GAME OVER!

Highland, it doesn't matter where we play you it will be the same outcome as the first game, probably worst. You are just another team in our way. We will probably have our starters out by halftime.

class?

Wow Benson is a generous coach..."the defense showed a lot of class" defense did hold tough but what is his definition of class? There was more trash mouth than class and at one point there was even a penalty for poor sportsmanship. Congrats to the Highland offense for overcoming the turnovers. That's one of the things that Orem has not been able to capitalize on all year. Our defense gives the offense GREAT field position all game and we can't convert it to any points, let alone a first down. Orems offense is pathetic so maybe Coach Benson is just trying to build up his defense team for a bigger offensive threat next week.
Orem truely is a class team of boys who will go far in life!!

RE: TIGER PRIDE

so Orem threw a couple more times this game...what does McCann it expect when the boys have not thrown all season. 6 for 18 and thirty total passing yards. Amazing how a whole team has to suffer because one "man" can't change. Hope that there is change coming on the offensive side of things...Typical little man!

To HEaRt and SoUl

Heart and Soul...You are my Hero! Thanks for a great season...you really left it all out on the field, no regrets! An amazing young man on and off the field, and it was a true joy to watch you play. You never gave up, regardless of the score! All for the love of the game! If it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger!

Orem Alum

At what point will Orem get rid of the pee wee league offense they run and start to put the kids in a situation that they can succeed in. It is embarassing to see what these kids go through becuase of the poor coaching.

Tired Tiger Fan

I am happy Highland got to see the ROAR of the Tigers last night for at least a half a game. that ROAR came from the defense! They played smash mouth, playoff football and put it to the Rams creating 3 turnovers, giving the offense the ball inside the 40,30 & 20. Each time to only watch seconds run off the clock before they had to take the field again. end result no points.Honestly, is there anyone out there that expected anything different? Much will be said & should be about the offense/coach, but I want to say to the those young men, the true "Steele Boys" that they are winners! all victories are not determined by the score. they battled adversity all season & most of that being within their own ranks, Those few boys can walk tall.
Underdogs must capitalize on opportunities. Orem's O cannot and the better team finally wore us down in the second half and moves on. Congrats to the Rams and remember the ROAR of the Tiger!

Tiger Cub

it is said defense wins championships and let it be said that a team cannot win a game without an offense. and i mean NO OFFENSE.
The only time the Orem faithful felt like they had a chance to score was when the defense was on the field. UNBELIEVABLE........

re class?

okay "class?", correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty positive that you are an orem parent...which would mean you weren't on the field... which would mean you didn't hear the highland "trash mouth" for yourself, you heard ABOUT it from your son or his teammates. Well the funny thing is, football players usually have a lot to say about the opposing team's class, but they rarely like to tell their parents about their own trashy mouths and unsportsmanlike actions. Before you insult and judge my team, or any other team for that manner, you should find out what is coming out of the mouths of your own "truly classy team of boys who will go far in life".

Tony Tiger

This Tiger team deserved better from a coaching stand point. It is truely a group of classy young men with far more potential than their record. Just funny to me how this TEAM is now being divided by parents as Offense and Defense. I believe they are all one, but then again every parent believes their son is the next NFL great. Please Steele abandon the prevent offense next year.

RE: Orem Alum

My son plays on a pee wee football team and their offense is miles ahead of Orem.

RE: Tony Tiger

It seems to me the division is based on the coaches not the team. There is an obvious difference of play on both sides of the ball.
Defensive Coach: stresses discipline, accountability, leadership & adjustments. coaches on the field at end of games & in locker room win or lose.
Offensive Coach: stresses the same few plays, no adjustments, no leadership. coaches never on the field or in locker room after a loss.
Everyone knows who is over the defense and the offense. 2 clearly different philosophies. One clear choice.
No one is headed to the NFL but these classy boys deserve to have the best experience possible.

Re: Orem Alum

My sons Pee Wee O is miles ahead as well. One can only hope Steele is handing out pink slips to any and ALL coaches involved in this years offense. Call the Pee Wee coach.

Tiger Parents

Please show a little class.Stop bad mouthing your own coaches and give some credit to the highland players. If you are really upset ,may I suggest that your kids transfer to Timpview

funny how "class" gets thrown out when differing options are expressed. stating the obvious and seeking change is not being "non-classy" its being hopeful.

TTF did give credit to the Rams

RE: Tony Tiger

If having the offense ride one bus and the defense riding the other bus to a playoff game is not division than what is it......and the only 2 coaches on the buses where defensive

OHS player

CLASS here

no I am not a parent of anyone on the team and have not talked to any of the players about last nights game...This came from personally being on the field and from the paramedics checking out one of the hurt players...this is a football game, I am not stupid, words and actions get rough. But it is always better to let your actions speak, not your garbage mouths! Your unsportsmanlike penalty was proof that sportsmanship was not shining. I was not insulting your team I was simply stating that class is not a word that I would have used...and I did congratulate Highland on a win and there ability to overcome the turnovers, and there tough stand on the defense! When somebody gets that defensive about a comment posted it usually means they are guilty! I hope that your teams boys can go far in life too...but can't say that I know they will, like I can the Orem boys. There can you put your hackles down yet!

re tony tiger

let clarify something that may have been missed, parents are not dividing the team into offense and defense. any comments posted are directed at the coachs who are grown men not the boys who have their hands tied behind their back!

Up coming tigger

Bad enough that the tiggers lost to the pooh bears. But now the players dont get to say what they fill or they get penalized.

RamHeart

Orem seems like a team with a lot of problems and excuses, thats why they lose. Next week will be a tough game, Highland will have to play great in the secondary in order to win.

Some of you that are talking about how the offense is not doing what is suppose to do, need to understand some things first. Could any of you remember who the starters were last year? yes, thats what I thought. There is only 1 starter from last year that played this year. That means a whole new group of players who don't have experience playing football. Now, how does that relate to the present situation? Every game Orem won this year were against teams that are in the same predicament, Westlake (new school), Timpanogos (new coach), Raymond (5 starters left from last years Providence Champs, Lehi (it's Lehi).

Every team they lost to, have experience on their side.

Don't worry Orem faithfuls, the next 3 to 4 years will be some of the greatest football Orem High will play in a long time.

Want to talk about Experience, 8 Sophomores played a roll on the varsity. 3 started. 22 Juniors played significant amount of time on both sides of the the ball.

The offense will roll next year, I gurantee.
