Why then is her business not in West Jordan? We need people with more experience in life in general to be leaders of a growing city not young and inexperienced people.

We don't have much to choose from in our Mayoral candidates. One hopes that neither of these two women will be repeats of Donna Evans. Johnson firmly believes she knows all--her sanctimony knows no bounds--and Caspar advising West Jordaners to frequent only West Jordan businesses is somewhat curious as her business is located in Draper.

Well, take heart West Jordan. Mayor Evans was always good for some entertaining press coverage with all of the in-fighting that occurred during her administration. No doubt the next mayor will provide as much or better entertainment.

I agree with Jenny. One has only to sit behind Ms. Johnson at a public function and watch how she manages her own children to see how she handles responsibility. My vote goes for maturity and experience.

My name is Kit Johnson. I am 16 and I support my mom for mayor. I will try to be better behaved at public functions.

I have been getting Johnson's council newsletter updates for several months now. I appreciate her efforts to keep people informed about the city. She is clearly the one with experience. My vote goes to her.

I got really involved in the school district split. Melissa Johnson's work on the transition team was top notch. She is a master strategist who doesn't scare easily. She may look young, but I believe she's the best option we've had in years.

"A master strategist who doesn't scare easily."

If Johnson was such a master strategist, why didn't she rally the legislators on the west side to work against Rep. Cox of Lehi who got the ball rolling on the laws that allowed the Jordan District to split? Many of the West side legislators voted for those bills, before it finally dawned on anybody on the west side that they actually lost the war before they realized there was one! Johnson was on the City Council during some of that time. A master strategist? You've got to be kidding. True, she did work to rally the West side legislators after all was said and done, but she, along with everyone else, was asleep when it really mattered.
