Dallas Aggie

Ouch! I am so impressed with our coaches and players! We are NOT at full strength, and yet they dug in and played their hearts out. We will get there. Thanks again and lets take it to Hawaii!

Colo. Aggie

Wow, the two missed field goals were so costly. We let another great effort go for naught. This would have been the signature win that we've been looking for to turn the season in the right direction. If we win this game, we go 5-5 when Boise comes to town. Well, keep fighting aggies. We need to get a couple of more wins this year to get ready for what we all hope will be a great turn around next year. These close losses are painful. But, we are competing with everyone we play which is an improvement. Good luck next week in Hawaii. Go Aggies!

Secondary not deep and depleted

but what an effort by guys who have absolutely zero experience! It really was an impressive defensive effort all things considered.

And while we have not obtained the wins we need to call this season a success I will say that having Diondre AND Turbin back have me more confident about "next year" than ever. Gary has some significantly bigger guys coming to the lines and if we get a little more depth there I really like what we can do next year. It truly is depth that is keeping us from winning these games.

Sooner or later as an Aggie fan you would possibly give up hope BUT I like our chances moving forward with Coach Anderson, I really do.

Otherwise this is just another season with typical results but I can see the progress even through these tough losses.

Go Ags!

ANOTHER moral victory!

CALBLUE

USU is on the way up. Next year and for the next several years they will not be the doormat of Utah College Football. If the Ags can keep this coaching staff together look at WAC.

Byu Fan

I am impressed ....sseriously...Anderson and Co. are turning heads for a double take.....Didn't win but you are right there....dig a little deeper....

Doormat of Utah College Football??? Don't you mean USA College Football?

Anonymous

USU is nowhere near the doormat of college football. Sure, they only have 2 wins, but there are teams out there with zero wins.

And they haven't been blown out in any game this year. The only games they've lost by more than 1 possession were against BYU and Utah AT THEIR PLACES.

So keep up the progress Aggies! People all over are noticing that things are beginning to change in Logan!

Scott B

Wow! With a narrow lead late in the game I was worried that the Aggies would fall apart. I hate moral victories, but I was impressed that USU hang in there better than in prior weeks.

Aggies need a little more muscle and a little more depth, then they will be a force to reckoned with in the WAC. Keep pushing forward. Outside of BSU Aggies are poised to win out. BSU is by far the toughest opponent the Aggies will play this year.

Go Big Blue!!!

C

The Aggies are missing defensive depth. If it gets there next year, they'll be a pretty good football team. Today it was obvious that injuries on that side of the ball killed us.

Aggie Schedule

Aggies will play 7 teams that will be bowl eligible before the year is out.

Texas A&M - currently 6-3
Utah - currently 7-1
BYU - currently 6-2
Nevada - currently 5-3
Fresno State - currently 5-3
Boise State - currently 8-0
Idaho - currently 7-2

The WAC is strong and getting stronger every year. The Aggies are coming up short in tough games but this will change. This team needs a 6 win season and they will never look back! Coach Anderson, get your defense some help in the middle, and this will happen next year.

Doormat of College Football?

I don't think a team that puts up over 500 yards of offesne against Fresno State and Texas A&M can be called the doormat of college football. We just haven't shown results in win column. We could easily be 4-0 in WAC play right now. Things are looking up in Aggieland. We've picked up some stellar recruits. We shouldn't do too bad next year.

What's up?

Anderson may get the job done in the future, but at this point it is just as easy to think last year's staff could have won more this year.

Simple question

When is Gary Anderson going to go for it on 4th and 1 at midfield when we have a lead late in the 4th quarter? This game was the 3rd time this year (NMSU and Nevada) where we have had the lead and the ball close to midfield with a 4th and 1. All three times we have punted only to have the other team take the ball down and score the winning points. Does he really not think his team can get 1 yard, hang onto the ball and kill the clock?

Oh my

Good coach; bad team. aggie fans will find a way to rationalize this one away.

Re: C

I agree. The Aggies don't have any depth on defense, but they also lack depth on the offensive line. A lot of Aggie fans were overly optimistic about it happening this year, but they just don't have the players to make it happen right away. I'm convinced that in 2 years Andersen will have that problem solved. This year's recruiting class will tell.

It takes time

You have to know how to win, this takes time to learn. The Aggies have good coaching that will teach how to win, the players need to learn that the game is as much mental as physical. Good things will happen to this team.

ex aggie

As an ex Aggie player from long ago, I feel the progam is on the way up! Gary Anderson and the USU
coaching staff is not taking a back seat to anyone.
That's the way is should be if you going to compete!
That's how Utah State was in the late 70's and early
80's. The coaching staff went head to head with BYU and Utah for instate athletes and signed some players that both BYU and Utah had offered. Yes Utah State has suffered in the past But I like this
staff and the direction of the progam.

USU

the aggies just need to find a way to play in the fourth quarter, every WAC game this year the ags have gone into the fourth quarter with a lead when all of a sudden their offense goes cold and we lose the game if the aggies offense can find a way to play in the fourth quarter we will be a pretty good football team

Reality Check

I've been an Aggie fan for 30 years. Am I tired of looking for "moral victories"? Yes! But am I still pleased with the direction this team is heading? Huge YES! Anderson is quickly on the right path. The great news is that our skill players will all be back next year. The reality check here is that USU was 17 point underdogs, and they led for most of the game and were right there with a chance to win, and this was even with 2 or 3 of our best defensive players out. This tells me that Anderson and Co. have instilled a more agressive, winning attitude. We are right on the verge, more so now than ever before. Nothing to be ashamed of with this loss. Let's just keep building it up and we'll get there sooner than later.
