Very disppointed in the opening this year. I loved the old version. Why a quest artist from Houston Ballet? Are out dancers not good enough? Didn't see all our principals and solists in action. Too bad
I am somewhat mystified at the borrowing of a Houston guest despite all of our own talent. Still, the performance was lovely, well-danced and, for the most part, beautifully-designed. Bearden and Beppu passed the barre with such stunning perfection that they might have been backed with a touch more than a piano. Packaging should never be underestimated in this most magical form of theatre.
