really cares about our troops, why won't he call out KBR for their shoddy electrical wiring, which has resulted in the electrocution deaths of more than a dozen servicemen in Iraq.

Here's a nifty little statistic:
Since moving to FoxNews in January, Glenn Beck had mentioned ACORN 1002 times while he has mentioned Halliburton OR KBR 8 times. Why does Glenn Beck hate our troops?

(Numbers are through Sept. 23, 2009, the latest info I could find.)
Gangsters and Government | 11:04 a.m. Nov. 3, 2009
The only real big time gangsters today are either in powerful government positions or are very close to government.

Whether it's ACORN, Union thugs, or insider financiers, the best, most available road to power and wealth is through joining in the most lucrative crime in the world - the exploitation of the taxpayers, and the manipulation of the currency, of the United States of America.
Re "Gangsters and Government | 1 | 1:51 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
Gangsters and Government | 11:04 a.m

There's also a large group of gangsters who make a whole career out of cheating and milking government programs like Medicare/Medicaid.

Did you see 60-Minutes last week? There are litterally thousands of people (with mob connections) just in one neighborhood in Florida who make MILLIONS each year by buying lists of names and numbers for people on Medicare/Medicaid, opening a Medical Device company, Billing Medicare MILLIONS in bogus claims, collecting and then closing down and opening another bogus company and just doing that over and over.

And the GOVERNMENT can't find them!!! Or STOP them!!! Because it costs less to just pay them than it does to fund the FBI to go find and STOP these gangsters!!!

And the Left thinks EXPANDING Medicare and doing MORE of is the answer!
@9:04 | 2:05 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
Why do you hate our economy and our constitution? Why are you supporting the destruction of the greatest economy that ever existed?
@1:51 p.m. | 2:08 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
How can you blame the "Left",
When the premise of that 60 minutes investigation is the Greed of "Free Marketeers" exploiting "Capitalism" from a very heavily Republican neighborhood [I guess you missed that].

You wack-os on the ultra far right make me laugh.

Reeking of hypocracy.
@ "10:05 a.m." | 5:39 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009
10:05 a.m.

You listened to every word Glenn Beck said on every show and COUNTED every time he said a given word?

My don't YOU need a life!

Actually I doubt you have that much ambition. I suspect you got this info from some long-haired blogger typing whatever numbers come into his head while playing on the internet in his parnet's basement.

And of course you trust this info you read on the internet intrinsicly. Only Glenn Beck and the videos he shows on his programs are not verifiable, but the number you read from some anonymous source on the internet is Gospel... right?

Who actually listens or reads and COUNTS how many times he says a given word??? And then thinks that actually MEANS anything significant?
@ "2:08 p.m." | 12:26 p.m. Nov. 4, 2009
2:08 p.m.

I'm NOT blaming the Left. I'm blaming the GOVERNMENT... who runs the programs being scammed and wanting to even EXAPAND those programs they are already mis-managing.

Do you think these mobsters can't choose ANY neighborhood they want for the bogus address for their scams???

You really think the political makup of the neighborhood the scammers chose for the bogus busines addresses had ANYTHING to do with the story?

Of course it didn't. Your grasping at straws to distract people from the point.

The point is... Medicare/Medicaid are already to big for the government to manage and the mob is ALREADY making a full time job out of ripping them off (to the tune of $60 BILLION last year)!!!

And you think the only solution is to make them BIGGER and even harder to police and prevent fraud?

Maybe if we just crack-down on people and businesses in predominatly Republican neighborhoods THAT will work. Republicans are obviously the problem, right? At least that's what YOU seem to think the story was all about.
