He'll not have to worry now, the state will find a nice comfy prison cell to put him in for a few years.

I think all law inforcement should use deadly force as the last option. Great job Saracuse police
He shot 30-40 times.... | 2:52 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009
....and hit neighboring homes?

IF he had wounded or killed a neighbor, you'd all be complaining that the police didn't "take him down" and "let it happen".

Not only will he have a rent/mortgage free Comfortable cell...freeutilities, big screen tv, FREE college education, medical care!! All FREE!
and we taxpayers will foot ANOTHER bill. There is so little difference between city, county, state, and federal gov't and why are they sooooooooo over paid. This man(?) broke the law and should pay thje price instead of being REWARDED!! Wake up before it is to late!!!

I live in an adjacent city to Syracuse. What an amazing story! It seems like something from a movie. Yet nobody died. As a therapist, it is a shock to really read about so many shots being fired in real life and yet unlike law enforcement as seen in some many movies and in other similar real situations in Utah recently not responding in kind. Substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation are real mental disorders, not criminal actions with deliberate rational intent. It will be fascinating to see how this story plays out in the press, the public, and especially with law enforcement as they discuss this incident and how it may or may not influence future stand off policies in this State.

On the one hand, one wishes more crises like this ended up this way (one remembers Greg Lamb, killed in Logan about a year ago, and others).

On the other hand, "He shot 30-40 times.... | 2:52 p.m." has a point. It's easy to see things in hindsight, but police officers have to make hard calls all the time.

This guy should not go to prison. He needs to be where he can get help with his depression and other mental issues. This is serious stuff. I to suffer from depression and sometimes suicidal thoughts. It is a serious problem and he needs help. Not prison. I hope he gets the help he needs!
