I didn't think I would be saying this, but the Aggies are far deeper than they were last year. Bendall is a HORSE. I think he will contribute as much or more than Wilkinson did last year. White and Medlin are both solid, especially Medlin, and Wesley, Jardine, Myer, and Niang have made a lot of progress since last year. Quayle is still the man as well. It's going to be a great basketball season!

For an exhibition game?!? I don't know why a HS basketball player would go anywhere else in the state to play ball!!

up by 30

Nuff said, Bring it

Re:Section F

Saying that Bendall will contribute as much as last year's WAC MVP, based on one performance against an NAIA team is.....well.......pretty ridiculous.

Ernest T. Bass

How many non-conference road games do they play, one or two? They won't even go on the road to play Bountiful High, Disco Stu is actually afraid to play anyone.

Best school in Utah!

I seriously don't know why any other basketball player in Utah would want to attend another school. 8600 for an exhibition game is amazing! Seriously, what kid says themself: "I don't want to play here at Utah State. I would rather play in the great and spcaious fireside center at BYU." We have the best basketball fans in the nation. I miss the Spectrum so much! Love you Aggies!!!

Jason W,

Ernest,
Check your facts before you say something stupid. Their first 3 real games this season are all on the road against non-conference opponents. Then they have 4 at home and then 2 more on the road. Utah State will play anyone anywhere as long as they'll give them the respect of playing both places.

Re: Re: Section F

I'm just saying Bendall looked every bit as strong as G Wil. It may be that he isn't as good, or it may take a year, but he's big and physical inside and he didn't miss once last night...similar to Gary. He also came from SLCC as did Wilkinson so I'm expecting a similar style of play. Looked just as good as Wilkinson did last year vs the same team.

Ags are going to be real tough this year. I can not see them going 30-5 again. I think they are much deeper this year than last. It will be a real fun year for Aggie basketball. Hopefully this year they can make a run into the NCAA's and win a couple of games. Can not wait to see the Spectrum crown when they play YBU if they had this many for an exibition game. WOW.

Cougar Fan

First I'm not a hater. I actually think Aggie basketball unquestionably provides the best fan base in the state, however don't be too quick to judgment on the YBYU game. I still believe the MWC is stronger than the WAC so you are essentially putting the MWC best against the WAC best. I like our chances, we certainly seem to have better athletes although I have not seen the new additions in Logan this year. Either way USU is certainly always tough at home, almost impossible to beat at home but I like our chances with Fredette.

Y Rules.

Re: Re section F

As far as the whole debate about whether Bendall can contribute as much as Wilkinson...just because Wilkinson was WAC mvp doesn't mean that he had ability above and beyond any other player. In fact, anyone who actually watched him play wouldn't say that. It's just that he had consistent stats because he was a solid player that played in a good system. Give Stew any good athlete that will work hard and listen, and he'll turn them into a WAC mvp. I think Bendall shows a lot of promise to fill the void left by Wilkinson. Oh, and 7-7 for 17 points isn't rediculous no matter who they played.

RE:Ernest T. Bass

Mr. Bass, I am not sure if you are a BYU fan or what since you comment on every single story on here but if you are a coog please be at the Spectrum on December 2nd and see what happens. If all anybody wants to talk about is scheduling then that must mean you're program is winning. Grow up and find a new reason to criticize USU.

PS...I absolutely loved the opportunity to chant "UP BY 40!" Yeah buddy!

To Aggie Fans

I hope you have enjoyed the run. I fear it is over. I think BYU will chew up and spit USU and "Disco Stu
" You will be looking up and instead of yelling about being up by forty, the scoreboard will show you down by forty. Remeber, you read it here.

Re: To Aggie Fans

At least USU doesn't have a horrible history of choking in almost every single big game they play (that goes for both basketball and football). Texas A&M 2 years running (not to mention BYU hasn't won in the NCAA tourny in how many years), and then gotta love how they made it in the top 10 in football the past two years and can't seem to win. Glad that FSU and TCU have put you fans in your place already this year.

Re: To Aggie Fan

Be careful about your comment. BYU beat Utah State last year by 5 during the most uncharacteristic game played by Utah State. Utah State had nearly 25 turnovers. Stew Morrill teams seldom do that. Its pretty sad that BYU could only beat a team that they were supposed to be much better than by 5 when that team had 25 turnovers. Utah State has all but two of their players back, and both players have been replaced well with White, Medlin, and Bendall. BYU lost their best player in Cummard. And Fredette has to be defended by some of the best defenders in the wac, pooh williams and jared quayle. Tavernari is also a ballhog and will hurt the team more than he will help.

To Aggies

Remember... Your first real opponent is against a rising Weber State team. Weber State will be no push over team. I saw their scrimmage and they are GOOD! Remember what happened two years ago in Ogden? Yeah, a Aggie LOSS! Exibition is no real indication of the season ahead. Especially against a weak DII team. Wait till you play opposition, then talk.

Re: To Aggies

WSU is a good program and we look forward to playing you. However, comparing how USU did against NNU last year vs. this year there is a significant difference in the Aggies depth and overall strength. They are without question much more experienced and much more steady than last year. I just can't see a WSU win out of this...especially since they had it handed to them last year (26 point deficit) by an Aggie team that was still getting its sea legs.

RE:RE to Aggies

WSU and USU aren't the same teams as last year.

If we are going to compare games against DII's...WSU shot 19-26 3's last night. I'm told that isn't bad shooting.

Quayle vs Lillard...its gonna be great!

USU will play Weber twice.

WSU vs USU

I am very excited to watch this game. It will be the first regular season test for both teams. USU might have taller post players but WSU has the better shooters and speed. Which ever tean loses that first game will be looking for revenge in Logan. This will be a good game. I just hope the Aggies are not over looking the Wildcats. I personally think that Lillard is the better guard. We will find out very soon!!!
