Psychopaths. | 6:11 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009
Only a psychopathic mind would talk like this to prey on citizens without jobs and an economy dwindling every day.

Sure, some costs are down but so are resources and spending limits. Why are all government agency's in such a hurray to tax and keep spending? Get off this mindset of tax and spend just because more americans are out of jobs and no one has money.

Talk about regressive government and education department with no heart or cares about the people. Education is only as good as the economy allows and for the next ten years they should all stop with this insatiable desire to keep taxing everyone in to the already overflowing poor house.

The education departments seem to think they have a windfall tax to consider major expansion on a depressed economy. We all could save some money, if we had it to spend. The state is out of money for a reason, economic failure and it does also apply to education departments. How does government and education expect an economic recovery if they keep imposing regressive taxing and spending on pet projects?

Education better get realistic and stop this psychopathic mindset and perceived foolishness.

WHO CARES WHAT THE UTAH TAX PAYERS ASSOCIATION THINKS!

They are just a bunch of self serving legislators.

Stop telling us if they support or don't support. WE DON'T CARE!

I would say its a psychopathic mind who would not see growth of 1,000 students annually and figure its OK to shoehorn them into existing buildings.

No increases in property taxes???

"This is despite misleading wording required by law on Tuesday ballots."

Is reporting like this, well, misinformation?

Pot calling kettle black hit the nail on the head.

The kids are being born and coming to school whether or not we are in a recession. We have to house them somewhere. NOT building now would be more insane. The education officials are getting this one right. Not often I say that. EVERY growing school district should be building right now.

Exactly. Many of our schools are ticking time bombs. When the earthquake hits, a large majority of our kids will be sitting in unsafe schools.

But not the legislature. They made sure to protect themselves by retrofitting the capitol building and spending millions on new offices for themselves. Meanwhile our children sit in trailers set on cinderblocks with no A/C.

Nice.

In keeping with a longstanding Deseret News policy of not publishing stories the day before or the day of the election, no comments will be posted on election stories Monday or Tuesday. The rationale for this policy being applied to comments is to prevent the last-minute dissemination of untrue allegations against a candidate that could influence voters.
